EthanMy head swirled as I tried to replay what our father just said for another time. For minutes, we remained still and quiet, not uttering a single word to any one.“I’m so sorry”, Claire apologized as though she was the one responsible for what had just happened. The fault didn’t come from her. It came from whosoever it was that told the Alpha King of our disappearance. “Who do you think told him?” I asked Claire who took a pause and thought about it for a while. She shrugged slightly after which she shook her head negatively. “I honestly have no idea about that. I mean, the news could have gotten to them through any means, right?” She asked, staring at me and my brothers. I gulped down hard as fresh set of sweats formed on my forehead. Leaving the academy at a point like this wasn’t anything close to my plans because we were going to be leaving Kayla who was lost in the forest. “I have no idea of who might have done that”, Claire said in finality and just then, something clic
Third person. “Tell me, have you heard of such thing?” Ashley went on, not sparing Jason a single glance. It was at this point it dawned on Jason that he actually took the wrong choice of talking and yelling at her right in front of everyone. “Have you ever seen someone who loves his sister so much that he is willing to kill himself for it? His step sister! I mean, he hated her at first when she came into the pack but now, she becomes someone who he can’t spend a day without having thoughts about. I ask again, is that normal?” Ashley asked everyone and they fell into an uproar of murmurs. Jason’s heart was beating out of his chest as he took note of the students eyes and the type of look they had on their face. Each of them stared at him with a dead glare, as though he just committed a form of abomination that wasn’t accepted anywhere in the world. “Listen to me guys! She is lying!” Jason yelled out of his lungs as he grabbed Ashley and started pulling her out of the classroom.
Kayla. My eyes blinked severally but didn’t remain stable until i jerked up and let out a loud scream. I had no idea of what was currently wrong with me because I felt so sick and exhausted. Just then, I recalled the apple I had eaten earlier and how it must have been responsible for what was currently wrong with me.“What the hell!” I muttered under my breath as I looked around, hoping that I would be able to recall where I was at the moment. There was nothing coming to my head because I was blank and unable to decipher what was current going on. “Where am I?” I asked again and just then, I felt a cold feeling on my neck. It seemed as though someone placed his cold hands on my bare skin. A loud scream flew out of my lips as I looked around, getting more frightened when I didn’t see anyone around. “Dear, are you scared?” I heard that one familiar voice that was able to send cold shivers running down my spine. I swallowed hard and wiped sweats off my forehead, trying so hard to r
Ethan. We got back to the pack house later that evening. Just as our father had said, we were done with the academy and there wasn’t anything to do about it. Inasmuch as we considered ourselves to be grownups and people who could make their own decisions by themselves, there were times when whatever our father said was what we had to do. Now, we were back to the house like before, but the only difference was Kayla who was not in the picture. “Your father has accepted the request for everyone to have dinner together later tonight”, a servant said as he walked over to me. I had sent the servant to pass a message to my father. Our father wasn’t making attempt to meet with us and so, I had to be the one who pushed for it. We really needed to talk to him because there was a lot to talk about. “Do you think he would agree to your plans?” Jason said, minutes after the servant left. Jason was a shadow of himself. Ever since we returned to the pack house, I didn’t fail to realize that th
KaylaI winced in pain the minute I tried to lift my legs up. The pain was excruciating that I gave up almost immediately. I had beads of sweats scattered across my face and my heart beat was on the rise. My heart was filled with various questions that scared me and one of them was if I was going to walk again. “Relax, Kayla. I can hear through your thoughts”, I heard a soft feminine voice and for a moment, I thought that I had just heard wrongly. I knew that someone picked me up from the ground after the beast tried to kill me. However, I had no idea that it was a woman. What was a woman doing here in the forest?“Relax Kayla, I hear through your thoughts”, her voice said again, causing me to jerk up in fear.I looked at her intently, with my heart beating out of my chest. At first, I had thought that I would be dealing with another invincible being. However, I was lucky to see that it was a woman in a human form. “Thank goddess”, I mumbled under my breath since that went a long
Third person. It was already some days after the return of the quad and there wasn’t any plans to go help Kayla. The boys were so angry at their father but he seemed to have made up his mind in that regard. He wasn’t going to help save Kayla and if she died in the forest, it wasn’t going to be of any concern to him. Now, he went ahead to organize a party to celebrate their return from the academy when his step daughter was out there in the forest. “What are we going to do?” Mason asked Ethan who was standing before them and wearing a massive scowl on his face. They were dressed in a tuxedo, but the looks on their faces was enough to tell the entire guests that things weren’t great. Their father walked over to them, with a stern look on his face. “Follow me, all of you!” He declared, causing the quad to stare at each other in surprise. The look on their fathers face was enough to tell them that something was wrong. They took in a deep breath and nodded their head in affirmation.
