Chapter 9

Myra's P.O.V

I arranged my belongings because I would be gone for a long time.

"Mom, just text me if you need me here, then always be careful. Lock the door immediately after all you are here alone" I said while folding my clothes.

I will first move to Sir John’s house and find a job online. So even if I am at home I will earn income.

"Daughter, don't worry about me, you will have to be careful after all you said that you’re going in a far place. I have many friends here, I’ll be fine" said Mama.

"I will leave you with them" I said and smiled at Mom.

Mom handed me a money but I did not accept it.

"Mom, it's okay" I said and just smiled.

"It's only a small amount child" Mom persist me.

"Tsk, No Mom" I said.

I have arranged my belongings and I have changed my clothes. When I’m already finished, I said goodbye to Mom as I was leaving.

I called our neighbors that I was leaving so I hope they looked at Mom.

It's hard for me to leave Mom here alone, But I was not ready to hear hurtful words from her. I still don't want her to be disappointment. Not now.

I only have a low budget, that’s why I only take a jeepney, even if the trip is a hassle, I have to get at sir John’s place. Afterwards, I just walked a little bit more to Sir's house.

When I arrived at Sir John’s house I was exhausted. I slammed his gate to get his attention.

"Sir!" I shouted.

When he walked out of his door. He stared at me first and the luggage I was carrying.

"Did you run away from home?" Sir asked before opening the gate.

"Is it obvious?" I asked sarcastically.

"Damn! Myra, you are pregnant and you carry so much weight" said Sir as he took the two bags I was carrying.

I was hold my chest as I entered his house, my heart keeps beating hard because I got out of breath because of walking.

"Sir, can I ask for water?" I asked and sat on his sofa.

"What happened? Why did you run away? Did your Mama find out?" Sir asked.

I stared at him.

"So? I'm going to die first?" I asked and rolled my eyes.

"No—sorry wait!" said Sir and went to the kitchen to get me some water.

Sir returned with a glass and a pitcher.

"Why is there a pitcher?" I asked.

"Maybe a glass of water isn’t enough for you" Sir John said.

I just stared at it and drank some water. I was very tired from walking because it was a bit far too. I have no choice because I don’t have too much money to ride a trycicle.

"Sir? Can I stay here at your house for a while?" I asked.

"Do you think you still have space here?" Sir asked calmly.

"Damn! All right, then don't! If you weren't my child’s father, I wouldn't be here asking for your help!" I shouted angrily.

I was about to leave but Sir John stopped me.

"Don't be angry, I’m just joking. I’ll let you stay here as long as you want but tell me what happened first" Sir John said.

"My Mom doesn't know yet" I said.

"Oh? Why are you here?" Sir asked.

"I don't even know how to tell Mom that I'm pregnant. Then my boyfriend didn't get me pregnant! Which parent won't be angry, right?" I said.

"And then?" Sir asked.

“Hmm-- actually-- I told Mom that I have a job in a far away place so I have to leave. I'm not ready for her to know" I said and looked at the floor.

I just want to be feed on the ground rather than facing the truth.

"So? How is that? Are you sleeping in the living room?" Sir asked and took my bags to his room.

Damn! That's the room, I remember what happened to us before! My baby, I never thought you would be formed with that night.

"Yes" I said.

"All right, there you go, I just need something to buy in the market" Sir John said and walked away.

Today is also our Anniversary. We will meet this afternoon at the Mall and because I will go to bed early, I feel sick again because I am tired.

I set the alarm and lay down on Sir John’s sofa and slept soundly.

I woke up when I heard the alarm of my cellphone.

When I opened my eyes I saw Sir John holding my phone.

"Hey!" I shouted and snatched the phone from him.

"Why is there an alarm? It's been a while? How many times have I turned off that" said Sir.

"Huh? What! Why are you turning it off?!" I asked annoyed and looked at the time.

It's 4:30 pm.

Supposed to be we will meet at 4:45 pm. At the mall.

“NO! NO! SHIT! I set an alarm on 3:30 pm but--!" I’m very annoyed, I shouted at Sir John and ran to Sir's room to get some clothes.

"Myra! Be careful! You're running fast, you're pregnant!" Sir shouted angrily at me.

I ignored him and went to the bathroom to get dressed.

Nhel is important now.

I did not say goodbye to Sir, I took my gift to Nhel and left immediately.

I checked the time on my phone and it was 5 pm.

When I saw Nhel standing, my world seemed to stop.

I am so happy now that the man I love the most is in front of me, the man I have been waiting for.

Nhel saw me and a smile suddenly draw at his face. He run towards me.

"Love! I missed you so much" Nhel said and hugged me.

"Love! I’m very happy seeing you again" I said and did not let go of his hug.

"Obviously Love, because I can no longer breathe in your embrace" Nhel said laughing so I let go.

"Let's go to the Food Court" I said and we walked away.

"You are beautiful, Love" said Nhel, this is the one I missed so much after him that we did not meet, He tells me every day that I am beautiful.

"Love, I love you" I said and we sat down.

"Love, my baby is so tender, I love you too" Nhel said and handed me a paper bag. "Happy Anniversary" he added.

"Love, Happy Anniversary too" I said and also handed him my gift.

He was very happy and immediately opened my offer.

I can't help but feel sad because he can leave me at any time because I will say that my condition is with him.

"Love, I have something to say" I said.

"All right, say it, thank you for this. The dress is just right for me" said Nhel.

I took a deep breath and smiled bitterly, as if I could not, I just wanted to cry in front of him.

"Nhel, I'm sorry" I said and my tears flowed because I could not stop it.

"Huh? Love why?" Nhel asked.

I saw the concern in his eyes, here is what I will miss so much.

"I'm pregnant" I said and covered my face and wiped away my tears.

"Huh? Is this Love prank? Are you a vlogger now? Where is your camera?" Nhel asked and he laughed.

How I wish that this is only a prank.

"Nhel" I said and continued to cry.

"Myra, are you serious?"

"Nhel, I'm sorry. I didn't want you to believe me because you really are the one I love" I said.

"How could you say that Myra! If you love me, you won’t do such things like that!" Nhel said and I saw tears dripping down his eyes.

"I love you so much" was all I could say.

"Who is the father?" He asked without looking at me.

"Sir John" I said and wiped away the tears.

“F-fuck… I won’t tell anyone because I respect you—“

“Nhel—“

"I hope you are happy" Nhel said and stood up.

"You're going to have a family, Take care always Myra. I just want to tell you, I still love you even things become shits like this, but sorry because I can't handle it anymore" Nhel said and walked away.

I was left sitting and crying. I just put my head down because there were people looking at us.

"I'm sorry Love" I whispered to myself.
