Aria.

I should have known the moon goddess wasn’t done punishing me yet. It seemed like not giving me a wolf was just a start of the unfortunate events to happen to me.

The moment my eyes landed on Kai Blackthorn, leaning so casually in his stupid motorcycle, like he had all the time in the world and everyone else’s time centered around his, I felt a huge wave of resentment crawl up my spine.

He looked too damn smug for my liking. Like he was enjoying this. The power he had over me.

“If it isn’t my new slave, little omega.” He said smugly. “Did you enjoy your time with your friends?”

I swallowed my frustration, forcing my shoulders higher than usual. “Actually I did.” I said flatly, looking at the sky and then back at him. “So you’re my escort now?”

Kai cocked his head, his golden hair getting caught in the morning light as he smirked at me. “Escort? No. More like I’m here to get what belongs to me now.”

I crossed my arms. “Oh Kai, don’t flatter yourself. You’re nothing m

Aria. The motorcycle came to a stop in front of the family building I had spent the past few weeks in and I wasted no time in getting off, nearly stumbling as I tried to regain my balance. My shoulder ached from holding on to dear life during the reckless but peaceful ride though I’ll kill myself before I tell Kai that I had somehow enjoyed it. I took a step back, inhaling deeply as I glared at him. “You nearly killed me.” I snapped, brushing the loose strand of hair in my face. Kai pulled off his helmet effortlessly before running his gloved fingers through his blonde hair that had been tousled by the wind before giving me a smug grin. “And yet, here you are. Alive. You’re welcome.” He said, placing his helmet on the bike and resting his elbow against the handle. I rolled my eyes at him and crossed my arms. “Next time, I’ll take my chances walking all the way here.”“Oh, there will be a next time?” He asked, tilting his head, his blue eyes gleaming with amusement. “Good to know

  • My Quarterback Alpha   Chapter 1

Aria Langston. The screams of my people was what I remembered the most. Piercing, raw and endless. That had cut through the night like a steel blade and they were louder than the roaring flames of our house crashing down and the deafening sounds of wolves fighting just outside the door. It was pure chaos, the kind our parents had told us when we were pups. About bigger packs attacking the smaller ones for power and strength, the forgotten wars and history. But I was living in it now, this was real. This was my pack. Silverwood being attacked by Ravencrest. “Aria!” I heard my mother behind me, trying to pack what little important things we had and stuffing them into a bag as my father pushed the sofa towards the door to avoid the flames from getting to the room we were in. I couldn’t move as I watched what was happening outside, the gut wrenching screen from our neighbor as a big brown wolf burst open through their front door. “Aria Langston!” My mothers voice snapped my head tow

Aria. I woke up with a start, my heart hammering in my chest as if I had just been ripped out from a nightmare. Which I had. For a moment, I didn’t know where I was. But I knew I didn’t feel the comfort of home. The room was dim and there were low murmurs of sleep and the faint scent of wolves around the room. The pain in my shoulder brought it all back. The attack, the night everything changed. The midnight black wolf. The fear… I was in Ravencrest. The sting from the bite made me hiss in pain as I shifted in my narrow bunk bed. My fingers carefully touched the bandaged area on my right shoulder where he had bitten me. The wound was only partially healed because my healing process wasn’t as quick as it should be, due to my underdeveloped wolf. It’s been a month since that night, a month since I had seen my parents. A month since my home, my pack had been destroyed and we were dragged here to live under Ravencrest rules. I looked around the room, the sun rising and casting its

Aria. The air definitely felt heavier in here. Just standing in front of Ravencrest High School, I could feel the heavy weight of something bad settle deep in my stomach. A massive building stood in front of us, bigger and more intimidating than Silverwood High ever was. It was a towering structure with big windows that I could almost feel eyes watching us from them. It had black and silver engravings and the big Raven crest logo hanging from a flag. I resisted the urge to roll my eyes. I swallowed hard as I felt Lila’s arm grave mine as if nudging me to look at something. I followed her direction to notice some Ravencrest students heading into the school building. They were staring at us, sneering even. All twenty of us stood in front of the school eating what was left of our sandwiches because they hadn’t given us enough time to have them in the dorms. But at the sight of the Ravens, we stopped immediately as they looked down on us. It was clear from their first glance, we didn

  • My Quarterback Alpha   Chapter 4

Aria. The hallway blurred around me as my eyes locked on the name tag in front of me. Kai Blackthorn. Rank 1. Strength: 10/10. The numbers on the tag felt like a silent warning to anyone who gazed upon it. I had seen other ravens with 6, 7, but no higher. This was the perfect score, this was the highest score. This person was the strongest wolf in all of Ravencrest High. My pulse quickened as I felt a tingling feeling in my right shoulder where I had been bit. It was sharp and intense, different from the usual pain that dulled it. Instinctively, I took a step back as I gripped my textbook closer to my chest as if to shield me from the overwhelming presence of the person in front of me. But he didn’t move. He stood there, watching me. So I decided to look up, slowly, he was imposingly tall as I took in the sight of his polished shoes, his neatly ironed trousers and his white button up shirt with Ravencrest blazer that fit him perfectly and honed his biceps and stretched over hi

Aria. I was late. I was so late. My shoes pounded against the silent hallway as I rushed to my first class, clutching my book to my chest as I ran. I had spent the last fifteen minutes wandering through this moon goddess forsaken school, trying to find Room 105 where my first class was being held. And finally I stood in front of the door, I sucked in a deep breath before I pushed open the door and stepped inside. The moment I did, all eyes turned to me and the room fell silent. Nice entrance, Aria! The room was filled with about twenty students all dressed in their sharp navy blue blazers and dark blue ties, sitting perfectly at their desks. It felt like a cult how orderly they were. I swallowed hard and turned to the teacher who stood in front of the class. A tall woman with a gray fitted dress and hair pulled back in a slick bun and sharp, cold gray eyes that glared at me. “You’re late.” She said flatly and I nodded, chuckling nervously as I pushed my glasses further up my no

