Liliana’s POV
Night came and all the Omegas who prepared the food, drinks, and everything for the pool party went into their quarters before the guests began to pour in, staying in as ordered. After school, I remained in my room because even with my stubborn attitude, I still hesitated to disobey the Alpha’s order. But I won’t deny that I want to see Jason so badly. The heat that had never left me continued to prick my skin like sparks as the memory of the dream danced in my mind. I had been restless, and I was excited to see him again tonight, hopefully, even just a glimpse of him from my room, on the second floor of the house which gives a view of the pool in the backyard of the house.
“Do not test me, Liliana.”
I sighed when I remembered his words. He never made a threat without acting on it, and I was a first-hand witness to that. If he said he would punish me for disobedience, then he would, no questions asked, and no mercy shown. I winced at the stinging memory when he had shown me what he could do. The searing pain that burned my skin every time his belt hit my bottom, or his strong hand whenever he spanked me— and he would tell me not to do it again, I would listen, and cry, and I would say it as he wanted, “Please, I won’t do it again”, I would beg for his mercy, I would apologize repeatedly until his anger was quenched satisfyingly.
Giggles and laughter from the pool convinced me to plop on the couch against the window and watched the ladies sporting their bikinis and masks covering half of their faces walk around with a cocktail in their hands. The men watched them with interest and lust in their eyes, several of them already had their mates and flings on their lap, and the others mingled with the unmated ones. The masquerade theme of the party made it more mysterious and thrilling to the guests.
It was rare for Alpha Mike to host a pool party and accommodate the neighboring packs, but for the sake of camaraderie and partnership especially with the incoming Alpha of Oseron Pack – Jason, he needed to establish a good connection with his pack members even though it has been known that they were good friends since the beginning.
I scanned the place and I could not find Jason. Perhaps, he has not yet arrived. However, at a distance, in a group of men, I spotted Mike talking to a few of his business partners.
Mike stood tall and proud, that even in my room, I could feel his power and authority, making me shrink in my seat, wanting to hide away, scared that he might see me watching them from above. His hazel green eyes were unreadable while he spoke, his lips moved with utmost precision in his words and ideas, his chiseled jaw clenched in every disagreement, and his pecs moved every time he breathed. My eyes then traveled to his abdomen and glued at the 8-pack abs he had earned in his training, fights, and activities. His strong biceps flexed as he took the beer to his lips, and I shamelessly followed his every move, mesmerized.
But when I met his eyes, I panicked and quickly ducked down, hiding at the backrest of the couch. He had caught me watching him while I was in dazed, admiring his physique. Blood crept into my cheeks, a blush painting my face, but when I thought about it again, I frowned, and groaned in disapproval. It was Alpha Mike, even though he looks really good, his personality still sucks.
“Jason looks hotter,” I muttered.
Just then, a knock came at the door and for a second, I stiffened, thinking that it might be Mike coming in to scold me. But I realized, Mike would never knock, and he would just barge in, so I stood and went to open the door, revealing Ciara, the only true friend I have.
“Ta-da!” she surprised, holding a paper bag in her hand, and lifting it to my face.
“Wow, you look good.” I complimented. Ciara was in her red stringed bikini, showing her curves and voluptuous breasts. It made her look sexier and I wished I had the same size. I was average in size, and no one found me attractive enough. Ciara, her physique was curvy and hot, in a way that several men had asked her out since she was still unmated.
Ciara made her way in and took out the contents she brought, “Here, wear this,” she uttered excitedly, showing me the black bikini she brought.
“Oh, no. I am not allowed to go there,” I said, sitting on the edge of the bed.
“What? Why?” Ciara asked.
“Well, Mike said so.”
“Oh come on, he is busy. He wouldn’t recognize you there.”
“No, I really can’t. He would get mad at me for disobeying him. And besides, I am an Omega, it is embarrassing to mingle with others.”
Ciara sighed and raised her eyebrow at me, “Seriously? Jason just arrived, you don’t want to see him?”
I looked at her in surprise, Ciara do know how to convince me. But the excitement immediately died down when I remembered Mike’s words, and I believed him. Jason would not like me, I am just an Omega who’s got no wolf. I am the lowest of the lows.