Third person. Kayla was staring at the seer, waiting for her to tell her the exact person who might be responsible for her mother’s death. A part of her heart pointed at her step father because she couldn’t place her hands on why he suddenly turned strict and wicked out of the blues. That was something that wasn’t even closely related to his traits at all.“Tell me. You are a seer! Who killed my mother?” Kayla yelled out of her lungs, breathing heavily. Her eyes suddenly started changing between blue and red. “That’s it…rage. Keep going”, the seer said, staring at her with an interesting look on her face. Kayla was taken aback by this. She had thought that the seer would swiftly tell her who it was that killer her father. However, the seer seemed to be just interested in seeing her get angry. The ground started rumbling at that point, as though an earthquake was at the verge of taking place. “Who killed my mother?” Kayla screamed out of her lungs and a part of the ground opened up
Third person. The boys walked back into the party arena, with a big scowl on their faces. They looked at their father who was currently talking to a group of guests that were invited to the party.Deep down, they didn’t actually see a need for the party because they barely spent up to the complete three months they were supposed to spend at the academy. Usually, the parents sent their children to the academy because they believe that it was a great place to get mind blowing knowledge that makes them different from others. At this, each time a werewolf returned back from the academy, they threw a party to celebrate them. “What’s the use of this party? Kayla is not anywhere in sight and we didn’t even get to spend three months over there”, Ethan said as he let out a loud hiss and returned his gaze to their father who was stealing glances at them. After what seemed like ages, their father cleared his throat and hit a fork on the glass cup he held, causing everyone to turn to him in
Third person. A month after the death of the Alpha King and the rift between Kayla and the quad, she decided that it was time to let them in on everything that happened when she was at the forest. She wanted them to know that she had to choose just one of the quad as her mate for life and that was the instruction from the moon goddess. She broke the news to them one morning and the shock on their faces showed that they weren’t expecting to hear something like that. “But she chose you as our mates!” Ethan cried out. He was quite pained to hear such, even if he hadn’t really said so much words to Kayla. “You will find another mate once I make my choice”, Kayla explained as they both exchanged glances with each other. They gulped down hard and nodded, gesturing for her to go ahead with making her choice. “And so, who are you picking?” Jake said as he stared at her, as though he wished that she would choose him. Kayla stared at each of the quad, with tears dripping out of her eyes.
KaylaIsn’t it funny, the way live goes? How things start up on a bad note, only to transit to being good and then, return back to being bad. The quad had been a thorn in my flesh right from the very beginning but when they turned out to be good, I had a change of thought about them.It was crazy to witness a time when they returned back to being mean and nonchalant about things that concerned me, their mate. This was exclusive of Jason, who despite all, took me in and told me that he still needed me around. That gave me a sort of hope…if Jason wanted me, then I’m just fine. The strange woman whom I had met during my journey in the forest had told me that I could only choose one of the quad and I just knew that Jason was going to be that one. None of them knew about that, at least not yet. I had no idea of what such information would bring but I was getting ready to bring them in on it the moment I felt was right. “What are you thinking of?” Jason asked as he walked over to me,
Third person. Kayla swirled around to meet Jason, who had his hands inside his pocket and his gaze lowered to the ground. He had a small smirk on his face, and a questioning look that sort of asked the question of why Kayla would ever think of leaving the pack. “Jason?” Kayla called out, quite surprised to see him there even though she wasn’t so convinced that he would want her to stay back. As long as she was concerned, she was unwanted at the pack and has always been unwanted at the pack. “Where are you going to?” Jason asked again as he took another step closer. He has this fierce look on his face that suggested how he was both pained and confused by her decision. “I’m leaving”, she replied with a voice that sounded like a whisper, trying so hard to avoid gazing into his eyes. Jason gulped down hard and darted his eyes away again. “And why are you leaving?” He asked as he rolled his eyes at her. “No one wants me around. You all think that I’m a danger to your pack b
