Jason.I felt a sharp pain on my neck the minute I felt the sun on my face. I let out a soft groan and sat up, trying so hard to wonder why I was in such pain. I tried to recall what might had happened the previous night, but my memories seemed to be quite foggy. Just then, I saw James, laying beside me. He had a slight cut running deep into his cheek. His legs were bruised and his arms had a deep cut running through it. My eyes darted to another angle and I saw Claire laying there, looking quite lifeless. I jerked up at that point and ran over to her, trying so hard to keep my feet steady since I had no idea of what had happened. When I caught sight of James, I had thought that we had a fight because that was quite usual. We hated each other to the core and it wasn’t surprising if we got into a fight the previous night, even if I didn’t remember.“Claire! Wake up”, I screamed out of my lungs, tapping her and shaking her fervently. She mumbled some inaudible words and made to ope
Kayla. After the encounter with that same weird creature last night, I decided to leave and take some distance away to clear up my head. I had made a deal with the creature, a deal which I had no idea of what it’s repercussion would be on me.But then, I had no other option. If I didn’t make that deal, the fight would have continued until each of them killed themselves. I stirred on the grass where I slept on last night. It was morning already and I felt so empty. My heart suddenly felt weird and I had no idea of what to do about it. I came into the forest to find answers about my mothers death, but then, I ended up having an encounter with a creature and then, returned to the beginning point of the forest where I met my step brothers who had company. This was definitely crazy. Not only that, everyone seemed to be blaming me for what happened and yes, I suddenly felt a wave of self guilt. It was my fault after all, despite how hard I tried to encourage myself that it wasn’t. If
Kayla “James, can you hear me?” I asked as I tapped him fervently, hoping that he would open his eyes, even for a minute. “Claire! Ethan”, I called out again as I walked over to them. They mumbled some inaudible words but that was all. Their state of unconsciousness still had a strong grip on them. “What are we going to do? Why are they not waking up?” I asked as I turned to Jason who had his hands folded to his chest. He had a massive frown on his face and it wasn’t hard to see that he already concluded that I was the enemy. “Look…I didn’t do this! I can swear that I didn’t do this”, I cried out, with tears pouring out of my eyes.“I would believe you if only you bring them back to consciousness”, Jason said and I opened my mouth in shock.“Consciousness?” I asked and he nodded his head in affirmation. How was I going to bring them back when I had no idea of why they were in such state? What does he expect me to do?“I have no idea of what to do. I mean, I didn’t do this to them.
Jason Kayla pointed out that she had something to say to me and inasmuch as I was enraged at the moment, I could tell that whatever it was that bothered her was quite serious. “What do you have to say?” I finally asked, lifting my eyes to stare at her terrified look. She swallowed hard and stood up, dug her hands into her head and blew out hot air. It was clear that she was trying so hard to figure out the exact way to kickstart the conversation. “Well, something is wrong with this forest and whatever it is did this to them”, she said while i folded my hands to my chest and looked at her. I gestured for her to proceed with what she said since I wasn’t ready to make any conclusions until she was done with the tale. “I felt it last night when you started fighting with James. There was another presence here and …and I met it”, she said and for a minute, I thought that I’ve just heard wrongly. I looked at her intently, with an unbelievable look on my face. “You met it?” I asked
KaylaI told Jason the truth, but he didn’t seem so convinced. At this point, I knew that I had to do what I could to bring them back to consciousness. Jason was beginning to feel that I could do something but was intentionally holding back and so, I had to try doing something. My eyes darted to James, Ethan and Claire and unknowingly, my heart sank in utmost agony. I was so pained as I knelt down, with tears dripping out of my eyes.“I command you to wake up”, I said to James, with my entire attention and strength focused on him. I wanted him to wake up or stir at all cost and I wasn’t ready to stop until that happened.“I command you to wake up!” I said again as I closed my eyes and focused my entire energy on him. I knew that my powers weren’t supposed to work. The beast had told me that my powers wouldn’t work, even if I made use of it with an amplifier. However, I wanted to try and see what would happen. My head swirled at that point and a wave of dizziness struck me with full
Jason My heart raced as I stared at Kayla who wasn’t making any attempt to stop her quest to bring them back to consciousness.I’ve never seen Kayla in so much pain and discomfort. She was bent on bringing them back even if she was losing herself in the process. “Kayla, please, stop!” I mumbled under my breath as I blankly stared at her, without an idea of what next to do. I sniffed hard when she continued muttering those her magical words that didn’t do anything other than make her nose blood. Just then, she screamed in pain and landed on the ground, turning almost lifeless. The world stopped and for a minute, I wished that I was only having a bad dream. I pinched myself hard and gulped down hard, wishing that she would get up and look at me. Minutes passed and she remained there on the ground, almost lifeless…“Kayla! Wake up!” I screamed as I rushed over to her, tapping her heavily and praying that she would stir. She remained in that state, not moving an inch. I looked aro
