Alex pov

I stuffed my hands into my jacket pockets as I walked down the dimly lit street, what Linda had told me, replaying in my head. The truth about Andrian’s manipulation still weighed heavily on me. I could not believe that he would go to such an extent as to manipulate Linda to get at me. I had not done anything to him, but Adrian had made it his job to torment my life. Well, I won't stand still and let it happen again. Linda was my friend, and I’d fight to protect her, even if it meant facing Andrian head-on.

What struck me most was Linda’s courage. Despite everything, she hadn’t completely given in to him. I felt a little bad for how I had thought that she was avoiding me, maybe because she had betrayed me or was secretly working for the Elites or something like that. Little did I know that she was struggling to save her mother. And now, I had to do my part. I had to protect her and figure out what Andrian was really up to.

The chilly night air bit at my skin. I was on my way

Alex pov A chill ran down my spine. The name wasn’t unfamiliar. Who am I kidding? What is my name doing in the deed for a company? There is no way it could have been a coincidence. I have heard of Davidson Group. It was a powerful and a very wealthy company, but rumors are that the company ran out of funds, which was why it disappeared mysteriously. What was my mother doing with such a thing in our house.? Was she not just a secretary in a local bookstore.? What was the connection? These questions kept on running through my mind. The paper suddenly felt heavy on my hands. The logo. It was the same logo that had been on the complementary card. The man who had saved me from being kidnapped had given me the mysterious Viper. The connection hit me like a lightning bolt. I rushed to my room, my heart pounding as I dug through my desk drawer. The card was still there, tucked beneath a pile of old notebooks. I pulled it out, blowing out the dust that had settled on it. my hands trem

Alex’s POV The eatery was not anything special. It was a rundown eatery that is situated at the ghetto sode of the city. I stopped in front of the door. my hand hesitated on the door handle. My heart was pounding so loudly I was certain anyone nearby could hear it.Did I really want to know? The truth? About my name, Davidson, maybe it was just a coincidence, or i should wait for my mother to confront her myself instead of meeting a mysterious man. The truth sounds scary. And worst of all, It will be a deviation from my normal life, and I hated change, so, therefore, hating anything that might cause a change.Yes, I know that i might be a wissy or whatever you want to call me, but that's just how I see things.A part of me wanted to turn around, to go back home and lie down on my comfortable bed and pretend none of this was happening. But then the image of that deed flashed in my mind, the one I’d found in my mother’s room, bearing my name. And worst of all, Luke had told me about t

Alex pov “What are you talking about?” He sighed, leaning back in his chair. “The story you’ve been told, that your father ran away, that he abandoned you and your mother, it’s a lie. He didn’t run, Alex. He was hunted. By people who wanted what he had. By people who feared him.” “Feared him? Why?” “Because your father wasn’t just anyone. He was the head of the Davidson Group, a name that carried weight not just in Manchester but across neighboring cities. Power, influence, wealth, he had it all. And that made him a target.” Wait, wait, slow down a bit. Are you saying that my father is what? And that he owns what…?my mind was spinning to catch up. I know it's a lot to take in, but that's what it is. Don't blame your mother for keeping it from you. You are the heir, the only heir, so you see the reason for her to keep you away from all this.” “I don't believe this, it's crab,” I said, standing up in a hurry to start going home. “Thank you for wasting my time.” “Alex wait

Andrian’s POV The bass thumped through the air, drowning out the meaningless chatter around me. The dim red and blue lights of the bar flickered, casting shadows on the faces of people under the influence of alcohol and music. I sat in the VIP section, leaning back in my seat. None of anything that was happening around me mattered, not even the beautiful girl beside me that draped herself over my arm. Her fingers lazily traced patterns on my chest, but her touch barely registered. My thoughts were elsewhere.“Why so serious, Andrian?” she purred, her lips brushing against my ear.I smirked faintly. The kind I knew kept women intrigued, but my mind was miles away. The name Davidson and the puzzle surrounding Alex’s involvement had burrowed into my brain, refusing to let go.Just as her hand slid down, getting lower to my dick, my phone vibrated on the table. I reached for it, ignoring her disappointed huff. The caller ID read Enzo, my personal assistant.I answered immediately. “Talk

Alex pov The next morning, I stood in front of the school building, hesitating on whether to just go home and call in sick, or to carry on my day. my mind is still a whirlwind of emotions. The revelation about my father, Linda's betrayal, and the lingering sting of Andrian's presence haunted me, but somehow, I felt an odd sense of clarity, a grim determination to face whatever the day threw at me. I wasn’t going to let anyone see me crumble, not Linda, not Andrian, and definitely not myself. Walking through the hallway, I could feel eyes on me, whispers buzzing like an annoying swarm of bees. Snickers and insults like , “F*g” and “sissy boy” kept on buzzing in my ear. The person was intentionally loud so as to hear me. But it didn’t matter. I wasn’t here for anyone's pity or drama. All I wanted was to grab my books, attend class, and get through the day. But the day had another plan for me, I felt someone push me from behind causing my bag to tumble on the floor, pouring my proje

