Gabriel’s POV

It’d been a week since Aria came home.

She had been recovering well. Her bruises and scrapes were gone. Her ribs were almost healed. She made a potion from a Rue plant and a red clover that was supposed to help heal broken bones. I guess it worked because her ribs looked great.

Victor hasn’t made a move to take her back yet, but it was only a matter of time before he did.

We had been preparing for him. We will be ready when he comes. It was time we ended this once and for all.

Nick, Annie, and Patricia had been practicing combat in wolf form. Mike and Jack focused on increasing their stamina, which was pretty good even when they started. The rest of us focused on our magic and perfecting our spells.

Aria hadn’t been practicing. We had her on bed rest. She had been complaining for the past few days, that she wanted to practice with us, but I said no. I didn’t want to put her at risk. She could hurt herself.

We were sitting at the dining room table, eating breakfast. Nick,

Why?”“You seem tired,” she explained.I looked away from her and sighed. “I am fine.”I saw her nod from the corner of my eye. She stayed silent and we continued watching Mike and Jack.“Gabe,” I heard a voice calling me.I turned around and saw Aria walking toward me. It took her a bit longer to pull on her magic and focus it on one person, but that was just because she was still a bit hurt. When she recovered properly, she would be as

Gabriel’s POVI watched Aria and Cassie walk away. I could tell that Cassie needed to get away from Zack for a second.I turned back and looked at Zack. He was looking after the girls as well. Blake was glaring at Zack.“How the fuck did he even get her?” Zack asked after a few moments of silence. “How did he manage to take her away while she was with all of you?”All of our eyes snapped to Blake. Zack followed our gaze, and his eyes narrowed.“Did he have something to do with that?” Zack asked through his teeth.I was hesitating. Should we tell him? Blake was really sorry, and Aria made us promise not to blame him.“Yes,” Nick said bluntly.I guess he didn’t care.Zack’s eyes widened, and he clenched his fists. “Why the fuck is he still alive?”“Zack, calm down,” Jake said and walked over to him. “Blake made a mistake, but he apologized.”Zack’s eyes snapped toward me and Nick. “So, your mate and your twin sister almost died because of that fucker, and you let him live?!”I looked at

She walked around and sat next to me, leaning her head on my shoulder.“I want my brother right now,” she said to Nick.A huge grin spread across my face. I looked at Nick. He was glaring at me, and I stuck my tongue out at him. He huffed and rolled his eyes.I lifted Aria and sat her on my lap. Gabriel’s POVI was sitting on a couch in the living room. I was the first one to be awake. Patricia will introduce Petra to us today, and we will call Victor later.I was nervous about that. I saw how afraid Aria was, and it made my blood boil. I wanted her to feel safe, but I know that she won’t be safe until we take care of Victor. That was why I was hoping this call would go smoothly. I was hoping he will come to us, and we will end this thing quickly and once and for all.I heard someone walking downstairs, and when I looked up, I saw my sister.“Good morning,” she said with a smile on her face.“Morning, love,” I said as I motioned for her to come sit next to me.She sat down, and I wrapped my arm around her shoulders, pulling her closer to me.“What happened with Cassie yesterday?” I asked her. “You seemed sad when you came to me.”“I think you can guess it,” she sighed. “I was sad because I know it is hard for her. Mike had been keeping me updated. Patricia didn’t try to take Victor’s position. For now. They were shutting his whole operation down. It wasn’t going as smoothly as we had hoped it would, but they were making progress. They were having trouble with some of Victor’s most loyal followers. They didn’t believe he was dead, and they wanted to continue with the inquisition.I trusted that Mike, Jack, and Patricia would be able to deal with them. The rest of us were packing to go home tomorrow. Are we sure that this is over? It sounds too good to be true. What about the prophecy? What about his threat?”“He is dead, baby,” Nick spoke before I could. “He is gone forever and this whole story is over. Not all prophecies come true.”She sighed and looked back down at her plate. “I guess.”I placed my hand on her back and rubbed small circles soothingly. “Don’t worry, love. It is over.”She looked up at me and gave me a small smile. She didn’t look convinced. I sighed internally. I would make sure she felt safe. I would make sure she believed that this was over.Because it was.It had to be.Nick watched him burn
