Chapter 66

Lian's POV

I had turned pale with fear and panic. My heart throbbed hard and I was restless. I clutched my mother's arm tightly with my head resting on her shoulders.

"Lian!" Mother flinched as my skin rubbed against her body.

"You are burning up!" She exclaimed and pulled me up, looking into my face.

"Get the royal physician!" She yelled.

"Stop, mother. It's nothing. I just needed some rest. I am fine."

"Send the royal physician to my chambers. Now!" Mother ordered, ignoring me.

"My bad. I should have known that you will need enough rest after such an ordeal," mother said and pulled me up. I couldn't even protest anymore.

A royal carriage was already waiting in my courtyard, the one my mother came with.

Guards scampered around while maids and servants attended to us. Mother and I walked through a file of servants as we proceeded towards the carriage.
