Grant

After dealing with some urgent paperwork, I climbed a tree on the outskirts of the forest and took my notebook and pencil from my backpack. Sitting on a tall branch of a tree and drawing was what I used to do when I had to think, or needed time alone. Above everything, that's what I had to do to escape my father and his constant fury. I had to hide in the forest in a place where he would never imagine I would be, but from where I could see him coming.

A long exhale left my nostrils, as the memories swirled from the back of my mind. Most days, my father didn't give me any attention, as if I didn’t even exist. I was only a spare, as he said many times. Yet every time he remembered I existed, it was either to punish or humiliate me.

Scratching the pencil on the paper, I tried to focus my thoughts on something better, beautiful, yet perfectly broken – Angeline.

I started the sketch with her gorgeous eyes, all their fire and sadness.

Elijah With a wave of my hand, I had the werewolf materialising into my den. He looked at the sides, his brown eyes wide with fear. He was one of the spies I had infiltrated the packs and called for me, saying he had important news to deliver. I transported him here without losing time since he was strategically positioned in Grant’s pack. “Give me the news!” I ordered. My patience was already gone due to the sequence of failures, resulting in both Grant and Angeline still being alive. “The redhead girl, the one you asked us to keep our eyes on, is-is there in the Deep Waters Pack. I saw her entering the pack clinic a few minutes ago,” the man told me, his face contorting with fear. His great efforts not to stumble were visible. Pathetic! “Was she with Grant?” I asked, raising my brows in rage. My aura was growing fast whilst shadows started escaping from my pores and surrounded both the coward spy in front of me and myself. Those two bloody wolves found their way to each othe

Grant Beta Dexter’s eyes popped open, glowing in a menacing way. This was my pack, and I wouldn’t back away. I have had enough! “I did the right thing going after her and probably saving her life. No one will question my decisions about my future Luna’s safety and well-being. Are we clear?” my voice came up deeper and more guttural than ever. To my surprise, instead of taking a step closer or talking back, he lowered his head in submission, “Yes, Alpha,” Dexter replied. I had a lot to grow to be the Alpha Angeline and this pack deserved and that she would be proud of. “The loss of lives is a tragedy, and we will reassure and try to compensate the victims’ families as much as we can. I am the one making the decisions here. Angeline is to be protected and guarded by the most skilled warriors from this moment on. They will be discreet and follow her like shadows so as not to upset or harass her.” I ordered with a new sense of determination, brought by my need to protect her. “W

Angeline “Of course he will smell you, he is an Alpha and his sense of smell is very strong,” Dora told me calmly. “Come up with an excuse!” Cal chimed in. Walking closer to Grant in a way I didn’t have to move my thighs apart too much, I murmured, “You know, I found out I have another thing. It’s surely because of my wound. Now I am always drooling down there; it must be a disease or something.” As soon as the words left my lips, I wanted to hit my head against the wall. What the hell? That came out in the worst way possible. Grant’s eyes popped open, and for two hot minutes, he looked at me as if I were a two-headed were-alpaca before nodding. “Do you need to see the pack doctor?” he asked, his hazel eyes now filled with worry. Nice, now he was worried about my horny self! “Nah… it’s okay. Just a small issue, surely every she-Wolf goes through it once in a while, demonic wound or not, right? Let’s start!” I said, trying to make it a little better. I just hoped I hadn’t f

Angeline “We have to handle our justice ourselves, Angie,” Cal barked. “I know. Grant shouldn’t say a thing to the King, especially not before Aaron is under our claws!” I agreed and Dora sighed deeply. She surely was with Grant in that. So much for being a supportive wolf! At least my girl Cal supported me in whatever I came up with. “You should start training in wolf form too. First, you could run a little in your wolf form. Have you done it since you…died?” Grant asked. Shit! I hoped that this time it would work. Running on fours seemed like a great idea. I wanted to feel the wind in my fur and the freedom flowing through my veins. Taking off my oversized jacket and pants, I stood only in my underwear and t-shirt. I hardly had enough clothes to wear, so I couldn’t have everything I had reduced to pieces in case Dora could actually shift. “I can try to shift, but you will have to help, Angeline. Breathe deeply and let the light in, putting all rage and hatred aside. Think

  • My Unfated Mate   23. The Rise of the Alpha

Angeline Wolf boy was a little too much with all of his nudging and kissing, but I let Dora have her time and do things her way while she was in her form. “I am Dora, what’s your name?” To my surprise, Dora’s voice reached the Alpha wolf’s mind. His hazel eyes popped open in amazement before he jumped in joy! “Hello gorgeous! I am Stormy, at your service and always ready for a ride. But how can you mind-link me, you are not a member of this pack or my fated mate?” Stormy’s voice was both filled with excitement and confusion. “I do have a few special abilities, since I am a wolf of Golden light. One of them is being able to mind-link anyone,” Dora explained, and Stormy’s eyes shone even brighter. What was up with him? “Eye-sight problem for sure. He might be handsome, but he is so basic! Of course, he prefers blondes like Dora! It’s a wonder that she didn’t tell him she is the Goddess-sent wolf, the one who never poops or farts!” Cal chimed in, a frown clear on her muzzle.