EthanIt felt as if I’ve been away for years…as though I’ve been asleep for a very long time. I woke up and found myself on the hard ground of the forest and slowly, memories of all what happened started flowing in.Kayla was looking at everyone of us, with a mixed expression she tried to conceal with her smiles. I could tell that something was off, even if I couldn’t place my hands on what it was.I knew I owed Kayla and apology and I was willing to give that to her as long as it would make her feel better. Jason walked up to me some minutes after Kayla walked away and i ceased that opportunity to ask him about what happened.“Can you explain everything?” I asked Jason who took in a deep breath and folded his hands to his chest. He had a small look of guilt on his face and from what I observed, he blamed himself for a majority of what had happened.“Maybe, we shouldn’t have blamed Kayla for anything, even if we were so angry”, Jason started, prompting me to turn cold.“I’ve never s
KaylaEthan was the only person I could talk to. No, I didn’t really say much to him, but I could bear being in his presence unlike Jason. Jason disgusted me to the core and right now, my heart was sealed each time I thought of him. Ethan apologized and I understood. He was the most intelligent and understanding from all of them and so, it wasn’t hard to place my hands on the reason why they reacted in the way and manner they did. “I missed you, Kayla”, Ethan said as he took a hold of my hands and placed a soft kiss on it. I stiffened and wore a small smile on my face. Just then, my eyes darted over to Claire and my heart skipped a beat.“Did you just think of the fact that we are…”, I trailed off as I gazed at Ethan who was suddenly looking as if he had just seen a ghost. “Shit!” He yelped as we both shifted our eyes to gaze at Claire who was now looking at us. From the look she had on her face, it was not hard to point out the fact that she already knew we were mates.“She kno
Third person. A month after the death of the Alpha King and the rift between Kayla and the quad, she decided that it was time to let them in on everything that happened when she was at the forest. She wanted them to know that she had to choose just one of the quad as her mate for life and that was the instruction from the moon goddess. She broke the news to them one morning and the shock on their faces showed that they weren’t expecting to hear something like that. “But she chose you as our mates!” Ethan cried out. He was quite pained to hear such, even if he hadn’t really said so much words to Kayla. “You will find another mate once I make my choice”, Kayla explained as they both exchanged glances with each other. They gulped down hard and nodded, gesturing for her to go ahead with making her choice. “And so, who are you picking?” Jake said as he stared at her, as though he wished that she would choose him. Kayla stared at each of the quad, with tears dripping out of her eyes.
KaylaIsn’t it funny, the way live goes? How things start up on a bad note, only to transit to being good and then, return back to being bad. The quad had been a thorn in my flesh right from the very beginning but when they turned out to be good, I had a change of thought about them.It was crazy to witness a time when they returned back to being mean and nonchalant about things that concerned me, their mate. This was exclusive of Jason, who despite all, took me in and told me that he still needed me around. That gave me a sort of hope…if Jason wanted me, then I’m just fine. The strange woman whom I had met during my journey in the forest had told me that I could only choose one of the quad and I just knew that Jason was going to be that one. None of them knew about that, at least not yet. I had no idea of what such information would bring but I was getting ready to bring them in on it the moment I felt was right. “What are you thinking of?” Jason asked as he walked over to me,
Third person. Kayla swirled around to meet Jason, who had his hands inside his pocket and his gaze lowered to the ground. He had a small smirk on his face, and a questioning look that sort of asked the question of why Kayla would ever think of leaving the pack. “Jason?” Kayla called out, quite surprised to see him there even though she wasn’t so convinced that he would want her to stay back. As long as she was concerned, she was unwanted at the pack and has always been unwanted at the pack. “Where are you going to?” Jason asked again as he took another step closer. He has this fierce look on his face that suggested how he was both pained and confused by her decision. “I’m leaving”, she replied with a voice that sounded like a whisper, trying so hard to avoid gazing into his eyes. Jason gulped down hard and darted his eyes away again. “And why are you leaving?” He asked as he rolled his eyes at her. “No one wants me around. You all think that I’m a danger to your pack b
