KAYDEN POV

Almost before the elevator doors could slide close, an ear-shattering scream came from out of the apartment I was in just a minute ago, and reflexively, I took off like a madman back to it. Panic tore through me as I threw myself at the door which was shut close, not even budging to let me inside.

Savagely, I began banging my fists against the door so hard, trying to get the attention of those inside just to let me in. The screams inside had quieted down to jumbled mumblings and I felt myself growing antsy even more. I may not know what the hell was going on in there, but I felt it with everything inside of me that something was not right.
