81 Back in Michael's Arms

The kiss was so intense that it left me breathless. Everything around me started to blur—the voices, the people, even the forest. It felt like I was floating away, and I couldn’t focus on anything except Michael, who was staring at me like he was still mad but also something else I couldn’t quite place.

"Don't think I'll let you off the hook just because you said some sweet things to me," Michael said, his voice low and rough.

I leaned against him, my head resting on his solid chest. "I’m not going to run again," I promised, meaning every word.

Michael didn’t seem convinced. "I don’t need your promises," he replied, touching my head with a frown.

I could feel my strength slipping away, and everything around me started fading, including Michael's voice. "I just wanted to let you know what I was thinking..." I managed to say before everything went black.
