Chapter 1

In the CEO’s office of Blizzard Group in South River City, Quinn Norris’ eyes widened as she looked at the young man in front of her in disbelief. “What did you just say? You’re my fiancé?”

“That’s right. Your grandfather promised your hand to me three years ago. This is the agreement. Read it for yourself.”

The young man’s name was Chase Collins. He took out a marriage agreement and passed it to Quinn.

Quinn wanted to die when she finished reading the agreement.

She was sure that the agreement was real because it was the writing of her grandfather, Charles Norris. It was even stamped with his personal seal.

Quinn took a deep breath. Her expression was cold as she asked, “Your name is Chase Collins?”

“That’s right.

Chase nodded. He could not help but stare at her.

She had a beautiful face and nice, fair skin. Even though she looked tense all the time, she could still easily mesmerize men around her.

Quinn was wearing business attire, which accentuated her voluptuous body, especially her slender waist. Even a professional model would not look as good as her.

When Quinn noticed Chase looking at her lustily, she said fiercely, “Where are you looking, you lecher?”

Chase gave her an infuriating reply.

“Nine points for the face and ten for the body. You make do for my wife.”

“You…”, Quinn was furious.

Did he know who she was?

She was the daughter of the influential and wealthy Norrises, the CEO of Blizzard Group, and a woman of great talent and beauty.

Quinn had built her company from nothing and grew it into a billion-dollar company, all without the help of her family.

Besides that, she was known as the most beautiful woman in South River City who had many young men obsessing over her.

The hillbilly right in front of her was in a black singlet and huge, baggy pants. He was also wearing a pair of dirty flip-flops. Besides a face that could more or less be considered handsome, his entire image could be described as outdated and a total bumpkin.

How could a boor like him comment that a woman like Quinn Norris could make do as his wife?

Quinn tried her best to hold back her anger. “How did you con my grandfather into giving you this marriage agreement?”

Her grandfather, Charles, was a shrewd man. How did he end up giving her hand to this country bumpkin?

Chase must have used some kind of trick to scam him into this.

However, Chase replied lazily, “Your grandfather was seriously ill three years ago. He came to me to help cure him, and I managed to extend his life by three years. He was so grateful that he drew up this marriage agreement and gave your hand to me. You can ask him about it if you don’t believe me.”

Quinn was taken aback but later replied sardonically, “My grandfather suffered a stroke and has been paralyzed for more than half a month. He's currently unconscious.”

The entire South River City knew that Charles was seriously ill and bedridden. He could not even speak. She wondered if the man in front of her knew about this. It could be the reason why he dared to lie to her about this.

Charles was unconscious?

Chase was surprised by this.

However, he later understood the reason for this. He had not managed to cure Charles completely three years ago. All he did was control the exacerbation of his condition, which extended his life by three more years.

Now that the three years were up, his injury had flared up once more, which was why he turned out this way.

Quinn thought Chase’s lie must have been caught when he stayed silent. She said frostily, “Chase, is it? I’ll be direct with you. I won’t marry you because you’re not good enough for me.

“I have many admirers who are either talented and ambitious young men in South River City or wealthy business magnates. I’m not even interested in them, much less someone like you.

“That is why I’d like to dissolve this agreement. What do you think?”
