Chapter 6

Anastasia's POV

I stormed out of the office, my hands trembling and my heart pounding with anger and hurt. Tears blurred my vision, but I fought to keep them back. Stephanie's words echoed in my mind, a relentless reminder of Antonio’s betrayal.

We had been the envy of everyone, an ideal couple, or so I thought. Now it felt like everything had been a cruel joke.

Why hadn't I seen the truth sooner? Antonio's deception cut deeper than I could have imagined.

"I will make them pay," I murmured through gritted teeth, wiping away my tears with the back of my hand as I didn’t want the office workers to see me break down.

As I approached the private elevator, Shirley rushed up to me.

"I'm so sorry about what happened, Ma'am," she said, bowing her head slightly. I exhaled sharply, nodding in acknowledgment.

"You need to stay calm so we can deal with this," she continued.

"I know," I replied with a heavy sigh. "Thank you, Shirley. I appreciate it."
