Joseph’s POV2 weeks.I had been out for 2 weeks?? “I can’t stay here,” I said, attempting to get up but feeling a shot of pain in my stomach. I winced at the pain and instantly fell back onto the bed.“Easy now,” Bernard said, trying to get me to calm down. “You’re taking a little longer to heal because you were shot a few times with a silver bullet. You need to let yourself heal.”
Tessa’s POV“That’s it, Tessa! You’re doing it!” Lucias exclaimed, clapping his hands. The others in the coven came outside to the backyard to see what I was doing. They all stared up at the sky and watched as the clouds darkened, just as I wanted. There was a small fire in the middle of the yard; a fire that I had set. But I wasn’t afraid of it like I was at that time I set the forest on fire. This fire was controlled, and I knew it wasn’t going to hurt me or anyone around me. It was listening to me; waiting for orders and wanting to do right by me.It was working for me, not against me.The clouds exploded and rain poured down, soaking us all. The others screamed and laughed as they got drenched. I didn’t get wet though. A small bubble formed around me, shielding me from the wrath of the water. It took out the fire only leaving a small cloud of smoke that emerged from the ground and disappeared into the night’s air.I raised my hands and swiped away the clouds and the rain and it st

My hands trembled with each letter I wrote, and my vision became blurry with tears.I knew he was alive from the beginning. But I lost hope. Joseph’s POVI wanted to teleport to the coven house location, but Esmeralda said that we should be using as little magic as possible when we get there and when we get her out of there because they will be able to track us if we use magic in their territory. So, we drove. It took a few hours, but we finally reached the small town that Tessa’s father’s farm was in. I was surprised that the coven house was only a few minutes away from the farm. It was right under our noses the entire time.
Joseph’s POVAs soon as my arms wrapped around her, it was like a dam had broken inside of her. All the fears, the pain, the emotions she had felt throughout these last couple of weeks came pouring out of her.Tessa sobbed in my arms, burying her face in my chest; her entire body shook as she cried and her hold on me tightened. I breathed her in, basking in her scent and allowing it to calm my wound-up body. I was still in shock that she was in my arms again.I buried my face in the nape of her neck, breathing her in.
Joseph’s POVEverything happened so quickly.I heard the gun going off and at the same time everything went white, and the explosion sounded around the house.I quickly got to the ground, unsure if I was hit or not. I heard screaming coming from the floor above us and then I heard the clinking of the gun dropping to the hardwood floors. Everything went silent momentarily as my vision cleared but I could smell the smoke. Not knowing where it was coming from, I tr
Tessa’s POVJoseph looked just as confused as I was. His eyes never left my father’s, and my father was staring wide-eyed at Esmeralda, his mouth agape. She didn’t look as surprised to see him though. She stood off to the side of Joseph with her arms folded across her chest.“We need to talk, Rick,” she said to him, her lips pressed in a thin line. Before he could say anything in return, I stepped out of the car next, much to Joseph’s dismay. Joseph snapped me a look that told me he didn’t want me to leave t