Aria. I leaned against the cafeteria wall, my shoulder throbbing faintly as I scanned the hallway for Lila and Maya. I rubbed my shoulder as the pain subsided for a second. I frowned, wondering why it seemed to flare whenever- “Aria!” I turned in the direction of my name and saw Lila and Maya through the crowd, running towards me. I smiled as I saw my best friend and walked towards her. “There you are,” Lila said before pulling me into a quick hug. “We’ve been looking everywhere for you. How’s your first day going?” She asked and I forced a smile as I nodded at Maya who looked around us as if scanning for trouble. “Oh you know. Just a typical day for the new girl. Was bullied by both the teachers and the students and I tripped over someone’s foot in class.” Lila winced. “That’s horrible. My classes were fine, most of them were with Maya so I had good company at all times.” “Lucky you.” I muttered, adjusting the strap of my bag before sighing heavily. “But hey, at least I got det

Aria. The tray of spaghetti hit me square in the chest, the cold noodles and sauce splattering over my new uniform and across my face. The cafeteria erupted into laughter, the sound deafening as the other Ravens joined in throwing food at us from all sides. I didn’t move, I stood frozen, not believing what was happening. My heart pounded as laughter and jeers echoed around me. My shoulder throbbed from the food impact and I could feel blood mixing with the sauce from the spaghetti. But the physical pain was nothing compared to the humiliation that burned in my chest. I blinked back the tears, refusing to give them the satisfaction from seeing me cry. Beside me, Lila was trembling and already crying, her uniform stained with food as well as every Silverwood wolf around us. From the corner or my eye, I saw Maya standing at the edge of the crowd. Her face was pale as tears ran down her cheeks. She looked guilty as she clenched her hands beside her like she wanted to intervene but did

  • My Quarterback Alpha   Chapter 11

Aria. I stirred awake to the feeling of fingers brushing against my forehead, my mothers touch pulling me from the comforts of sleep. For the first time in months, I had slept well, and despite the scratchy blanket and stiff, thin mattress beneath me. There had been no nightmares, no angry shouts of Mrs Holt. Instead just warmth. Not the warmth that came from the small fireplace that burned in the middle of the room but the warmth that came from having my parents close by. Blinking in the dim of the light, I woke up to find my mother kneeling beside me and stroking my hair, a gentle smile on her lips. Her brown hair climbed to her skin because it was damp. “Good morning, sweetheart.” She murmured her voice soft as she helped me sit up and I rubbed my eyes and looked to see my father sitting at the edge of the bed. He had a towel in his hair as he tried to clean off steam from his glasses. “Did you guys take a shower?” I asked as my mother nodded. “Twice every week they le

  • My Quarterback Alpha   Chapter 10

Aria. The moment the door slammed behind me, I braced myself for the worst. Cold damp air clung to my skin as the guards pushed me forward roughly. My wrist ached from the metal cuff that burned through my skin. I was in the dungeons. A filthy and dark hole where they left my people to rot the rest of their days away. As they led me deeper, I noticed something was wrong. The air was stale but not rancid and there weren’t any painful screams or rattling chains. The walls were carved in stone and it felt cold as we passed through the narrow dimly lit hallway. And then the guard stopped in front of a heavy iron door as they yanked my hand and removed the cuffs before pulling the heavy door open and pushing me inside what seemed to be an underground chamber. “Enjoy your stay. We’ll be back in the morning in case you change your mind.” One of them said coldly, shoving me into the room as I fell forward. I landed on my shoulder as I bit back a scream. The door clanged shut behind me, t

  • My Quarterback Alpha   Chapter 9

Aria. The dorm was eerily quiet when I stepped in. And as soon as I did, twenty pairs of eyes stared back at me and I instantly noticed the room filled with unease. Some started at me sadly while the others was with hostility. I felt the weight of their stares weigh me down like a thousand pounds and I forced myself to walk towards my bunk feeling the ache of it on my shoulder and making my body heavier to move. Lila was the first to move, she took a step towards me, grabbing my arm gently as she pulled me into a hug. I sighed in relief as I melted into her embrace as tears stung at the end of my eyes but I blinked them away when she pulled herself off me and looked down at me as if checking for any new injuries. “Aria?” She asked as I took a seat on her bed despite staining it with food but I couldn’t hold myself standing anymore and the weight of the stares didn’t help at all. “What happened? We saw Kai drag you away and then this announcement. Are you—” “I’m fine.” I mutt

  • My Quarterback Alpha   Chapter 8

Aria. The silence in the empty classroom was suffocating, it felt like the walls were closing against me and with Kai being so close, I felt like I could faint at any moment. My heartbeat pounded against my chest and my breath came out shaky. Kai Blackthorn stood in front of me, his piercing blue eyes locked into mine, dark and unreadable. There was something about his presence that felt like a dark storm cloud, swallowing the air and bright lights waving a dark forbidding presence. “You’ll find out soon enough, little omega.” He said, his voice low and laced with a bit of teasing. But I knew he was far from making light jokes. The words lingered in the air like a threat, curling around my throat and making it impossible to even breathe. “What do you want, Kai?” I asked, swallowing hard and fighting the urge to bite down my lips, like I did when I was nervous. He tilted his head slightly, watching me for a second. His expression was unreadable but there was a dangerous gaze in tho
