SKY POV

The morning arrived, and I woke up with a start. For the first time in a few days, the sun was actually dazzling bright and I could feel it in my bones that it was going to be a lovely day. Although it was a little moist from the heavy rain, I just loved the scent of freshness that swirled heavily in the air. I was scared of rain, I know, but goodness. That thing when it hits the ground is the best scent in the entire world.

My mind churned when I realized that I was no longer in the closet where I had been hiding last night, but tucked safely in my bed.

My memory of last night was in small remnants. I barely remember how I got out of the closet and got to bed, but I could have sworn that through the midst of fear and trepidation, I saw Kayden arriving and hugging me tightly. Or at least I felt him. But I couldn't tell, since it might have been the fear of rain playing tricks on my mind. It has happened before,

Not wanting to dwell on the thought because it was all fuzzy, I j

WOLF POVThe whole day marched on post haste, but I didn't complain. Right when I was about to leave for the night, I stopped and sent a quick text to Kennedy informing him and the rest of the squad that I would be joining, along with my ‘wife’. Man how I wish I didn’t. My phone buzzed with a lot of notifications as they all commented. Everyone just had something to say about me and my marriage. And somehow they were all so convinced that one way or another, I was going to fuck it all up and shit. Something about the way they taunted me irked me in a way it shouldn’t have. I know Skylar and I were not married for love or the monochromatic 'happily ever after', but did they really have to slap me in the face like that? Frankly, it pissed me off. The fact that everyone was waiting for me to boggle this whole thing up all but made me want to puke. Didn’t anyone believe that I was actually capable of embracing the change and letting go of the past? Or that’s what I made everyone think?

SKY POVThe date with Kayden was surprisingly… awesome? I guess?I would be a big lying ball sack if I opened my mouth to say I didn’t enjoy it. Not only was the food amazing, but Kayden himself seemed to be out of his usual… Kayden-ated mood and was easy to have a decent conversation with. For the first time since I have known him and got married to him, my husband seemed to be interested in what I had to say. At first, when he asked me questions about myself, I was taken aback. And admittedly, it kind of clicked subliminally that I should keep up my defenses. For all I know, he could be fishing for something, anything that would later be used against me. I mean I couldn’t just let go of everything and just go with the wind thinking that I was living a long honeymoon.Nuh-uh. I had to be a good girl and keep my shield up.That's what I convinced myself. And then he had to go ahead and give me the ear, probe, and ask questions all expectantly with that look that told me he was really

SKY POVThe weekend arrived sooner than I had hoped. And for the nights before then, I had to overwork my ass to complete the sketches of the new design I needed to be done during the course of the week while I am away. I couldn’t slack off only because I was out having fun.Even if I was going to a massacre, I would still find my way to get some work done.Donnie-Lyn asked some maids to do some packing for me, but I wasn’t fond of the idea of people going all about on my things so I settled with taking care of my stuff. It was just a week-long trip, on the water to be exact. Apart from swimwear, there was really nothing much to pack. Saturday morning arrived and eventually, we piled out of the house ready to leave and go for a suicide mission, only to stop dead in my tracks when I saw Kayden next to his Lamborghini, dressed in a three-piece suit. AND A TIE. A fuckin’ tie…“Ehhhhhh…” I said dropping my trolley bag to the ground and watching him as he worked on something on the car,

WOLF POVFIVE MALLS.Five freaking malls, that's what I have been doing since the morning. Parading around the malls looking for this and that. It was if Skylar had her batteries recharged and she was loose, going all up and about. The little waltz in her steps got to me just a little, but goddamnit. I was tired.“You mind changing into this?” Skylar asked innocently, shoving a pair of clean-cut jeans and some short-sleeved shirt. I took them slowly and eyed them,“Yeah sure. I guess?” Seriously, there were about millions of bags since we've been on this spree. And she was so supercharged just going around getting this and that and honestly, I didn’t understand what was the big deal. I felt pretty fine in my suits and they never really bothered me. I could literally write down a list about why I preferred them over all this vendetta of colors and shit. One of the reasons was that Samantha was never bothered by my suits on the getaways. But then Skylar…“Now chop chop.” She clapped he

SKY POVThe flight was pretty much uneventful, and since we were flying private, it didn’t even take a long time. Before we all blinked, we rolled onto the harbor in our rented Hummer. The yacht had long sailed so we had to take a motor boat to the sea, where the yacht was. Kayden was pretty much lively and buoyant about this whole thing, and I was excited for him. One of the shocking things I discovered was that our Kayden was a captain, knowing how to navigate all the "captainy" things. We packed up our bags into the boat, then climbed aboard. Not much was said because I was busy enjoying the waves and the sea breeze. The times we were just sitting in comfortable silence, I would sneak some pictures and texts to Diego who had something to say about everything I showed him.Honestly, he was my fuel, and I couldn’t imagine this horrible life without him.“On a scale of 1-5, how nice are your friends?” I popped the question causing him to look at me before refocusing back on the wave

