Alex Pov

His face was a storm of emotions, hurt, anger, and confusion. My stomach sank.

“Peter?” I said cautiously.

He crossed his arms, his eyes narrowing as he looked at me. “So it’s true, then?” he asked, his voice thick with disbelief.

“What’s true?” I asked, already dreading the answer.

“That you’re one of them,” he spat, the word dripping with contempt. “An elite. You’ve been one this whole time, haven’t you? And you didn’t say anything. Why? Were you using me this whole time? Was I just some… some project to you?”

His words hit me like a slap, and for a moment, I was too stunned to respond. “Peter, no,” I said, shaking my head. “It’s not like that. I didn’t even know until recently…”

“Oh, so now you’re the victim?” he interrupted, his voice rising. “Do you know how stupid I feel? Defending you, standing by you, only to find out you’ve been hiding this the whole time?”

People were starting to gather, their curiosity palpable. Phones were out, cameras flashing as they captured th

Alex pov As I walked into the hallway the next day, my eyes scanned the crowd, hoping to find a particular face. I noticed that the students were now minding their business, only hidden glances and hushed whispers,it was a far cry from what happened yesterday. The V.C, as promised, has taken care of it. I was thankful for that, I didn't know what she said or did, but it worked perfectly. I wear my normal hoodie and dark glasses to cover my sunken and swollen eyes. I did not sleep well last night. Constantly thinking about Luke and how he didn't call me throughout yesterday. Then I saw Luke standing by the lockers with his usual nonchalant posture, talking to a few guys from his basketball team. I breathe an air of relief. At least he is okay. I have been worried as to what his actions will be, finding out that I am not the poor boy I was. A nervous smile broke across my face, a flicker of hope rising in me. I pushed my way through the crowd, weaving between clusters of students u

Alex povThe thoughts of the badge was on my head throughout the whole day. followed by what it actually meant. I couldn’t concentrate the whole day, even in sports. The coach had to call me back several times, as I kept on spacing out. According to Andrian, it's a secret party for a select few. I slung my backpack well, crossing the gate of my college.“Alex!”I stopped in my tracks and turned. It was Luke jogging toward me, his expression earnest. His hair glinted in the sunlight, and there was something softer in his eyes now. Was he feeling sorry?“What do you want, Luke?” I asked, crossing my arms.He stopped a few feet away, catching his breath. “I need to talk to you. Pleassse, hear me out.”I raised an eyebrow but said nothing.“I’m sorry,” he began, his voice quieter than usual. “For everything, I know that you are hurt for how I’ve acted, the things I’ve said. I was a complete jerk, and I don’t blame you for being mad at me. I am sorry.”I blinked, taken aback by the sinceri

  • My Rival My lover   Chapter 59: The ride

Alex povI stood in front of the mirror, adjusting the collar of the black button-down shirt Linda had insisted I wear. My palms were sweaty, and my heart thudded loudly in my chest. The thought of attending an Elites party, a world so far removed from my own, filled me with unease.“You’ll be fine,” Linda said from her spot on my bed. “Just don’t let them see you sweat and tremble all around. It will spell doom on your face day. Confidence is key.”“You don't understand, Linda, this party is absurd. Firstly I don't know if it's some kind of a cult gathering and two of all people , Andrian, had to deliver the letter.”“Calm down, Alex, it's just a party” Linda tries to smoothen my Ties, but it is always shifting.“It's not just a party, a freaking induction, what if we kill someone, or drink blood, that's what happens in induction, right?”I was already going out of my mind. And to top it off, I don't even know where to begin. Or where to go to the induction. I only know that it will

