Chapter 7

Liliana's POV

The world around me seemed to slow to a halt as Jason's words rang loudly in my ears. My ears buzzed, and a small throb made its way to the back of my head. Why was Jason so hell bent on finding out who I was? Despite all of my attempts to distract him from knowing my name, none of them seemed to be working. No matter what I did, or what I tried, he was hell-bent on finding out my true identity, and there was no way I was going to let that happen.

But if he found out, was it going to be that bad?

Mike's words from earlier echoed in my ears immediately, like a painful reminder.

“Jason doesn't like plain Jane's like you.” I dismissed the thought from my mind immediately. Alpha Jason and I were on totally opposite sides of the hierarchy. Without giving it a thought, I was sure if he found out my true identity right now, he would put an end to everything we had going on.

“Cat got your tongue, little kitty?” Jason's low tone in my ear pulled me back to earth. I shivered at the proximity of his lips against my ears, and I fought to get a hold on the liquid pooling in between my legs. “ If so, that's not really brave of you.”

“Who said I was speechless?” I bit back, making sure to hide every trace of uncertainty and fear of him finding out who I was. With a flourish, I trailed my fingers down his front again, earning a low groan from the base of my throat. “I was just getting started.”

“We'll see.” Jason smirked. A small gasp slid past my lips as he pressed me against the nearest wall immediately. Excitement buzzed in my veins and while I was barely recovering from the thrill of it all, Jason slammed his lips against mine.

I moaned into the night as his tongue darted in and out my mouth. I could taste his want, and feel it too. I wasn't sure how long we were going to last like this. I wanted him. No, I needed him. Now.

If I'd thought that was all Jason had up his sleeve, then clearly I was mistaken. Beefy hands slid up my body, from my thighs and just underneath my belly. His fingers flickered and circled my entrance, and I rolled my eyes back in pleasure

“If you like that.” He nibbled on my earlobe. “Just wait till I do this.”

Jason cupped me from behind, his hands squeezing my butt, but that wasn't even the surprising part. Almost like I weighed nothing, he lifted me up from the ground, before setting me on a table just right next to him. Up until this moment, I had no idea this table existed in the first place.

“Is that all you've got?” I was breathless. His face was inches away from me, and it took everything in me not to flattern his palm against my breasts. My nipples were practically begging for his touch at this point. “Don't tell them that's all you've got.”

“Will you be able to handle it?” His finger trailed up my spine, going higher and higher. When he'd gotten to my center, I squirmed as he pinched my clit, just through the bikini I was wearing. “You're so wet. Wet for me.”

“Yes.” I whispered as he teased my entrance. I wanted nothing more than for him to shove his fingers into me, just so I could ride on him. “Yes. Don't…”

“Where's that stupid door?” Someone's voice was all it took to cut me off. I felt my heart drop to my feet the moment I realized whom the voice belonged to. Even in a million years, there was no way I'd be able to forget. “I need to find the door to the cellar.”

Mike. What the hell was he doing here? Images of the slap I'd given him and how I'd embarrassed him replayed in my mind, and a wave of fear crept up my spine. Not only had I defied his orders, I had also made a mockery of him, and at his own party too. All of the things I'd done were hinting at me getting punished by Mike later on, and I wasn't looking forward to it one bit.

In all honesty, that wasn't even the worst part. If Mike were to walk in here, my identity would definitely be exposed to Jason.

“Let me grab my phone.” Mike's voice was louder this time, and when I heard a small scratch against the cellar door, I just knew he was close. All he has to do was press down on the knob, and I would be caught. “Oh, here it is….”

“Mike, Mike.” Someone else called, possibly stopping Mike from coming in. Relief and confusion nestled in the pit of my stomach when I recognized the newest interruption to be Ciara. “Wait up Mike.”

“What is it?” My breath hitched in my throat as the two conversed on the outside. If anything, Mike sounded furious at Ciara's interruption. “What do you want from me?”

“I'm sorry to bother you.” Ciara spoke up. “But I think the circuit breaker is broken. I guess that's why all the lights went out. Maybe you should go check it out.”

“Circuit breaker?” Mike muttered, almost like he didn't believe it. As the seconds slowly rolled by, I let out a silent prayer to the moon goddess that we wouldn't get caught. “Hmm, I guess you have a point.”

