Chapter 5

Parth's POV

I was waiting for the interns but my mind went back to Sid. I was glad to see him happy now, he has been so upset because of that girl. In fact, he was so upset on the trip that he abandoned his trip in the middle of it. 

I still remembered as I was in full mood to enjoy the trip and flirt around with so many other female doctors. 

Flashback

" Come fast Sid, I am very hungry, They must have served breakfast, I don't want to miss the tasty Rajasthani food. " I said to Sid, pulling him to the restaurant where a breakfast buffet was served. Many of our colleagues were already there eating food. There was all kind of breakfast dishes but I was very keen on eating Rajasthani food. 

We took some food on our plates and came to one of the tables. I was busy eating but he was looking around.

" Whom are you waiting for?? Enjoy the food while you are in Rajasthan. The food is awesome." I said enjoying the hot pyaj kachori ( onion stuffed kachoris) and Mirchi Vada. ( Stuffed Jalapeños fritters.) 

" Hmmm yeah!! " Sid said but his eyes were still scanning the dining room. 

" Don't tell me you are looking for that junior doctor. What is wrong with you?? " I was getting annoyed to see him in his lovesick puppy avtaar.

" Nothing, just eat your food. It is amazing, a bit spicy but very good. " He said to me to change the topic as he knew I was annoyed with Shruti. 

" Don't change the topic now. What are you waiting for?? Do you think that she would come and join you?? She is arrogant. Stop wasting time on her. " I tried to put some sense into him. 

" It's not her fault entirely, she misunderstood the whole thing. " He tried to explain on her behalf. 

" And you tried to explain so many times but she didn't even give you a chance. " I said.

" Let it be, let's not spoil the day, we are here on a trip, so let's enjoy it to the fullest please don't talk about all these things. " He said to avoid the topic. 

" I am not at all interested in talking about her but I get irritated when you you are lost in her thoughts while she doesn't give a damn about you. " I said. 

" Parth, leave it, please !! " 

" You leave it, Sid. Leave her, throw her out of your mind. You are so smart, intelligent and good looking. One of the best Dermatologists in the hospital. So many girls are crazy about you. Why are you stuck on that girl?? Find some other girl or let me fix a date for you. " I said. 

" Thanks, but no thanks. I don't need your help. " He gave a fake laugh. 

" Look at your right side the girl in that indigo coloured dress or the girl in a light yellow one, both are looking our ways. Let's go on a double date." I said to make him happy. 

" No, you select one of them for yourself and go on date. I am not interested in any of them. " He was stuck on that stupid girl. 

" Then find someone you are interested in. I don't want you to keep pinning for someone who does not care about your feelings. She doesn't bother. What does she think of herself? She should at least trust you." I shouted at him. He was my best friend, I didn't want him to suffer like that. 

" Ok, ok... Calm down. Eat the food. " He said. I went to take another helping while he looked around and saw her with her batchmates. They all were enjoying their food. 

She looked at him and the smile on her face vanished. She looked away immediately and just then a boy of that group said something to her with a flirty expression and she smiled. 

 I saw Sid, clenching his fist. He was getting jealous to see them sharing food. I really wanted to kill her for behaving like that with Sid. 

A few other friends also came and joined us. We had a light conversation while Sid stole a few glances at her.

We all were enjoying while he was getting annoyed. He got up abruptly when he could not take it anymore, excused himself and went away throwing an angry look at the boy. She glared at him. 

I went after him. "Parth, go inside I don't want to talk about it. I am fine. " 

" Sid !! " 

" Go away... " He literally shouted at me. But he was very important to me, so I shook my head and he closed his eyes. He just wanted to be alone and for a change, I left him alone and went inside to have more food. But my mood was spoilt. 

My other friends and I went out after having breakfast and I saw him lost in his thoughts.  We all went towards the Volvo bus which was supposed to take us to our next destination. 

We got settled and then we saw her coming with her friends. She was sitting in another row and he kept looking at her. I was getting annoyed with him.

" What are you doing Sid?? I swear, I will throw you out of the bus. If you would keep sulking." I said glaring at him. 

" Why?? What have I done?? " Just then the bus slowed down and stopped finally. We reached Hawa Mahal in Jaipur. We all got off the bus. 

" You are spoiling my trip too. Be normal or I will go and say something to her. I swear you would not like it. " I shouted and threatened him. 

" No!! You will not " He said immediately. 

" Try me... Now enjoy with us or .... As it is, she is enjoying. Why does it matter to you so much, if she is so cool about it? It doesn't matter to her that you are suffering, but it does to me. I love you." I said as I really annoyed by now 

" What ?? Do you love me ?? Oh, god !!! I was dying to hear it, Parth... I love you too. Let's tell everyone that we are in love and start our life together." He said and my eyes literally came out. 

Then I realised he was trying to make me laugh and change the topic.  

" What ?? Oh No !!! Spare me... " I looked terrified to act along. 

" How can I leave you now??? I love you and you just said that you love me too. " He said and hugged me hard. 

" Ewww leave me... What happened to you all of a sudden?? " I said though I knew he was just trying to lighten my mood. 

" I just realised that you are the love of my life. " He said and I pushed him and started running, but was laughing now. He was happy to see me smiling. 

His happiness has been very important to me as I had no one else in my life. I lost my whole family in an accident almost 6 years ago. Sid and his family gave me mental support. 

So he was the only family I had apart from my grandfather who lived in Rajasthan. Though I had other relatives I was not very close to them. 

Just then a nurse came to my cabin bringing me back to the present time.
