Chapter 55

Naomi

We set off just as the sun dipped below the horizon, a pastel pallet of pink, purple, and blue painted the sky. The moon was beginning to rise and if you looked out at the horizon, you could see both the sun moon and stars at the same time. I took that to mean it was a good omen.

Cal insisted on driving. He gripped the steering wheel with white knuckles, his face drained of colour, making him look a little grey. I had suggested we find a witch to help when we get there. He eventually agreed and has been sulking ever since. The brief smile and relaxed shoulder after he climaxed is long forgotten. Now I just have him sitting beside me with dark thoughts clouding his mind.

As we drove through the winding roads, cars whizzed past us, honking and cutting us off. I heard him grunt and scoff as he manoeuvred our car through the chaotic traffic as I gazed out the window.