KaylaI sat on my bed as every memory I ever had at the pack started pouring back into my brain. I blinked off the tears that welled up in my eyes as I stood up and strolled over to the window. A huge part of my life was in this pack, and although most of it turned out to be terrific, I still didn’t want to leave. However, I needed to because despite how hard I wanted to make amends with the quad, they weren’t willing to do so. I finally packed up my bad and started making my way out of the pack. I could have easily made use of my powers to vanish and never be seen, but for some reasons, I wanted every single person at the pack to see that I was leaving indeed. Just as I approached the gate, I felt someone watching me. I swirled around and tried to place my hands on who it might be but I couldn’t. At this, I ignored the weird feeling and trudged further away. And then, I heard what sounded like footsteps. It was clear that someone was following me but whosoever it was didn’t want
Kayla It was high time the entire fight came to an end. I was exhausted and needed someone to cling on but that seemed to be impossible because every single person deserted me. “Please, let’s make peace”, I said to Jason who was looking at me as though he had just seen a ghost. Despite how hard he tried to avoid having an eye contact with me, I could tell that he missed me as much as I did.“Kayla, everyone needs space at this point and it’s only cool that we leave things the way they are”, he explained just as I searched through his eyes as though I could really tell what he felt. “That’s not true. Deep down your heart, I know that you want all of these to end. I know that you desire me. I know that you want me. I can feel it in my bones”, I said in a whisper as I used my hand to caress his cheeks softly. He froze the minute my hands touched his skin and that was yet another confirmation of what I had just said. There was no need extending the situation when we could have peace a
Third person. Everything remained silent for a couple of days. However, the silence that reigned over the entire pack was one filled with so much tension. The quad were lost and unable to think of how to proceed with carrying their responsibilities as alphas. Kayla on the other end couldn’t tell if she wanted to leave the pack or remain there, especially because the entire quad was mad at her. Jason was not left out too. He was usually the one standing so firm behind her. It was quite heartbreaking to see him look away from her. She took slow steps out of her room, not failing to observe how the members of the pack shivered immediately they set their eyes on her. She was truly exhausted and all she wanted at the moment was peace. She hated being a reason to be talked about by the entire pack. Just as she walked, she bumped into someone and that prompted her to travel all the way to the ground. She let out a deep sigh after which she rubbed her hands that was terrible hurtin
Third person. Kayla ran out of the scene as fast as her legs could carry her, not sparing anyone of them a glance. She never intended to make use of her powers but it seemed as though her powers reacted in time it sensed danger “I don’t like this! This is becoming one crazy rollercoaster and I’m certainly not ready for this”, she cried out the minute she got into her room. “But you miss them…”, her wolf whispered and for some seconds, her cries turned to silent tears. “I do…but I doubt that things would go back to how it’s been”, she said, her heart broken to a thousand pieces. The quad were still hiding inside their various rooms, in their mourning state. On my part, I was cold and numb as I sat in the garden. I had a lot of thoughts in my head and even if I direly wanted him to apologize to me, I didn’t wish his death. He brought his death upon himself though because he had thought that Denver’s pack was at peace with him. That was the major mistake that allowed his de
Third person. Kayla and Jason were just in the middle of sharing a warm hug when a voice interrupted from behind, causing them to swirl abruptly. “Yes! She is a threat to this pack and if anything, she should be eliminated”, the voice added and slowly, Kayla lifted her head to meet that of the owner. It was Mason. Her heart dropped as she took down a very big gulp of her own saliva. She jerked up to her feet, lowered her eyes to the ground and drew in a very deep breath. “Mason, I understand how you feel. I felt that same way when I learnt of my mother’s death. Trust me, I was hurt to the core”, Kayla tried to explain but that seemed to further infuriate Mason. Mason eyes were on fire as he glared at her in rage. It felt as though she was responsible for their entire predicament. “Your mother’s death? Was that why you did this?” He asked with a broken voice and again, Kayla’s heart missed a beat. She couldn’t tell if she was sharing their pain because she was also their mate,

I had a lot of thoughts in my head and even if I direly wanted him to apologize to me, I didn’t wish his death. He brought his death upon himself though because he had thought that Denver’s pack was at peace with him. That was the major mistake that allowed his death. Just then, a loud wail came booming directly into my ears and abruptly, I felt a cold shiver running down my spine. It was Jason. My heart broke into a thousand pieces as I held myself from jerking up and running towards his room. They hated me and I knew it. I had refused to help them with my powers even though they screamed and asked me for help. What was I meant to do? Save the man responsible for my mother’s death? That was something I would never do. A tear dropped out of my eyes as I clutched on to my chest and broke into a very silent sob. This might just be the re