Alex pov“Hey baby” I am sorry for not coming to carry you…” Luke began immediately when we met, but he had to stop halfway, as andrian came out of the car, with an evil smirk.I facepalmed myself, caught in between the two boys' beef. Luke's expression kept on changing from surprise to anger and back to anger. Guilt gnawing at me became words seeing his hurt face and then Andrian that had a look of triumph.“I am Alex Ride,” he said, staring at Luke.“And why you of all people, when did you start volunteering to be a ride” Luke asked, his muscles already stretched in a fighting stance. I figured that he would jump on Andrian anytime soon.“Incase you don't remember, dummy, the giver of the letter is mandated to be the ride of the new Elites. And don't worry, I am not stealing Alex from your little jealous self.”“Hey, hey” I stepped in immediately before things got out of hand. “am okay Luke he didn’t do anything other than to bring me here”“Yeah, nothing absolutely happened,” he

  • My Rival My lover   Chapter 61: the task

Alex pov We came out of a clearing. The walk was a long and excruciating experience, but we scales through. I was holding Luke's hands throughout. But I was not prepared for what was waiting for me as the clearing became visible to me. Gathered around the clearing where all the elites were in my school. Josh and his friend, plus other students. I spotted andrian also who gave me a wink. “He followed an easier track, cutting the whole journey short” Luke explained, as if aware that the question was burning through my head. That made a lot of sense. I thought. “But why didn't we follow the same shortcut?” “Because it's a must that you will follow the long road. It's a part of the formality.” I scanned my surroundings, as Luke was still talking, but something didn't look right. everybody was not sitting on the level of platforms. Some were higher than the others. And there were even the highest raised seats, but no one was sitting on it. “About the seats, that's a long cultur

  • My Rival My lover   Chapter 62: New feeling

Alex pov I stumbled back, my mind scrambling for an explanation. The man's eyes flicked from the graffiti-covered walls to the fuel-streaked ground and then to the lighter still clutched in my hand. His face twisted into a mix of anger and disbelief. “I…I am so sorry” I tried to apologize while making sure my mask was still intact. but his next words made me realize there was no need to. “Get the criminal,” the man said to the two security personnel. Without looking back, I turned and fled into the bush. I could hear the sound of their footsteps. They were right behind me. My heart was burning from the adrenaline that was pumping inside me. What have I gotten myself into? I heard a rustle. Before I could react, a shadow appeared beside me. “Run,” the masked figure said to me, their voice low and urgent. I hesitated, torn between staying to explain myself or escaping the chaos I had unwittingly caused. But the masked figure didn’t give me a choice. They grabbed my arm

  • My Rival My lover   chapter 63: Practice

Alex pov I’ve always known the Elites have their separate world, but being thrust into it felt surreal. They had their separate classes. The classrooms were decorated beautifully, rivaling most of the students' parlours at their various homes. The air condition, that's seen in only the staff offices where mounted all round the Elites quarters, plus everybody have their own personal system and seats that are permanently for you. My registration took almost three hours, and that's with first-class treatment and the V.C. personal overseeing the registration. From today, hence Fort, I will be attending my lectures in the Elites quarters. Linda and i wouldn't have much time anymore, unless only at the eatery. Or when we have a combined class, in that case, it was just two or three classes. The new teacher, Mrs Hopkins, was in class, but the other students were busy, occupied with whatever they saw fit. Somewhere scrolling through the device while others were chatting in small groups.

  • My Rival My lover   Chapter 64: The mystery melody

Alex’s POV I barely managed to remain calm, with the level of embarrassment and coursing through me. The sheer weight of the tension and scrutiny in the room was enough to suffocate me. The music prodigy glared at me, his piercing eyes practically burning holes through the silver mask that covered his face. His aura radiated power and anger, and I felt smaller than ever under his gaze. “I’m so sorry,” I stammered, bowing my head slightly in a desperate attempt to diffuse the tension. “Sorry?” His tone was sharp, almost mocking. “Do you have any idea what you’ve just done?” I swallowed hard, my throat suddenly dry. “I didn’t mean to…” “Of course you didn’t,” he cut me off, crossing his arms. “But you did. You barged in and disrupted everything.” “I didn’t barge in! The door opened, and I…” “Save it,” he snapped, his voice low but laced with venom. I wanted the ground to open up and swallow me. Why did this have to happen today, of all days? My first practice session with the