KaylaI sat on my bed as every memory I ever had at the pack started pouring back into my brain. I blinked off the tears that welled up in my eyes as I stood up and strolled over to the window. A huge part of my life was in this pack, and although most of it turned out to be terrific, I still didn’t want to leave. However, I needed to because despite how hard I wanted to make amends with the quad, they weren’t willing to do so. I finally packed up my bad and started making my way out of the pack. I could have easily made use of my powers to vanish and never be seen, but for some reasons, I wanted every single person at the pack to see that I was leaving indeed. Just as I approached the gate, I felt someone watching me. I swirled around and tried to place my hands on who it might be but I couldn’t. At this, I ignored the weird feeling and trudged further away. And then, I heard what sounded like footsteps. It was clear that someone was following me but whosoever it was didn’t want
Kayla It was high time the entire fight came to an end. I was exhausted and needed someone to cling on but that seemed to be impossible because every single person deserted me. “Please, let’s make peace”, I said to Jason who was looking at me as though he had just seen a ghost. Despite how hard he tried to avoid having an eye contact with me, I could tell that he missed me as much as I did.“Kayla, everyone needs space at this point and it’s only cool that we leave things the way they are”, he explained just as I searched through his eyes as though I could really tell what he felt. “That’s not true. Deep down your heart, I know that you want all of these to end. I know that you desire me. I know that you want me. I can feel it in my bones”, I said in a whisper as I used my hand to caress his cheeks softly. He froze the minute my hands touched his skin and that was yet another confirmation of what I had just said. There was no need extending the situation when we could have peace a
Third person. Everything remained silent for a couple of days. However, the silence that reigned over the entire pack was one filled with so much tension. The quad were lost and unable to think of how to proceed with carrying their responsibilities as alphas. Kayla on the other end couldn’t tell if she wanted to leave the pack or remain there, especially because the entire quad was mad at her. Jason was not left out too. He was usually the one standing so firm behind her. It was quite heartbreaking to see him look away from her. She took slow steps out of her room, not failing to observe how the members of the pack shivered immediately they set their eyes on her. She was truly exhausted and all she wanted at the moment was peace. She hated being a reason to be talked about by the entire pack. Just as she walked, she bumped into someone and that prompted her to travel all the way to the ground. She let out a deep sigh after which she rubbed her hands that was terrible hurtin
Third person. Kayla ran out of the scene as fast as her legs could carry her, not sparing anyone of them a glance. She never intended to make use of her powers but it seemed as though her powers reacted in time it sensed danger “I don’t like this! This is becoming one crazy rollercoaster and I’m certainly not ready for this”, she cried out the minute she got into her room. “But you miss them…”, her wolf whispered and for some seconds, her cries turned to silent tears. “I do…but I doubt that things would go back to how it’s been”, she said, her heart broken to a thousand pieces. The quad were still hiding inside their various rooms, in their mourning state. On my part, I was cold and numb as I sat in the garden. I had a lot of thoughts in my head and even if I direly wanted him to apologize to me, I didn’t wish his death. Third person. Kayla and Jason were just in the middle of sharing a warm hug when a voice interrupted from behind, causing them to swirl abruptly. “Yes! She is a threat to this pack and if anything, she should be eliminated”, the voice added and slowly, Kayla lifted her head to meet that of the owner. It was Mason. Her heart dropped as she took down a very big gulp of her own saliva. She jerked up to her feet, lowered her eyes to the ground and drew in a very deep breath. “Mason, I understand how you feel. I felt that same way when I learnt of my mother’s death. Trust me, I was hurt to the core”, Kayla tried to explain but that seemed to further infuriate Mason. Mason eyes were on fire as he glared at her in rage. It felt as though she was responsible for their entire predicament. “Your mother’s death? Was that why you did this?” He asked with a broken voice and again, Kayla’s heart missed a beat. She couldn’t tell if she was sharing their pain because she was also their mate,

I had a lot of thoughts in my head and even if I direly wanted him to apologize to me, I didn’t wish his death. He brought his death upon himself though because he had thought that Denver’s pack was at peace with him. That was the major mistake that allowed his death. Just then, a loud wail came booming directly into my ears and abruptly, I felt a cold shiver running down my spine. It was Jason. My heart broke into a thousand pieces as I held myself from jerking up and running towards his room. They hated me and I knew it. I had refused to help them with my powers even though they screamed and asked me for help. What was I meant to do? Save the man responsible for my mother’s death? That was something I would never do. A tear dropped out of my eyes as I clutched on to my chest and broke into a very silent sob. This might just be the re