“Yes. Yes.” The last thing I heard was Ciara's words, before the receding doing of footsteps followed. Even after silence had settled just beyond the door, I couldn't stop my heart from beating erratically. That was a close call, and if Mike has somehow managed to stumble in here….

“Hey.” Jason bopped my nose, just to catch my attention and he laughed heartily at the shiver that ran down my spine. “Are you okay?”

“I'm fine.” Even my own voice betrayed me. It sounded croaked, and I was able to detect the fear tinging the edges of my words. “I'm okay.”

“You're not a very good liar.” Jason wrapped his hands around my waist. With a little pressure, he was able to pull me slightly closer towards him and I found myself giggling. “You were nervous just now. I felt it.”

“No.” I rushed out the words immediately. My tone came out as a tiny squeak and I mentally facepalmed myself for giving myself away. “ No, I wasn't at all…..”

“Then why is your heart beating so fast?” His voice was low. A low hiss slipped past my lips as he trailed his finger up my stomach, and stopping just in between my breasts. Without warning, he drew small circles on mound of flesh there and I bit back a moan. “Why? You should be calm, right?”

“I am.” My voice was husky. “I am.”

“If you say so.” He finally pulled his hand away from my body, after sending pleasant tortures down my spine. Time seemed to slow to a halt as he stared at me. Heat pricked at the surface of my skin at how much he held eye contact.

If he had any idea how much he was turning me on, maybe he would stop doing that.

“What's your name?” His sexy voice broke through thoughts and I paled immediately. “Why don't you want to tell me?”

I swallowed loudly. A lump lodged in my throat and no matter how hard I tried to push it down, it did nothing to help. My breath hitched in my throat, and if I wasn't careful, I wouldn't be surprised if I passed out in front of him.

“Don't be shy.” He pressed his hands against his thigh. “There's no way I could have the best night of my life without knowing your name. It wouldn't be fair. Plus, if I know you name, we can always pick up from where we stopped.”

I recognized the smug smile that made its way to his lips. He had a mischievous glint in his eyes, but it wasn't enough to cover up the desire in them.

.he really wanted me. He was telling the truth.

“Lily.” I whispered underneath my breath. “My name is Liliana.”

After what seemed like forever, I finally told him my name. Fear and curiosity wrapped itself around me, each one trying to overshadow the other. Now that I had told him, what was he going to do? What was his reaction going to be like? What if ……

“Oh my God, kitten.” Jason burst into a string of laughter cutting me off. “ you're hilarious”

“What?” It didn't make any sense. What had I just said that warrantee him to start laughing? I'd just told him my name and this was how he was reacting? Or did I say something else? “I don't understand.”

“You said you're Liliana.” He chuckled, on The verge of laughter again. “And I know that's a joke, even though it's not exactly that funny.*

“I don't understand…”. I muttered, just to be cut off by him immediately

“It's not exactly a funny joke.” He smiled. “Everyone knows Liliana. She's a total weakling and everyone knows her as a loser, so how could she be you?”

“Not only that, she's also wolfless. And a lady who's wolfless, is as good as useless.” Jason continued, obviously oblivious to the damage his words were doing. “Unlike you. The moment I stepped in here, you aura was what pulled me in. Your alluring scent is something that's specific to you and no one else, especially not a weakling like Liliana.”

Jason's words hit me square in the jaw. How could he say that about me. A million and one emotions ran through me all at once, ranging from heartbreak, to hurt and even down to anger. What the hell did he meant that?

Was it a crime that I hadn't gotten my wolf yet, and was that a criterion for me to be judged? Every bit of want or lust I had for the man disappeared immediately. It was almost as if his words had allowed me to see him more clearly now, and in an entirely different light.

Maybe Mike was right after all.

I stared at Jason one more time. He stool still, a smug smile on his face obviously still waiting for a response to his question. Before he could let any other words out, I did the unexpected.

I bit his arm. Hard.

“Ouch!” He yelled, his pupils flaring up in anger. “What the hell did you do that for?”

I said nothing, choosing Instead to revel in my mini victory, no matter how small it was. However, it didn't last too long.

In a menacingly low tone, Jason let out.  “You'll pay for this. I promise.”

A shiver ran down my spine immediately. Mike and Jason were two totally different people, but I didn't need the IQ of the world's best scientist to know that I was in a lot of trouble right now.

Shit. What was I going to do now?