“He will be an Alpha soon, and with all those pretty girls out there, I doubt he would even glance at my way. And you know, I don’t have a wolf, he would just look down at me.” I uttered, falling back down on the bed, and staring at the ceiling in misery.
“No, don’t say that. You are beautiful, Liliana. Believe me, men out there will have their eyes on you, it doesn’t matter that you don’t have your wolf yet. It will eventually be awakened. Soon. So come with me, and we’ll have some fun.”
I contemplated for a moment, “Fine. Let’s go.” I took the bikini from Ciara and went to the bathroom to change. I stared at myself in the mirror and put a little color to my lips before letting my wavy hair down and wore the black feather mask, that covered half of my face. I was nervous that I might get caught by Mike, but fuck it. I want to see Jason tonight.
Ciara clapped giddily, a wide smile on her face, “Damn, girl, their eyes would be on you. I knew you would look great with it.”
“Well, I hope except for the Alpha’s eyes,” I muttered nervously, biting my lower lip as I glanced at the window.
We reached the pool and true to Ciara’s words, I felt the stares that went my way. They are probably wondering who just showed up, but I avoided their gaze.
“Wait here, I’ll get us some drinks,” Ciara said and left me near the pool.
“Who is she?”
“Is she from your pack?”
“She looks hot, go ask her name.”
I ignored the whispers and guesses about who I was. This is bad, I had attracted too much attention, Mike might find me here. The people in the pool even paused their games and looked at me like a new specimen that just landed at their party. ‘Well, sorry for crashing!’ I thought to myself and continued to scan the area, searching for Jason.
But as I looked at the other side of the pool, there he is, I met Jason’s eyes, watching me. For a moment, we held each other’s gazes, as if the world just went into a slow motion. It may be cliché, but that was what it felt like to see the person you’ve craved to be with.
Liliana’s POVJason stood up and I panicked. He did not break our eye contact as he moved to my direction, and I did not know what to do. So I shied away and decided to leave. I am not yet ready to face him. What would I say? He might only belittle me, just like what Mike had been always telling me. Jason is going to be an Alpha soon, and he would also look down on me just like everyone else. I have seen him numerous times before when he visits Mike, but to talk to him? I never did. The words from my Alpha haunt me to the core of my soul, and I don’t even have the spirit anymore to hope for Jason. As I turned to leave, a yelp escaped my lips when I collided with something hard. I shivered when I saw the person towering over me, his face was cold and furious, eyes were shooting glares and I did not dare to speak for I know that I have nowhere else to go. I’m caught.“What are you doing here?” Mike hissed. “Didn’t I tell you to stay in your room?”He grabbed my arm and roughly pulled me
Jason's POV The air was thick with tension, and if something wasn't done about it, I feared it would ruin the rest of the night. Apparently, I wasn't the only one with that thought process. All around me, the rest of the party goers shuffled their feet awkwardly, each and everyone of them not wanting to meet the host’s gaze. When hushed and slightly raised voices began to reach my ears, I just knew it was gradually blowing out of proportion.“Did you see that?” Someone whispered. His tone was pensive with a hint of mockery at the same time. “I never expected to witness so much drama tonight.”“I think I'm glad this happened.” Another voice spoke up, and it belonged to a woman this time. “The party was beginning to get a tad boring.”I tuned them out immediately, before pushing my gaze towards the scene in front of me. Mike had his back to me, and with the posture of his hand, it was obvious he was still cradling the spot where that lady had slapped him. With how loud the sound had
Jason's POV The world around me froze. My brain was muddled as I struggled to get a hold of what had just happened. Just a couple of minutes ago, someone's lips had pressed against mine. Was it real? The answer to my question didn't waste time in coming to me. A low moan reached my ears as someone nipped at my bottom lip. The feel of her teeth grazing over my lip sent chills down my spine and I shuddered. What exactly was going on?Dainty fingers wrapped around my neck, before snaking their way up my scalp. Her fingers did magic as they massaged my head, before tugging and pulling at the same time. That alone was enough to send me spiraling. With a low growl bubbling at the base of my throat, I parted my lips, granting her all the access she wanted.Pure bliss shot up my body as her tongue darted into my mouth. She tasted like strawberries, with a salty aftertaste that suggested she had been crying earlier. She smelled like vanilla, wrapped in cinnamon and I swear to the goddess