  • My Unfated Mate   24. Fighting Back

Grant Elder Sylvio lowered his head in submission, but remained still. He was completely petrified, his eyes wide open. It took another strong growl from me to have him leaving the room with his head cast down. “Yes, shove your tail between your legs and leave, rag!” Stormy growled within my mind. As I looked around, I realised that not only Beta Dexter had his eyes cast down and neck bared in a sign of submission, the three Elders in the room were in the same position. The adrenalin in my blood dropped a little and I could feel how strong my Alpha aura was, commanding submission. For my whole life, my Alpha aura was rather weak, and my father liked to emphasise it to humiliate me. “Damn Grant! Now that you let yourself and me be what we were supposed to be, we are dynamite, pup! Look at that vase, the thing is shaking. That’s some powerful s.hit happening here, that’s not the average Alpha aura but some golden explosion!” Stormy told me. Looking to my left, my eyes snapped op

Angeline I ended up falling asleep as I read about fighting techniques. Once again, a certain hazel-eyed Alpha popped up in my dreams, and his mouth and fingers did delicious things to my body. To my frustration, just like last time, I woke up before reaching d.icktown. Not even in my dreams could I pop my damn cherry. Focus Angeline! I chastised myself as I walked to the kitchen. As soon as the sun rose, I jumped off my bed. I wouldn’t wait for Grant, but rather start training as early as possible. Anyways, before anything, I had to put some food in my growling belly. Reaching the kitchen, I saw a few Omega ladies, including Jojo. “Oh, no!” Jojo squealed, rushing to the stove. Following her with my eyes, I saw a bright flame rise from a pan. Well, it seemed like I wasn’t the only she-wolf who liked to set stuff on fire. “You set the Alpha’s house on fire, Angeline. That’s quite different,” Dora told me, shaking her head, her gaze heavy with judgement. “Hey, isn’t that t

Angel Grant looked around carefully and his nostrils flared open, “I can’t see or smell anything,” he started. Taking my hand in his, he examined our surroundings once again. Was I having a damn deja-vu? The same happened when I was with my jerk-ex mate back in my pack. I was surely being watched by Blake or one of Elijah’s wolf-minions, but Aaron didn’t believe me for a second. Well, well, Grant seemed to be the same. “I can’t feel anything, Angeline, but we will take all the necessary cautions. I will tell the patrollers to go through this area and be extra careful with the borders now. Let’s go, we must rush,” he told me, pulling me by the hand, fast but gently. “Wait? Where are we going?” I asked, lost in confusion, but still following him. “There is a safe-room. There no one will be able to harm you, or even see you. I will make sure you are safe and feel safe,” he whispered. Entering the pack house, we headed to a small library I hadn’t ever seen. There, Grant locked th

GrantAngeline and I proceeded to check the ruined car. Surveying its surroundings, she found a few pieces of torn clothes.“I can’t find my phone, but it’s not that important. I can always count on Dora’s super-reaching mind-link abilities.” She shrugged her shoulders.Fortunately, the two elite guards who escorted us here weren’t dead, only harmed to the extent of unconsciousness. The king’s army transported them to the Royal Pack where they could receive immediate treatment. They would be fine.I hauled another sign of relief. Their lives matter and always will. After gazing around the half-burnt trees of the empty meadow, Angeline joined me, melting into my embrace. We were finally alone. I am sorry I couldn’t protect you!” her last words were a distant echo, and so was the icy pain spreading through my soul as I wasn’t able to reply to her. She was already gone. I could never tell her that she was enough and I loved her too.I was so empty without my Sia, my soul unable to reach hers.More words ricocheted in my mind, from the moment I first met Dora, but refused to let go of my first wolf. “Sia is gone. She sacrificed herself in an attempt to save you. Her soul shielded yours, and consequently, she took the hardest hit of Elijah’s dark magic.”Sia sacrificed herself for me!“And I will do it as many times as it takes!” Cal growled, lunging on Elijah.“No!” I screamed in my mind, I couldn’t lose my Cal-Sia again. AngelineI had to spill it out! After taking a long and deep breath, I started, “Grant, I’m not your friend. We can’t be friends—”He interrupted me with a low growl. “Sorry, I couldn’t control the growl. I know I’m imposing Angeline. I have no right over you and I shouldn’t be here when you told me not to. After we talk to the king, I will be out of your life.” He didn’t do a good job concealing the sorrow in his voice.“No!”Grant’s head reared back, forehead creasing at my protest as he threw me a confused look.I slurred, “I mean … that’s not what I want. I can’t be your friend because it’s too little and I want so much more. I want everything.
