Chase's POVI might have pushed Belinda into this marriage, but I am glad I did. I am going to move in with them tonight. I have bodyguards because I am a billionaire, and people will try anything to get me to give them money. I am glad I can protect my son and Belinda. If anybody found out I had a son, they would come to my son and even try to kidnap him to get my money. I now have a reason to give him a bodyguard at school, and everywhere he goes. I do not want anybody to get close to my son and cause him any harm. I know how dangerous it is in my world, but I also know that once Belinda takes on her father and his family, they will get desperate and try to harm her or Connor. I do not want anything to happen to Belinda or Connor. I do not want the same thing to happen to them that happened to her mother. I'm going to help her to take them down. They do not deserve anybody like Belinda. I also want to convince her that I love her and want to be there for her and Connor for the rest
Belinda's POV We will have a busy day tomorrow, and I want Connor to go to bed. I will not entertain his views of how a married couple should live. I am not going to allow Chase into my bedroom. My bedroom is my private space where I can sit and think. I need to think about everything I've learned today. There is so much that I have to think about. I have discovered that my father is stealing from me, and Amanda is my half-sister, not my step-sister, as I always thought. I suspect that my father and stepmother killed my mom. I have to figure out how I am going to prove it. I also have to figure out what to do about it when I can prove it. "Connor, we will talk about brothers and sisters later, but now you must go to bed tomorrow. We will have a hectic day as you must see your new school. We will figure everything out as time goes by. For now, you have to be content with how we live. I do not want to hear another word from you. I want you to go to bed, and I want you to remember to ge
Belinda's POVI wake up the following day and realize what I have done. Luckily, it's still early, and Connor is not awake yet. I look at the man lying next to me naked. We better get some clothing on before Connor wakes up. I pump him with the elbow. Chase moans. He opens his eyes and pulls me into his embrace. I push him away, knowing Connor can walk into my room anytime. We have to get clothes on at least. "Nope. We have to get dressed. Cornor can walk in on us at any moment. How are we going to explain to him what happened last night? What if he wants to jump in the bed between the two of us? Like on TV, you know?" I say. Chase quickly jumps out of bed and puts on his sweatpants. I promptly put on some pajamas. We jump back into bed. We are just in time as there is a knock on my door. "Come in," I shout. Connor will never walk into my room without permission. "Mommy, I cannot find father ... ohh," Connor says as he looks at us with big eyes. Then he runs and jumps into bed with
Third Person's POV Connor is a little bit scared and excited at the same time. It is his first day at school. Connor doesn't know if he will get along with the other kids in school. He does not want his mom and dad to worry, so he pretends to be excited to go to school. He knows his mother likes to worry about him, and he does not like her worrying about him. He is a big boy. He is sure he can handle anything that comes his way at school. He is wearing his uniform for the first time. "Are you already ready for school? It is still early, but I can see that you are excited to go to school. I was worried that you would not like going to school. I know it is your first day at school and you will enjoy it. You will make new friends and play outside," Belinda says as she walks into the kitchen, where Chase and Connor sit next to the table. Connor made them breakfast, which consisted of cereal and milk. Belinda does not mind Connor eating cereal, but she does not like him eating it daily.
Belinda's POVI am ready for the court case of the Gray divorce. I have seen everything the servants said and know I can prove them wrong. I know Mr. Gray is the one who is forcing them to say stuff that is not true. Also, know that Mrs. Gray has invested much money into the marriage. He does not want to give her anything, and he wants the children. Luckily, Mrs. Gray was very clever. She kept all the receipts that she invested in their company. He is pretending to be the family's sole provider, but he is not. We also know he is having an affair, and we can prove it. Previously, Mrs. Gray did not have outstanding attorneys. She came to me and gave me her whole files. Amanda thinks she is very clever and she's not doing her homework. I know that. I know she's lazy. I can counter them on everything. They pretend that Mrs. Gray is not a good mother, but she's the one who is always at the school functions. At the same time, Mr. Gray is never there. He hardly spent time with his children,
Chase's POVIt was easy for me to find out what the Morris family's art collection consisted of—besides, Belinda also got a list from her mother's attorney friend of all the art. We have made a list and blacklisted it so nobody will buy the art, not even on the black market, as nobody wants to cross Chase Maverick. Henry Jones will not be happy when he discovers we know about the art. Henry signed a prenup before he married Belinda's mother. He cannot touch any other stuff and nothing that belongs to the Morris family. He knows I do not understand why he is trying to steal things that do not belong to him. Did he think Belinda would never find out? It is ridiculous. I do not know how he feels or how his brain works. I know their firm is in deep trouble. I know he's a desperate man, but he cannot take what does not belong to him.I wish I were a fly on the wall to hear what he says when he finds out, he cannot sell the art. I do not know if the man is even thinking about his daughter.
Henry's POV As I walk out of Chase Stone's office, I know we have made a big mistake. I think we underestimated the whole situation. We felt that he and Belinda were not married, but I saw the photo of her and the boy on his table. The boy looks just like Chase. There is no denying that it is Chase's son. I should have tried another approach. I should not have bad-mouthed my daughter. It seems like he loves my daughter a lot. If only Amanda were as cunning as Belinda. We all thought that Jake was a good catch. We wanted Belinda to suffer like our mother. I thought Belinda was in love with Jake. It seems it never was the case. Belinda was more cunning than we thought. She had a bigger fish on the hook. She caught Chase Stone. I didn't know she had it in her, as I didn't think she was as beautiful as Amanda. It looks like I have underestimated my oldest daughter. If only Amanda had half the brains Belinda had. We have lost a great case, which significantly hurt our company. We should no
Third person's POV Henry Jones gets one of his friends to evaluate the paintings for him. He knows the paintings must be worth a lot of money because the Morris family always had the best things in life. Old man Morris always had an eye for a good artist and bought paintings from up-and-coming artists he knew would make it big one day. His friend, a professor in art, comes to his house. He looked through the paintings. He knows that this artwork is worth a lot of money. The collection is worth billions, but you also know that the collection has been blacklisted and is not available for sale by the valid owner. He has been warned about it. "I can tell you one thing. The collection is worth billions of dollars but worth nothing to you. You cannot sell it even if you want to. It's not my place to talk about it, but let me warn you: the Morris family will not allow you to sell the paintings. I will also not mess with them because they are involved with influential people. There is a lis
