The Alpha king stared at Kayla who was staring back at him without a glint of fear in her eyes. He had seen that look in someone’s eyes before; her mother. “Do you know what happened to my mother?” Kayla asked and for a minute, the Alpha king thought that he had just heard wrongly. He stared at her intently, trying to calm his raging heart just as he wondered if he was only in a dream. “Your mother?” He asked with a shaky voice that communicated a high level of guilt. “Yes. My mother. News have it that you did something or knew what killed her”, Kayla dropped.
Ashley and Bianca returned back to the pack some days later. They had gone to the academy to get some information about Kayla and to their utmost surprise, they came across something they never thought of or imagined. It was a book at the library. This book talked about a prophecy about the Luna and how she possessed a power. It also went on to talk about how her daughter might possess the same power. Ashley was the first to get hit by one of the topics there. “Memory? Tampering with one’s memory”, she said as she turned to Bianca who was as shocked as she was.
Third person. Kayla caught sight of the smirk on Ashley and Bianca’s faces and something didn’t sit right with it. She could swear that something was wrong even if there was no way to confirm that. Her first instinct went to the fact that they might have gotten a wind of information about what she was and the various things she was capable of doing. This looked quite true but then, she had no idea of where they would get such information from and so, she decided to remain silent. After a while of being disturbed, she resolved to meeting with the quad and explaining things to them. “I think they know something”, Kayla explained to Jason and Ethan who looked at her in shock. “I don’t think so. You already made them forget the part they knew about us. What makes you think they know”, Ethan asked as he fixed his gaze on Kayla who looked restless and quite uncomfortable. Inasmuch as she had great powers that were capable of keeping her safe from evil, she couldn’t be careless. “They
Ashley and Bianca made their way to the Alpha king study, feeling quite nervous but excited because of the news they had at hand. They could tell that they information they had at hand was very sensitive and the alpha king would definitely kill to listen to it. At this, they took in a very deep breath and braced up to meet with him.“Do you have an appointment with him?” A guard asked by the door of the study, with a small frown enough to discourage the both of them. “We don’t have any information here. But then, I can assure you that the alpha would want to listen to what we have here”, Ashley said with a firm voice that caused the guard to look at her curiously.
Kayla. I watched Ashley and Bianca walking out of the alpha’s study and for some reasons, I didn’t feel so good about it. They were absent for a couple of days and they only gave me the thoughts that they were up to something against me. I wasn’t wrong though because the events that happened much later showed that I was in for real trouble. I was sitting by the garden, lost in thoughts when I saw some guards walking over to me, with a big frown on their face. They never liked me and the feeling was mutual with me. However, I could tell that this was something worse.
Third person. Jason looked at Ethan as though he was in a dire need for help. Jake and Mason were blank and the quad all sat before the council who were sitting directly opposite them. The Alpha king was sitting on his chair, looking at everyone with a look of pain and displeasure in his eyes. The quad could tell that something was wrong and thoughts of what it might be scared them to the core. “What is going on? Why are we sitting here with the council?” Jason asked his brothers through the mindlink. Ethan took in a deep breath and turned to look at his father, as though he was trying so hard to make out what his father might be up to. “I think he knows something. He has a strange look on his face and whatever it is must be so serious”, Ethan replied through the mind link and again, the entire quad went silent. Minutes passed and not a single person was making an attempt to talk. They just stared at each other quietly, with their faces carrying a thousand thoughts. “Something
Kayla. When the guards took me away and led me into the dungeon, I knew that there was trouble building up. Not only that, I knew that the trouble had come because my secrets were now in the open. How much does the alpha king know? That was the one question I had in my head just as I stared into the darkness that took a hold of me. I could easily use my powers to disappear or bring down the dungeon, but I knew that doing that would make things worse. The seer had told me that showing myself would place me in trouble and I wasn’t ready to make that happen.
Third person. Kayla blinked off the tears that welled up in her eyes. She tried so hard to think of what to do but her head was blank. She looked at the quad who didn’t seem to have much to say. They were lost and in a fix and she knew it. “This is the person. It’s my step daughter, Kayla”, the alpha King said and next that followed was hushed voices of the council members. Not a single person was willing to believe that the powerful person the prophecy spoke about was Kayla. “My Alpha. We would like to know where you heard such an information from. As we all know, there are different versions of every information and before one can conclude that he is with the right information, there must be a clear proof”, one of the elders said as he looked at the Alpha king who let out a small smile and kept quiet. Silence lingered in the atmosphere for a couple of minutes after which Jason decided to speak up. For all he knew, the Alpha king might just be playing some sort of mind test on
Third person. A month after the death of the Alpha King and the rift between Kayla and the quad, she decided that it was time to let them in on everything that happened when she was at the forest. She wanted them to know that she had to choose just one of the quad as her mate for life and that was the instruction from the moon goddess. She broke the news to them one morning and the shock on their faces showed that they weren’t expecting to hear something like that. “But she chose you as our mates!” Ethan cried out. He was quite pained to hear such, even if he hadn’t really said so much words to Kayla. “You will find another mate once I make my choice”, Kayla explained as they both exchanged glances with each other. They gulped down hard and nodded, gesturing for her to go ahead with making her choice. “And so, who are you picking?” Jake said as he stared at her, as though he wished that she would choose him. Kayla stared at each of the quad, with tears dripping out of her eyes.