Liliana's POV My heart thundered in my chest at the words that had just slid past my lips a couple of minutes ago. I was known for always giving everything I said second thoughts before eventually spitting them out, but not tonight. Tonight, I was on fire, literally and metaphorically too.My skin burned with a heat that could only be traced to one person. We'd barely parted a bit to catch our breaths a little, but the tension in the air crackled, almost threatening to suffocate us if we didn't get back to it soon.Even in a million years, I never expected tonight to turn out like this. One minute I was scared and stuck in my room, and the next, I was in the cellar and making out with someone. Not just anyone, Alpha Jason. The mere thought of him was more than enough to have me warming up from the inside. Everything was just as it was in my dream, or even better. His hair had the same texture as I ran my fingers through it, and his lips, I would kiss them for the rest of my live
Liliana's POV The world around me seemed to slow to a halt as Jason's words rang loudly in my ears. My ears buzzed, and a small throb made its way to the back of my head. Why was Jason so hell bent on finding out who I was? Despite all of my attempts to distract him from knowing my name, none of them seemed to be working. No matter what I did, or what I tried, he was hell-bent on finding out my true identity, and there was no way I was going to let that happen. But if he found out, was it going to be that bad?Mike's words from earlier echoed in my ears immediately, like a painful reminder.“Jason doesn't like plain Jane's like you.” I dismissed the thought from my mind immediately. Alpha Jason and I were on totally opposite sides of the hierarchy. Without giving it a thought, I was sure if he found out my true identity right now, he would put an end to everything we had going on.“Cat got your tongue, little kitty?” Jason's low tone in my ear pulled me back to earth. I shivered
Liliana's POV The room was quiet, save for the tick tock from the clock hung way high up on the wall. It was a pretty black piece that matched with the dull pastel of my room, and while I usually adored it as one of the prettiest things in the room, I could no longer stand it. I wanted to take out its batteries or worse, smash something so hard against it that it would break. No, Liliana. I cautioned myself. The clock isn't your problem. And it was true. The piece of decoration wasn't my problem. In fact, I didn't even know what my problem was. I was furious, sad, heart broken and angry, all at once , and it was all thanks to one person. No matter how hard I tried to push it to the back of my mind, it always came back, and alongside that memory, was pain.“Not only is she wolfless, she's just as useless too.” Alpha Jason's words echoed in my ears. To be honest, I never saw him as the kind of person who could utter such words, especially not to me. I always wondered why he and Mik
Mike's POV “Where is it?” I muttered to myself as my eyes scanned the table in front of me. I'd lost count of how many times my eyes had scoured the table, but it didn't change anything. I still couldn't find it. “Where the hell is it?”A low hiss slid past my lips as I got up. I was sure I'd left it on my bedside table, so why wasn't it here anymore? Had someone snuck in and probably taken it? But who? Who would have come in here and taken it without my knowledge? My room was always locked, except for the night of the pool party. Was that when it had been taken? I shook my head. It still didn't make any sense. No one knew what they were used for, so why would they take it? I just needed to find it. I'm sure it's in here. It just has to be here.I headed to my wardrobe immediately. I swung open the wooden doors, and a loud creak followed, but I couldn't be bothered about that. One after the other, I pulled my clothes, before flinging them onto the bed. I didn't care about making
Liliana's POV I pressed my eyes shut, but only momentarily, reason being, if I were to stumble and fall, I would be left completely alone to deal with the pain and embarrassment that came with it. I wasn't alone, but I was sure before she would realize that I had fallen, Ciara would have had to finish talking about the man she just wouldn't stop talking about.“Isn't he dreamy?” Ciara's voice pulled me back to the present, forcing me to tune back into our conversation. “ You can't even deny that he isn't. He's just so hot it literally hurts.”I wanted to barf. Like literally throw up all over the walkway. If everything Ciara was saying happened to be how she truly felt about him, then she was in danger, serious danger, and needed help as soon as possible.“Are you even listening to me?” Ciara shot me a side glare and I nodded furiously. “Are you lying to me?”“No.” Yes. I wanted to yell out the words that she had no idea what she was saying and was totally romanticizing a total vi
