I'm about to shift back and confront the rogue when a huge blur cuts me off. Like a flash, twigs and branches snap, loud whimpers and sounds of struggle ring in the air and I'm shaken back into the scene playing a few feet away from me.
Twice my size, deep coffee-brown and spilling with a menacing stench of hostility. An aggravated aggressive male rogue tackles the female rogue to the ground, snapping its dentition in her face and digging it's claws ferociously into her flesh.
My wolf tenses with anger and charges at them. Channeling my energy into a single move, I knock the bulky bully off the female rogue and he's sent on a rolling spree.
The wolf on the ground looks in a very bad shape that fuels my rage and I try to get it to follow me before the wolf returns by nuzzling its face.
The wolf stands and I lead the way, heading anywhere but away from that rabid beast.
Silver's POV."...oops! I better go check on them now. You can enjoy your sweet nap, I'll be busy at the backyard!"And hurrying feet lets me know she's dashed off, making me roll on my side with eyes shut and a faint smile lifting my face.Heather...what a weird and funny girl. She could go on and on about everyone in her family, the joy and pride beaming through the vigor of her voice and her contagious laughter....Bringing about a swelling ball of warmth I'm so reluctant to accept, despite how nutso it drives my being. To just be around her...always, and at all times.Bleeding comfort...a dreadful chill that slides down my spine, pressing a frown onto my face as my mind drifts off into random desolate spaces in my tranquil mind.Along the scattered pieces of memories I've tried to bury underneath my mind...I begin to see familiar plains, valleys and sketches of settlements that has me reliving the cold, old times.Af
I bump into something and come out of my daze. Furrowing my brows, "Heather...why did you stop walking all of a sudden?""Uh...well, there's a scene with Ignacio and Asher...at the field and...are they about to fight?" Starting of in a contemplative voice which grows higher and surer towards the end.I scoff inwards, "I bet that Ignacio must've challenged him"."Come" She grabs me by the arm gently, trying not to rush over to where they must be while I sigh, unable to understand her excitement.I listen to her quick but gradual steps and obey her every "There's a descension here" and "Hold on, someone's passing by". And I'm seated next to her.Ria's voice soon filters in and both girls go squealing. "Ignacio will finally be put where he belongs" Ria says confidently and I feel Heather bubbling in support."They're not shifting? Ignacio might have the upper hand" Its not a surprise if things turn out that way. After all, he's the beta's sibli
“Woah…the rumors were true huh, they really are a thing now”.My ears perk up with incessant itches as my face goes frigid instantly. More comments fly about and it only peaks the disdain brewing within me. Asher…that bastard.Going around and flaunting Heather as his girlfriend and stirring unending ruckus. I grind my teeth, feeling the bristles of my primal jealousy prickling all over my being.“Silver! Hey- wait up!”And yet, my body betrays my will to run away at the sound of her sunny voice. Hissing at my wolf for defying me and stopping my pace in wait for her to get close. I listen to the closing steps until her running feet comes to halt right before me.“Silver…damn, I almost missed you. Let’s eat lunch together…though I don’t know where Ria is. I think she’s avoiding me…”Getting to the part with Ria, her voice drops with worry and I have to pr
Clawing at my chest, excruciating pain I lured into my being. Itching madly…unable to control the spasms of pain that slices repeatedly against my body, stinging like iron whips lashing over my flesh. ‘Let me out….’ That deep growl resonates in the back of my head, dominating the chaotic mess my mind is degenerating to as I clutch my chest, sliding against the wall to a sitting posture on the cold floor. ‘Let me out…and let me go after her….’ I shake my head in the negative, beginning to view little colors through my eyes and I begin to panic, my wolf is gaining control. The colors fade into darkness, signaling my control and I hear his malicious growl from the depths of my mind and I bite on my lower lip to keep from screaming in pains. ‘This is how you want to play huh…Silver. Will you sit here wallowing in regrets or join me to rip that fool to bits and pieces and claim what belongs to us?’ His voice booms in my mind as I shut my eyes tight
“Hey, you’re leaving? But she’s in there. Playing games with Asher and a group of his friends…speaking of which…Ria’s also been avoiding her too. Know what’s up?” Not sure if it’s alright to tell him but I do anyway. “Ria likes Asher so she’s still mad at Heather. I’ll just quietly leave and try again some other time”. And before he can rain down his barrage of questions on me, I sprint off. What the heck am I doing?! I’m so close to her and yet I…can’t believe I’ve depleted into such a coward. I take shelter between the trees, resting my back against a tree as I scold myself. That’s when I pick up voices and her scent hits my nose hard, forcing a sneeze out of me. “So…” His voice drags, “…what is it you wanna give me?” I push off the tree and trace the voices and hide when i see his back. Trying to adjust my vision so i can see her clearer which is at the risk of my wolf jumping out. “Um…it’s nothing so special but- I’d like you to ha
“What are you doing here? Why did you come despite knowing what you put her through?” I almost forgot about this punk. Why do I have to deal with him now? Rubbing my fur-coated neck and letting out a yawn, “What do you want?” I ask in a bored tone. Just look at him, putting up those hard eyes and angry face. What a pup. “I don’t know what game you’re playing but you need to stop what you’re doing to Heather. Stop confusing her, Silver. Stay away from her, you’ve hurt her enough”. “What are you now? Speaking for her? Is what you think you share with her so weak? Why are you so insecure and looking for who to blame for it?” Dang it! My wolf is making this all come out wrong. These aren’t my words. ‘If you don’t want me violating our deal and taking charge, sit back and let me handle this lowlife punk’. So I step back and take a sit, hoping against the odds that he doesn’t get provoked into shifting. Cutting a glance at my mate begin take
Another failed attempt to see my mate has me tracing my way back to the cottage I live in, a shadow of myself as I use my heightened senses to guide me back. That’s when a mix of two foreign scents assail my nostrils. One of it seems faintly familiar and the other, completely…unknown to me. So I speed my pace and arrive before them. With my voice hard, I ask, “Who are you and what do you want?” “You must be Silver right?” What is with that serene voice that calms me down instantly? A warmth I’ve never felt before, searing through my being, arresting me from all angles and melting my despair away. Provoked at the sudden infiltration, I try to speak back but…it all just simmers away, making my wolf stir peacefully and rendering me away from all fight. She speaks again. “I’m sorry we came uninvited, but there are pressing matters to discuss with you” She tells me, haste in her voice and I nod lazily, still recovering from that beautiful attack. W
“It’s…fine” Finding my breathing hindered as well as I frown at us. “You…can get down now” I chide but she holds on tighter. “I don’t wanna” She shakes her head obstinately and I think I’m losing it faster than I thought I can manage. Patience is something I don’t lack but…but…but this girl! She accelerates the unrelenting pounding in my chest and my idiotic honed senses just have to pay attention to her racing heartbeat that drives me silly. I recover my wits and form a smile, bringing my lips to where I perceive her ear to be and whisper in a very sultry voice. “Does Asher enjoy hugs like this from you?” And she goes frigid, cracking me up as she jumps off me at once. Missing her feel against my body but I gotta let it go for the red look on her face I see from my right eye. She fumbles with her fingers, presenting her very shy and meek side to me. Slowly, my laughter begins to die as I really begin to take a look at her.