KaylaIsn’t it funny, the way live goes? How things start up on a bad note, only to transit to being good and then, return back to being bad. The quad had been a thorn in my flesh right from the very beginning but when they turned out to be good, I had a change of thought about them.It was crazy to witness a time when they returned back to being mean and nonchalant about things that concerned me, their mate. This was exclusive of Jason, who despite all, took me in and told me that he still needed me around. That gave me a sort of hope…if Jason wanted me, then I’m just fine. The strange woman whom I had met during my journey in the forest had told me that I could only choose one of the quad and I just knew that Jason was going to be that one. None of them knew about that, at least not yet. I had no idea of what such information would bring but I was getting ready to bring them in on it the moment I felt was right. “What are you thinking of?” Jason asked as he walked over to me,
Third person. Kayla swirled around to meet Jason, who had his hands inside his pocket and his gaze lowered to the ground. He had a small smirk on his face, and a questioning look that sort of asked the question of why Kayla would ever think of leaving the pack. “Jason?” Kayla called out, quite surprised to see him there even though she wasn’t so convinced that he would want her to stay back. As long as she was concerned, she was unwanted at the pack and has always been unwanted at the pack. “Where are you going to?” Jason asked again as he took another step closer. He has this fierce look on his face that suggested how he was both pained and confused by her decision. “I’m leaving”, she replied with a voice that sounded like a whisper, trying so hard to avoid gazing into his eyes. Jason gulped down hard and darted his eyes away again. “And why are you leaving?” He asked as he rolled his eyes at her. “No one wants me around. You all think that I’m a danger to your pack b
KaylaI sat on my bed as every memory I ever had at the pack started pouring back into my brain. I blinked off the tears that welled up in my eyes as I stood up and strolled over to the window. A huge part of my life was in this pack, and although most of it turned out to be terrific, I still didn’t want to leave. However, I needed to because despite how hard I wanted to make amends with the quad, they weren’t willing to do so. I finally packed up my bad and started making my way out of the pack. I could have easily made use of my powers to vanish and never be seen, but for some reasons, I wanted every single person at the pack to see that I was leaving indeed. Just as I approached the gate, I felt someone watching me. I swirled around and tried to place my hands on who it might be but I couldn’t. At this, I ignored the weird feeling and trudged further away. And then, I heard what sounded like footsteps. It was clear that someone was following me but whosoever it was didn’t want
Kayla It was high time the entire fight came to an end. I was exhausted and needed someone to cling on but that seemed to be impossible because every single person deserted me. “Please, let’s make peace”, I said to Jason who was looking at me as though he had just seen a ghost. Despite how hard he tried to avoid having an eye contact with me, I could tell that he missed me as much as I did.“Kayla, everyone needs space at this point and it’s only cool that we leave things the way they are”, he explained just as I searched through his eyes as though I could really tell what he felt. “That’s not true. Deep down your heart, I know that you want all of these to end. I know that you desire me. I know that you want me. I can feel it in my bones”, I said in a whisper as I used my hand to caress his cheeks softly. He froze the minute my hands touched his skin and that was yet another confirmation of what I had just said. There was no need extending the situation when we could have peace a
Third person. Everything remained silent for a couple of days. However, the silence that reigned over the entire pack was one filled with so much tension. The quad were lost and unable to think of how to proceed with carrying their responsibilities as alphas. Kayla on the other end couldn’t tell if she wanted to leave the pack or remain there, especially because the entire quad was mad at her. Jason was not left out too. He was usually the one standing so firm behind her. It was quite heartbreaking to see him look away from her. She took slow steps out of her room, not failing to observe how the members of the pack shivered immediately they set their eyes on her. She was truly exhausted and all she wanted at the moment was peace. She hated being a reason to be talked about by the entire pack. Just as she walked, she bumped into someone and that prompted her to travel all the way to the ground. She let out a deep sigh after which she rubbed her hands that was terrible hurtin
Third person. Kayla ran out of the scene as fast as her legs could carry her, not sparing anyone of them a glance. She never intended to make use of her powers but it seemed as though her powers reacted in time it sensed danger “I don’t like this! This is becoming one crazy rollercoaster and I’m certainly not ready for this”, she cried out the minute she got into her room. “But you miss them…”, her wolf whispered and for some seconds, her cries turned to silent tears. “I do…but I doubt that things would go back to how it’s been”, she said, her heart broken to a thousand pieces. The quad were still hiding inside their various rooms, in their mourning state. On my part, I was cold and numb as I sat in the garden. I had a lot of thoughts in my head and even if I direly wanted him to apologize to me, I didn’t wish his death. Third person. Kayla and Jason were just in the middle of sharing a warm hug when a voice interrupted from behind, causing them to swirl abruptly. “Yes! She is a threat to this pack and if anything, she should be eliminated”, the voice added and slowly, Kayla lifted her head to meet that of the owner. It was Mason. Her heart dropped as she took down a very big gulp of her own saliva. She jerked up to her feet, lowered her eyes to the ground and drew in a very deep breath. “Mason, I understand how you feel. I felt that same way when I learnt of my mother’s death. Trust me, I was hurt to the core”, Kayla tried to explain but that seemed to further infuriate Mason. Mason eyes were on fire as he glared at her in rage. It felt as though she was responsible for their entire predicament. “Your mother’s death? Was that why you did this?” He asked with a broken voice and again, Kayla’s heart missed a beat. She couldn’t tell if she was sharing their pain because she was also their mate,

I had a lot of thoughts in my head and even if I direly wanted him to apologize to me, I didn’t wish his death. He brought his death upon himself though because he had thought that Denver’s pack was at peace with him. That was the major mistake that allowed his death. Just then, a loud wail came booming directly into my ears and abruptly, I felt a cold shiver running down my spine. It was Jason. My heart broke into a thousand pieces as I held myself from jerking up and running towards his room. They hated me and I knew it. I had refused to help them with my powers even though they screamed and asked me for help. What was I meant to do? Save the man responsible for my mother’s death? That was something I would never do. A tear dropped out of my eyes as I clutched on to my chest and broke into a very silent sob. This might just be the re
