Chapter 102

Renae's POV

Night had fallen and I hadn't seen Logan since he left in the morning. The Queen mother had insisted that I set up my chambers. She said that it was important that I have my own space. So I was busy alongside June and the maids as we set up my chambers.

Despite my business, I still missed him. I had been checking at intervals to see if I would see him passing.

We had stopped the day's work and I took a stroll outside my chambers. That was when I caught a glimpse of Logan, he was coming to my chambers.

I scurried in and hid in the corridor waiting for him. But suddenly, Targon, his personal guard, appeared from nowhere. I saw him fall on his knees before Logan and I prayed earnestly that he wouldn't spoil the moment for me. I need my man right now.

After Targon left, Logan gave a long look at my chambers and turned away towards his chambers. I didn't see his face, but with his sagging shoulders and crooked strides, I knew that whatever Targon said wasn't good.