  • My Rival My lover   Chapter 109: Jealousy

Alex’s POVAfter freshening up, Andrian told me to get dressed. From his tone, he was sounding very optimistic about this outing.. Saying we had someone to meet. He looked way too excited about this mysterious person, and his mystery was a fine place he would love to show me. Which only made me more curious. When we stepped out of the room, I was instantly hit by the fresh ocean breeze. Even though I had come out of the house before, I was too engrossed in my emotional drama to not notice the nice otherworldly scene. The house, no, the villa, was nestled perfectly on a cliff overlooking the sea. It was breathtaking, small and cozy, for couples. I blushed profusely when the couple came to my mind. Andrian noticed, “why are you flustered?” he pinched my cheeks, which annoyed me the most, and made me blush the more. “Nothing” I answered, looking away as I aired the surroundings. my attention snapped back to reality when I heard a soft, feminine voice call out from the open patio“Andr

  • My Rival My lover   Chapter 108: I am sorry

Alex’s POVI grudgingly opened my eyes, unwilling to wake up because I didn't want to cut the feeling I was feeling right now. The warmth washed over me despite the closed binds of the curtains. For the first time in so long, I had slept very well, with no nightmares or bad dreams of being tied to the table like a lab rat. For the first time, I enjoyed my sleep.I blinked slowly, trying to regain my body's mobility, but discovered that I couldn't. It took a moment for my brain to register what the problem was.Andrian.His arm was draped over my waist, and his legs were tangled with my leg. I held my breath. Stopping myself from moving again so as not to wake him. Strangely, his rhythmic breathing calmed my racing heart, somehow ticking the base of my neck. He was close, too close, that there was barely any space between us. I could feel his semi hard length poking at my entrance. I didn’t move.I didn’t dare.Because if I moved, if I broke the moment, reality might come crashing

  • My Rival My lover   Chapter 107: Healing

Alex’s POV Warmth. For the first time in weeks, I woke up feeling warm. No cold, or sweat clinging to my skin like a second cloth. No racing heart. No echoes of the different nightmares, especially the nightmare of the man in my dream trying to do some things to me. All of it was gone. Just… peace. I blinked rapidly, my vision trying to adjust to the bright light of the sunlight coming through the curtains. The room smelled clean, like fresh linen and something faintly familiar, something safe. The aroma was so pleasing that I had to continuously take deep breaths. It's different from the usual smell of my room… And then it hit me. I wasn’t in my old room. The ceiling above me was different, the walls painted in a deep shade I didn’t recognize. The bed beneath me was smaller but softer than anything I’d ever slept on before. This wasn’t my house, nor my room. It was a different place I don't know about. Does it mean this is still part of my nightmares…, maybe after a few sec

  • My Rival My lover   Chapter 106: you are safe

Andrian povTwo weeks ago.I had almost been caught by my father.I had thought that he would not come back, but the bastard came inside right after going outside to answer call. My heart pounded as I heard him coming up the stairs. I could see the outline of his shadow, almost reaching the corner. There, I know I have only one choice. Jump. And that I did. I did not waste a single time. It's not time to think of the consequences of my actions. The thought of something bad happening to Alex drove me to Jump from a one story building like a ninja. Thanks to my acrobatics and fitness classes, I barely landed perfectly with my legs slightly bent before I had to break in a sprint. “Catch him”, I had heard my fathers angry voice from behind, but I was already in my car, speeding past the security before he could understand what was happening. Adrenaline pumped through my body. I hardly register the pain from the glass breaking. I might have had cuts from shards of glass falling o

