III - The Perfect Twins

That’s it, I was at the Hawkins' house, I’d gone there to do the interview and was hoping they’d say no to me, it was the only way that those damn vampires left me alone.

Only not being accepted into that house would I be able to get rid of them without having to do anything crazy, like being a spy, also my family would be safe.

It was still hard to believe that this all was true, that vampires and werewolves actually existed, my mind refused to process, I could not understand how it was possible, in my head it was as if I was being blackmailed by dangerous people and only, not supernatural beings.

While the whole family thought that Olivia was involved with a thief or someone worse, but not even in a million years we would think that it would be a controlling vampire over a hundred years old.

"Good morning. What do you want?" a male voice rang through the intercom.

"I’m Abbigail, I’m here for the interview."

"Oh yes, they are waiting for you." And quickly the gate with the family crest opened giving me way.

I walked along the gravel path of the garden until I stopped at the stairs in the entrance of the house, the day was cloudy, the clouds were heavy and I did not doubt that soon it would start to rain.

I was distracted until a strong man, with long brown hair, the brown skin and eyes in the same tone, wearing jeans and a plaid shirt appeared down the steps and coming towards me.

"Good morning. I am..."

"Abbigail, yes I know." He looked at me suspiciously, with furrowed forehead he looked at me from head to toe, as if he wanted to see something that wasn’t there. "You were highly recommended, you can come in."

The tone he used saying I was highly recommended was pure disbelief, as if he didn’t know why they would have recommended me for the job.

Now I didn’t know if I have to be afraid of him knowing the truth, of they knowing that I had been sent there by their enemies, or if I was relieved to know I was more likely not to be accepted for the job.

When I walked in I was surprised by what was in front of me, didn't expect to see a huge, muscular and sensual man, naked!

He was wearing only a black underwear and it was difficult to pretend that I wasn't facing his sexy and defined body.

He looked like a lumberjack, long golden hair all messy, giving an wild air, as well as the breastplate covered with a layer of blonde hair. It was terribly beautiful and hard to look away.

But my surprise was greater when an exact copy of him came up, the only difference between the two was that the last one was dressed and growled something for me, only I could not understand what he said.

"That’s bullshit, there’s no need to apologize." Cailan spoke approaching me and putting his hand on my arm, leading me to where the little trickster was eating. "Denny loved it, isn’t big boy?"

"Beautiful." The boy clapped his hands making me smile, he was beautiful and could not deny the similarity between him and the brothers.

"It seem that he liked you." Kai spoke, drawing my attention to the naked body.

I did not think that the werewolfs would be so handsome. The broad, tanned chest became stiff attracting my gaze to everything else, as well as the defined abdomen.

"Hey man. Don’t you have something to do?""

"Sure, but I need a minute with you."

And just like that, they both left leaving me with the  little Denny and the woman who was cooking.

The kitchen was beautiful and incredibly equipped, by the size of that property you could be sure that the vampires told the truth when they said that the Hawkins were rich.

"Sit here." the boy said curling up with the words.

"Sit down girl, soon the twins will come down and talk to you about the work." The woman said putting two plates full of eggs and bacon on the table. "But who you have to convince is this little guy here, who doesn't like any of the nannies that the brothers arrange."

I looked at the boy next to me, his big straight hair had been tied and his mouth was all dirty with porridge.

He remembered the brothers, the same brown eyes, the long blond hair.

"I liked her." he muttered with a full mouth making us both laugh.

Don't past long time before they returned, as the woman had said, but this time they both seemed to be in sync and now, with the two dresses it was even more difficult to identify who was who, it was impossible to distinguish.

"So let’s talk, Miss Abbigail."

"Abby, everybody calls me Abby."

The two of them looked at me as if I was the most interesting thing there, their eyes caught on me analyzing every move I made.

"I saw on your résumé that you’ve been working as a secretary for many years. Why change to babysitting now?"

The right answer would be: I am here because I was forced, I need the money and now I am being threatened.

"I need something that gives me more flexibility, I have a mother in the hospital doing a long treatment and the payment your are offering is great, exactly what I need." That’s the answer I was told to give. "And I was a nanny years ago, I’m sure Denny and I will get along just fine."

I smiled at the boy pretending everything was perfect, but I was following the script they gave me, if I came out of it and did anything that made me not be accepted, Elijah would read my mind and know what I did, then will make me pay.

"I’m sorry about your mother. We lost ours recently and that’s why Denny needs a nanny."

I faced them both there, trying to tell who was Cailan was and who was Kai.

"Are you ready to move here?" I frowned my forehead not understanding the question. "Cailan and I travel a lot sometimes and we need you to stay here twenty-four hours a day, you have to live in our house."

The possessive way he said it surprised me, but not as much as the fact that I was already accepted.

"So... am I hired?"

"For sure, you can bring your stuff today!" Kai stated, at least now I was distinguishing the both.

"Today? But... I need to organize my life."

 The truth is that I was not expecting this, I did not expect that they would like me, my resume had nothing on me being a nanny, nothing that would make me a good candidate, if wasn't for the boy I doubt very much that they would have hire me.

"We don’t want to be away too long..." Cailan started talking but his brother gave him a discreet nudge, preventing him from continuing.

"We don’t want that Denny stay too long without a nanny, we really needed you here as soon as possible." Kai corrected the brother. "Koda will be available to take you home and bring your things."

I looked at each other perplexed, they had already made all the decisions, they knew everything I would have to do before I could say I would take the job.

But a lightning  broke out on the outside and the soun of a thunder shook everything, making me jump in place. Then the noise of a torrential rain began to fall. The storm had just begun!

"Looks like you’re gonna have to sleep here anyway." Cailan muttered opening a wide smile that caused a stir inside me.

I did not understand what was happening to my body, but I felt everything inside me warm up with the look they threw at me. Where I got myself into?
