Kayla looked at the seer intently. It’s been over a day since she met the seer and she was yet to give her the entire information she wanted.

“A step a time, Kayla”, she would say to Kayla each time she tried to ask her another question about her.

Kayla was still laying on the bed and unable to move her body. She couldn’t help but think of the type of knife the forest beast had used to strike her legs because they hurt badly.

“Would I still work?” Kayla asked with a cracked voice as tears welled up in her eyes.

She didn’t tell anyone this but the truth was that her greatest fear in life was waking one day to see that she couldn’t make use of her legs anymore.

“What would be the use of my powers if I can’t walk?” Kayla asked as she sniffed hard and looked at the seer who was just wearing a smile.