Alex’s POV Luke followed, still silent and slightly dazed, but he didn’t pull away. As we walked, I could feel the weight of Andrian’s stare burning into my back. Let him look. Let him see. I was done caring about him or what he thought of me. For all I cared about, he could rot in hell. “Hey, slow down, Alex. Why the rush?” Luke asked, pulling me back, his voice breaking through the haze of my thoughts. “We’re going to be late for class if we don’t hurry,” I replied, but even to my ears, my voice sounded off, rushed, strained. Luke grinned mischievously. “Oh, but why are your cheeks so red? Are you blushing?” I groaned, mortified. “I’m not blushing!” My words came out more defensive than I intended. I turned away quickly, clutching my bag tighter. Luke’s laughter followed me as I walked ahead, but soon enough, he caught up. “Wait for me, Alex! I was just messing with you.” But I didn’t stop for one second, I continued like I was being chased, pretending not to hear him. In c

Alex povI stood there, speachless and dumbfounded, as the words left the masked judge’s mouth.“Disqualified.”It echoed in my mind, over and over again, like a cruel mantra. My vision blurred, and the room spun, I couldn’t hear anything else except for the wild beating of my heart. The applause that had once been a thing of joy and satisfaction for my good work, noelw grated on my nerves. It seemed distant, mocking. I gripped my guitar tightly, my knuckles whitening as rage bubbled in my chest, threatening to spill over.“What did you just say?” My voice cracked, trembling with anger as I stepped toward the table where the prodigy sat.The prodigy leaned back lazily in his chair, his posture oozing arrogance. “I said you’re disqualified. You heard me the first time, didn’t you?”My stomach churned as I glanced at the other judges. Their earlier smiles had vanished, replaced by expressions of awkward discomfort. They didn’t agree with him, anyone could see that, but none of them dare

Alex's POV The walk home felt like eternity. All throughout what I could think about was the failed audition, the humiliation, and the way the prodigy had looked at me with disgust and loath. had looked at me, as if I was nothing. I s8ghed for the hundred times since the audition. I need to stop myself from overthinking. Having nothing to do, I stared at the nearby pavement, counting the cracks. Luke was beside me , he had not said anything since our walk home after school, but his hands were firmly clutching mine, silently offering his support. I guess he wanted to give me space. His usual playfulness was gone throughout today, an effort to calm me and allow me my peace. but I could sense his glances at me, like he was trying to gauge if I’d break down any moment. I didn’t want his pity. I didn’t want anyone’s pity. This is my cross and I will carry it alone. “Alex, let’s go somewhere,” Luke said suddenly, breaking the silence. I turned to him, my brows furrowing. “What?

Alex povI couldn’t be more thankful hearing the bell. Signaling the end of lectures. I rushed out of the class even before Mrs Green could even say “boo”.Sounds illegal, right? But seeing as the bitch was trying to get on my good books, because of my new identity, I guess she wouldn't be offended.I was already going out of my mind from all the pretense and forced smiles from those that have taunted me. Laughing at me when the Elites and Andrian made my life a living hell. It makes me want to throw up seeing how people change overnight.I breathe a sigh of relief, enjoying the silence of the closet that I had hidden in. Now is time for lunch, and I know going there now would be disastrous. After 30 minutes, I crept out, making my way to the cafeteria Wilhite trying my best not to encounter anybody.***********The appetite I had for food this afternoon died immediately when I entered the Cafeteria. It was like I wore a magnet and the students were a bunch of heavy metal. What surpr

Alex PovThe next day felt like the world had tilted away from its axis. I felt it immediately when Viper dropped me at the school premises. As I walked towards the school, my mind swirled with thoughts I couldn’t quite pin down. The revelation of my connection to my father, the legacy I hadn’t asked for, and the uncertainty of how it would affect my life, all of it weighed heavily on me. The words of viper last night were still clear in my ears, yesterday night, after dropping me in front of my house: “Lay low, Alex. The less attention you draw, the better for now.”That had seemed like solid advice at the time. And I plan to keep it that way. Wouldn't want my peaceful life to be destroyed. Like he said ,lay low. But the moment I stepped onto campus, it became apparent that “laying low” was no longer an option. Or rather, it was never an option. The whispers started before I even reached the main building. Small groups of students huddled together, their eyes darting toward me as th

  • My Rival My lover   chapter 53: Tricked

Alex povThe boardroom was like a courtroom. No, it reminded me more like an execution ground I have watched in movies. As I stepped out, my sagged shoulders felt like the weight of the whole world had been lifted from my body. I could know when I have been this thankful about leaving a room. The air felt sweeter and the silence that now surrounds me is giving me a chance to calm my nerves.I had endured the intense scrutinizing eyes. Like an execution ground, I felt like I was the lamb to be slaughtered while the richly dressed board members was my executioner, each with his or her own sword waiting for the right time. every glance, every whispered word, could decide my fate. The rich mahogany table had seemed too large, the leather chairs too stiff, and the air too suffocating.I had managed to descend the stairs, despite my shaking and trembling legs. My mind replayed the scene over and over, as if trying to dissect what had just happened. It had been fine at first, or as fine as i