  • My Rival My lover   Chapter 105: Recovery

Alex’s POVDarkness. Cold. Pain. That was all I felt throughout my body. I couldn’t move my body. I was back in that room. The putrid smell of blood and sweat in the air was choking. The rooms suddenly became suffocating, everything becoming blurry in my eyes. I was tied from head to toe, I struggled to move my body, but it was as if my whole body was paralysed, my wrist was tied down to a table, holding me in place. And then he was there. The man. The monster. His stinking breath was hot against my skin, his rough hands bruising my body. No matter how hard I thrashed, how much I begged and screamed, he didn’t stop. Not for once.He continued to flog me with the whip in his hands.“You’re just a weak little whore.”I screamed.I screamed so loud that the entire world should’ve shattered, but no one came. No one ever came.Until…BANG!The sound of gunshots rang in my ears. Suddenly the pain stopped. The man was on the floor, in his own pool of blood. My body was trembling, torn bet

Alex’s POV)I woke up to the cold biting into my skin.By now, I could barely feel my fingers that were already becoming stiff.I propped myself against the wall, staring at the dark, as if waiting for a monster to jump out.I was barely dressed, just my boxers, and my body ached from the blow that had knocked me unconscious before they took me.I have woken up to see myself in this situation. It had taken a moment before every sink into my head.I have been kidnapped.I didn't know how long I had been here. In the dark room, it's not easy to keep track of time. The room was dark. No windows. Not even the faintest hum of sound can be heard.Fear crawled through my veins, tightening my chest.I was scared. No, terrified. My breath came in shallow gasps as I pulled my knees to my chest, trying to steady myself.I was alone.Afraid.Lonely.And in that loneliness, my mind betrayed me, wandering from one sinister thought to the other. I could feel myself trembling with dread. In my desper

  • My Rival My lover   Chapter 103: The Big Reveal

Andrian’s POV I arrived at the secluded VIP hotel at exactly 10 PM. The place Viper had said we should meet up. He had sent the location immediately I had debated telling Enzo about it. But for some reason, I didn't. This wasn’t something I wanted anyone interfering with. No matter what. It almost felt sacred and personal to me. The hallway was dimly lit, and the guards at the entrance barely spared me a glance before letting me in. It was clear that this place belonged to the Davidsons. At the far end of the room, seated in a leather chair with an air of absolute confidence, was Viper. I had never met him before, but his reputation preceded him. Dark suit. Sharp eyes. A presence that demanded attention. He gestured for me to sit, and I complied, my muscles coiled tight with impatience. "Andrian." His voice was smooth, controlled. “Dominic” I asked, not showing weakness for a moment. I could see it in his slight shift of expression that he was caught off guard by me sa

  • My Rival My lover   Chapter 102: meeting viper

Andrian’s POVThe morning shine looked so dull. The surroundings look so gray. I stood by the window, admiring the ants that were walking on the window frame, each busy with its task. Waves of regrets. Different what ifs kept on piling on my head., likeWhat if I had not shouted at Alex? He would have still been in the ceremony without going out by himself. Or What if I had come a little too early, that I had come. What if I had acted on time, like telling Enzo about everything earlier, before I reached the site.Would there have been a different outcome?Different emotions were running through me.The cold locket between my fingers was the only thing that kept me from losing it all.Just like the photograph ash, it kept me from l falling off the edge ìn the dungeon.A wave of memory came over me. Andrian’s POVI stormed away, my hands shaking, my chest heaving with rage I could barely contain. Different emotions were boiling inside my body.I shouldn’t have exploded like that.I shouldn’t have let him get to me.But seeing Alex standing there, looking at me with those wide, guilty eyes, like he actually gave a damn, like he had the right to feel hurt, had pushed me over the edge."You disgust me."I meant it.Didn’t I?The words rang in my head, louder and louder,as I had lashed out at him. I was consumed by my emotions that I had lashed out, giving him my piece of mind. but they didn’t bring the satisfaction I thought they would.Instead, all I felt was this unbearable ache twisting in my gut.Did I go too far?. Was I too harsh on him?.As I wandered through the ceremony venue like an angel of death, a tiny voice in my head kept on disturbing me. I could have waited to hear from him. He had a lot to say. The way his little body trembled as I spat out those words at him.A p