  • My Sister’s Fiancée   Chapter 25

WOLF POVSkylar kept to herself the majority of the time. While everyone was busy yapping and talking about this and that, she just kept quiet and stared at her phone. I would give her a little nudge or a squeeze so that she would know she is not alone, and she would return it with a small smile before glancing down again. It didn’t take a genius to figure out that she wasn’t having the best time.“Alright...” Kennedy stood up and clapped his hands,“Who’s up for a race?” He grinned placing his hands at his waist. The men roared while the ladies cheered. Sky just stared at them in confusion,“Who is going to explain to the newbie here?” Kim spat yearning herself some scoffs from everyone, but me, I gave one single glare that made her swallow all the bullshit she was going to say next.“I’ll do it.” Olivia got up from her seat and stood in the middle, then looked straight at Sky with a grin,“So, the guys are the ones who do the racing, inside the water of course. We as ladies stand ba

SKY POVI couldn't shake off the uneasiness.Everyone tried to reassure me that Kayden was actually the best swimmer among all of them, but that didn’t stop the butterflies to dance in my belly when they all leaped into the water and raced to their balloons. It was comic, the way they lapped the water and swam to the middle, all in rhythm; it was seriously something out of the dream.“Here, drink this.” Te’a presented a glass of lemonade, and I thanked her before taking it, and then took a good swig before staring out into the water.“Look who’s coming back.” I fixed my gaze hard into the water and saw a pink balloon charging in the direction of the yacht. A small smile stretched on my lips before I started waving my durag in the air. I am not sure he could see it, but at least I wanted him to know that I had his back, just like how he had mine from the beginning of the trip till now.Honestly, he made sure I didn’t feel left out, which was something I was not expecting from him. Not

WOLF POVFUCKIN’ FUCK.Why the hell would I have cramps while I was all in the mood for charming Sky and shit? Just why now? It has been so long since I have had cramps that I even forgot about them, and they had to surface right fuckin now like a motherfucker.“Here’s some water.” Kim handed a glass of water to Sky, who took it without thought and held it against my lips.“Drink.” She said softly as she held my head up. To think that I had my head cradled on her lap because she insisted, and the fact that I loved it because it was so damn comfortable I could stay like this forever. was top tier. I craned my neck and took a big sip, then frowned at the taste of the water. “Tastes like shit. I don’t want it.” I said shoving the glass from my lips. She frowned and took a small sip, only to spit it onto the floor.“What the hell happened to this water?” She placed the glass to her right and then pulled my head back to her lap.“Kim???” Olivia called ou

EPILOGUE ~A YEAR LATER~SKY POV“Are you ready?” Arthur’s rough gravel voice called out from behind me causing my eyes to move from my reflection and land on his in the mirror. Dressed in an emerald green suit, he looked like a model who jumped straight off the photo shoot booth and came here to bless my day. Even though he had faint gray hairs in his thick mane, he looked his part and he knew how to pull one just the right way. I smiled heartily and stepped out of my seat, then walked to him and gave him a big hug.“You look amazing.” He said before accepting my hug, then rocked me side to side for a good minute and pushed back,“Kayden is going to lose it.” He said causing me to chuckle. “Now you're only exaggerating.” “He is not.” Samantha stepped from behind Arthur, dressed in an olive green gown that hugged her body well, only to split in half when it reached her thigh and pooled around her legs. To say she was beautiful would be an understatement.“Everyone is beginning to th

SKY POV~TWO MONTHS LATER~“One more surprise, Kayden, I swear you will marry yourself.”I huffed trying to push my big tummy forward and cradled my waist with my hands from my behind, then annoyingly stared at my husband-slash-fiancée who came out of the living room trying to hide his laughter, but only to fail miserably upon my clearly unfazed expression. He walked into the lobby to find me waiting for him, glaring at him and wanting nothing but to hurt his pretty face.“And I promise, this is the last time.” He tried to smooth as he walked passed me and placed himself right at my behind, with his front pressed against my back. I fought the urge to lean back into his hold and decided to stand my ground. I wasn't going to allow myself to be swayed.“Come here.” He didn’t wait for me to refute, no. Instead, he rounded his arms around me and supported my tummy from beneath, then gently lifted the bulging weight that was seriously going to kill me one of these days. I was well at the 39

KAYDEN POV“SURPRIIIIIIIIIIIISE.”The rest of the squad cheered as soon as I yanked off the blindfold from her face. She remained stoic for a few heartbeats before her mind slit back to the present, then started laughing and crying at the same time as she received hugs from the girls. The boys knew that stepping close to my woman was a big no-no, and that my pregnant woman was as unreachable as the stars. So they did all they could and stole kisses on her cheeks, which was still unacceptable, but then again, I decided to let them have their moment since they were enjoying this more than they probably should. 30 minutes later, we were seated on the floor watching as she opened bazillion presents bought by our friends. Honestly, I didn’t know they would go above and beyond for this thing, especially when I have all organized it in a short period of time. It didn't even take the full 24 hours but they were all in. “I kind of knew it was coming so I started preparing gifts,” Oli reveale