Alex pov“Shut the f**k up” I shot back, my voice rising. “You show up out of nowhere, acting like you’re in charge, and expect me to just go along with it? Who even are you to me?”“Alex, calm down,” my mum said, stepping between us.“No, Mum!” I snapped, the words spilling out before I could stop them. “I’ve had enough of the secrets, the lies, the half-truths. I know what’s going on. I know about Dad, that he didn’t abandon us. I know about the inheritance. And I know that he,” I pointed at Viper, “is a secret agent of my father that has been pulling the strings behind the scenes.”The room fell into a pregnant silence. My mother’s eyes widened, and for a moment, she looked genuinely startled, almost like she would burst out crying any moment. But then, to my utter shock, a small sad smile crept onto her lips.“So,” she said, as if she was stating the obvious “you’ve known all along.”“What?” I blinked, completely caught off guard by her sudden shift in demeanor. She chuckled soft

Alex povI could hear the beat of my heart pounding frantically in my chest. The kiss started soft, tentative at first, as though we were both testing the waters. But the first few minutes passed in a blur, before everything began to heat up.“You don’t have to be so tense, Alex,” Luke murmured, his voice low and soothing, a warm vibration against my lips. His hand brushed gently against my cheek, and I couldn’t help but lean into his touch, savoring the warmth of his palm. “Just relax.”Relax. The word sounded so simple, but my body didn’t seem to understand it. My heart was racing wildly. I tried to calm down, but the intensity of the moment made it impossible. My hands hovered awkwardly, unsure of where to do with it. while Luke took charge of the kiss with a quiet confidence that left me breathless.Luke’s hands found my waist, sliding up my bare back with an ease that sent shivers trailing down my spine. • My Rival My lover   Chapter 50: The results

Alex povThe hallway was no different. Groups of students clustered together, their voices a mix of excitement and speculation. Normally, I would have walked straight past them, but something caught my attention, a line forming near the notice board.I had followed Peter, who was acting so mysterious, but he had disappeared on reaching the administrative block. And behind me was Luke, who had a scowl on his face. He had reluctantly followed. He was angry that Peter had interrupted us, but Curiosity got the better of me. I needed to see why Peter was so riled up that he would damn any forms of public shame. But I was not ready to see the enormous crowd before me. What was so important that everyone was lining up for it? I adjusted my bag and cautiously approached the crowd. As I drew closer, I caught snippets of their conversations.“Did you see his name?”“She totally nailed her audition!”“I can’t believe I didn’t make it...”My chest tightened. The auditions.I froze for a moment, m

Alex pov He turned his head lazily, his eyes meeting mine. They were cold and detached, but something in them flickered for just a moment before he masked it. “What do you want, Alex?” he asked flatly. The way he asked made me pause what I wanted to say. He had a lazy expression ,like he would care less about anything. Surprisingly, he had answered without any harmful remarks. His friends, where were they?. He continued to stare at me, waiting for my reply. Why was he asking me what?. Was I stupid to think that Andrian, the head of Elites in the school, has any bassinets with me. His piercing gaze glared at me,like he was seeing through my soul. Seeing my inner secrets. I cringed, Who was I kidding, I couldn't do it. I wanted to run away, but Viper's hard words flashed in my mind. I swallowed hard, forcing the words out before I lost my nerve. “I’ve decided. I accept your proposal.” His brow furrowed slightly, like he was not expecting something like it, for a momen

Alex Pov Luke. His warm brown eyes widened in surprise before softening into something gentler. He steadied me with a hand on my arm, his touch calm.and gentle. And a gentle contrast to Luke of yesterday night.“Alex,” he said, his voice low and calm, but there was a hint of something in it, relief?I opened my mouth, the apology I had rehearsed since I woke up, ready to spill out. “Luke, I…”But he cut me off, his voice firm yet kind.“It’s fine,” he said, his lips curving into a soft smile. “You don’t have to explain.”I blinked, startled. “What?”“Last night,” he continued, his gaze unwavering. “I shouldn’t have pushed you. I get it, Alex. You need time, and I’m okay with that. I’m willing to wait for as long as it takes.”His words caught me off guard. The sincerity in his voice, the patience, the intensity, the understanding, and it all melted something inside me. I had expected anger, maybe even resentment. But instead, here he was, willing to stand by me, no matter how compli

  • My Rival My lover   Chapter 47: different day

Andrian povMy father’s voice cut through the air like a whip, freezing me in place. My hands hovered over the keys, trembling slightly. Why the fuck was I distracted, too distracted not to see him coming. He stood in the doorway, his imposing figure framed by the dim light. His sharp eyes bore into me, cold and unyielding, and for a moment, the room felt smaller, suffocating. The memory of a little crying boy surfaced. The boy was complaining to his father crying for his sweets that were destroyed by bullies. But his father instead of consoling the little boy took even the reminder of the sweets in front of him, and crushed it to the ground while cursing how weak he was.The memories threatened to crush me but I stood, my back straight, masking the fear that clawed at my insides.“What is this?” he demanded, his voice low but venomous.I didn’t answer. What was there to say? That I had let my emotions get the better of me? That I had sought solace in something he had deemed weak