  • My Sister’s Fiancée   Chapter 77

SKY POVThe painful memories as well as the haunting shadows of agony were slowly swept away by the firm tides of time, and every day my body changed visibly and profoundly as the lives inside of me grew bigger and bigger. My daily life was impacted extremely and I knew it intimately I was going to have one hell of a hard time bringing the cubbies to life.It was safe to say the pregnancy wasn't all bananas as I had hoped, but with all that pain and struggle came love I never knew was possible. Kayden was aware of my struggles and how the pregnancy was taking a toll not just on my body, but on my mind as well, and my man did all he that was in his power to share the burden with me. As much as it hurts every day considering how big I was, I was really not complaining because this time, I got a very fair share of a partner who supported me greatly. He was with me all day long and gave up half of his work life just to be by my side. At first, it was just a milder thing but when time went

  • My Sister’s Fiancée   Chapter 76

SKY POVThe day flew by faster than I had anticipated. Cassie insisted on going here and there without getting rest and by now, I was beaten up so bad that all I wanted was to soak my feet in a tub of warm water and take a small nap. I was really tired and all of these seemed rather pointless.I get that she wanted to spend some time with me, do the girls’ things and shit, but I was so tired, especially after loitering the whole day. But then again, the look on her face made it all worth it. I don’t remember the last time she was this happy, so outgoing with a buoyant smile on her face. So I just let her have her moment and didn’t fight her.As promised, Kayden showed up after a short while to find us seated in a coffee shop with some dessert in front of us. As soon as he stepped into the building, I felt this magnetic pull that had me gazing in his way and there he was, dominating the small space looking like something sculpted by the gods themselves. He was dressed neatly in a blu

KAYDEN POVWaking up the way I did had to be, hands down, the best way a man can ever do. For the rest of the day, I had a slight jump in my steps and a burst of laughter in my voice. And there could ever be the only reason why I looked like I had a loose screw in my head. Skylar Babe Smith. It was safe to say that, that little sweetheart made me the happiest version of myself. And with every day that passed, there was no believing that I had the opportunity to be the one that woke up beside her in the morning. The way I was, the way I was smiling from time to time, I am damn sure I looked nothing like the usual sour wolf who wore an angry scowl for more than half of my life. And frankly, I didn’t care. I may have tried to keep my cool, and be the badass man I used to be, but it was just too impossible. And concealing the feeling I had didn't sound much like a thrilling idea. I was happy, and the whole world deserved to know because just a mere thought of that little vixen had my he

  • My Sister’s Fiancée   Chapter 74

SKY POVThe morning sun streaked across the room, bathing the surrounding with its glorious halo signaling the birth of the new day. A hot, soft yet heavy arm snaked around my waist, absent-mindedly pulling me closer to a wall of muscles and cocooning my back in a rampage of loving heat. A soft giggle escaped my lips when I felt a hot velvety rod nuzzled between the cradle of my naked butt cheeks, and the wild vixen in me prompted me to shift a little, just to get it moving. My moves were rewarded by a small groan and shallow breathing, as he continued frolicking around the comfort of his subconscious. The arm securing me in his hold tightened around me, and I fought a little to turn so that I could face him and stare at him sleeping happily. Gazing at his hard, yet soft features, my mind was suddenly flooded with all kinds of thoughts, especially the occurrences that had gone down the past few weeks. All the pain, all the hurt, only because of one big misunderstanding? That had to be

KAYDEN POVAlmost before her feet could touch the ground underneath the car body, I was right in front of her already hoisting her up in my hold. A small giggle tore from her lips as she circled her arms around my neck, her head resting on my shoulder. If I was not already madly in love with her right now, I swear I would have fallen right at that moment.“I can walk you know?” She said in a little voice, and I was happy that she wasn’t fighting me on this one. I gave her a slight nod as I continued my strides toward the house, being careful not to rock her body and God forbid, hurt my babies inside of her body. To think that there were little almost-humans baking in there, it was something so surreal that made me shudder whenever I thought of it. This beautiful woman was making my life complete in all the ways I never knew I lacked.“Kayden, come on. I am pregnant, not dying of stage 76 cancer.” She retorted and it was my turn to laugh. She can be so hilarious when she wants.“I neve

SKY POV*TWO WEEKS LATER*“I STILL DON’T LIKE YOU!!!” Diego exclaimed before slamming the door right on Kayden’s back, wrenching a burst of laughter from out of me. He returned from the door with a sly grin on his face before plopping himself right next to me where I was nuzzled cozily with blankets and shit.“Cut him some slack, will ya?” I threw a small cushion that was stuffed behind me to support my back, at him, and he expertly caught it before leaning back into the chair. “I don’t think I am ready to tell him that I have forgiven him.” He confessed causing my lips to drop in a lope-sided smirk.“So you are just going to keep him on his toes and have him guessing?” “That’s kind of a point yeah.” He huffed before staring blankly into the space.“He is the father of my god-kids, and yes he is really trying to make up for all the shit, and honestly, I am moved.” He clutched his chest and then let out a loud huff, facing me. I couldn’t help but snort out a very unbecoming sound.“
