Another failed attempt to see my mate has me tracing my way back to the cottage I live in, a shadow of myself as I use my heightened senses to guide me back. That’s when a mix of two foreign scents assail my nostrils. One of it seems faintly familiar and the other, completely…unknown to me.
So I speed my pace and arrive before them. With my voice hard, I ask, “Who are you and what do you want?”
“You must be Silver right?” What is with that serene voice that calms me down instantly? A warmth I’ve never felt before, searing through my being, arresting me from all angles and melting my despair away.
Provoked at the sudden infiltration, I try to speak back but…it all just simmers away, making my wolf stir peacefully and rendering me away from all fight. She speaks again.
“I’m sorry we came uninvited, but there are pressing matters to discuss with you” She tells me, haste in her voice and I nod lazily, still recovering from that beautiful attack.

“It’s…fine” Finding my breathing hindered as well as I frown at us. “You…can get down now” I chide but she holds on tighter. “I don’t wanna” She shakes her head obstinately and I think I’m losing it faster than I thought I can manage. Patience is something I don’t lack but…but…but this girl! She accelerates the unrelenting pounding in my chest and my idiotic honed senses just have to pay attention to her racing heartbeat that drives me silly. I recover my wits and form a smile, bringing my lips to where I perceive her ear to be and whisper in a very sultry voice. “Does Asher enjoy hugs like this from you?” And she goes frigid, cracking me up as she jumps off me at once. Missing her feel against my body but I gotta let it go for the red look on her face I see from my right eye. She fumbles with her fingers, presenting her very shy and meek side to me. Slowly, my laughter begins to die as I really begin to take a look at her.
Heather’s POV.“Heather sweetie, the boys are here!” Aunt calls from downstairs and I hasten up, swiping my phone and headphone off the bedside table and throwing them into my travel bag. “I’ll be there shortly!”Hollering back, I dash out of the room and slam into someone as we both groan. Kamila giggles at me, rubbing her arm, “You should slow down or you might just fall down the stairs”.And I pout, “You don’t have to put it that way. I’ll be careful!”And off I go with my explosive drive down the stairs and rolling into the sitting room where I instantly compose myself before the watching eyes.“Oh…hey Asher” I wave my hand softly and he smiles. But I’m searching for someone, craning my neck around until something hits me directly at the nape of my neck and I let out a yelp.Turning around with an evil glare that melts away to a
“Are you sure you’re alright? Do you need me to stay?” I turn around at the voices and see mom and dad by the main door. She pats his arm, letting out a nervous laugh as she shakes her head against the offer. “You don’t have to, it’s only a mild headache. Now buttercup, you have to get going before Weslee sees you” And she starts to push him out the door against his protest as I giggle at them.Skipping over, “Did you really have to chase him out that way- mom?” Surprised to see her leaning her back tiredly against the door with a palm against her temple and eyes shutting momentarily. Studiously, I draw closer just in time with her eyes coming back open.“Oh hey sweetie, you’re up huh? Hungry?” Even her voice is strained and her smile is sloppy. She looks…extremely exhausted.Ignoring her questions to stretch my hand up, flattening my palm against her forehead and my other palm
I watch the Gamma’s younger sister, Lana and my older brother Yohan from the porch I’m standing on. These two have grown so attached and inseparable in just seven hours. Yohan never wants to let her go and neither does she as she behaves all coy and shy, often bringing something to talk about. But she knows she has to return to the pack house as her help has been requested. When I told mom about it earlier, she was so happy to have her family and aunt Lisanna’s joined together and has been in a good mood all day. Despite Lana being four years older than Yohan, you’d think the otherwise when you witness how dominate he is over her. I guess that’s just a trait for the alpha blood.About to turn away from watching the couple when I see the boys returning from their ‘stroll’.Asher looks exhausted…actually, he’s the only exhausted one as he’s covered in dirt and leaves sticking out in his hair. I giggle at
Why did we all have to come here together again? I sigh for the umpteenth time, finally he’s shown. “Hey Zach, get up Shane is here” I tap him on the shoulder and he stands up from the floor as I frown at him.“You didn’t have to sit there, Zach for God sake…there’re seats around” Gosh this kid! He’s even laughing. Brat, I know you intentionally wanna get on my nerves.“The others will be here in a while, we can go on ahead and get the popcorn and drinks” Shane arrives and I grin widely, “Good news for me. I can secure me a nice paper bucket of popcorn without Harry and Harlow being here”.“I guess so, just that I quickly have to secure some more tickets. Emily, Fenrir, Scott, Zara and Jenna are coming” He tells us and I go, “Oh”.They’re gonna have mom and my aunts babysit again. Seems everyone’s using this as an opportunity to let out some
Don’t know if I’m allowed to feel this way…watching them fuss about him like that. Throwing in those glossy smiles and exaggerating comments. He’s not even paying attention- why do they even try? What? Is he really flashing a smile right now?I stand up to my feet with a start as I glare at everyone in that hurdle that’s been obsessing over Silver all morning. The annoying girls just won’t let him be.“Why do you look ready for an attack? Are we safe?” A voice teases behind me and upon turning, I meet with Yohan and Shane.“Ugh just go away and leave me alone!” I flail my arms at them in an attempt to shoo them away.“Oh…I see what’s going on here. It’s because Asher isn’t here right? Should I go get you your boyfriend?” Shane’s tease has me burning up and I snap at him, “Right back at you! Don’t you have to go see Brenda? I thought you both
Boiling above a hundred degrees, I fold my legs, grinding my teeth impatiently as they both shift…exactly the same sizes. Impressive. No, this is wrong, this whole fight is wrong! Can’t anyone else see this? The delirious excitement wafting off both wolves has me stubbornly rolling my eyes and Silver strolls forward tenaciously. On a second thought…I could just enjoy this like the cheering crowd, rooting for both of them.Relaxing with my palms spread out behind me so I can sit on the ground properly, I pay rapt attention to the fight that’s about to ensue, completely forgetting all about Asher. The menacing snarls from both wolves drives a corrupt excitement up my veins as I begin to grow giddy in anticipation as Ria, Zena and everyone else. Both bulky wolves with contrasting colors slam into each other in the air, snapping their powerful dentitions at each other’s face.Getting awed by the second as the fight grows with m
“…are you even listening?” What? I snap out of it with a tremble that courses down my body and give a nervous laugh as Asher frowns at me. Geez! I think I’ve been spacing out a lot lately, what’s wrong with me?“Uh…sorry, I was distracted. Can you…take that again?” I ask in a low voice, careful not to brush his temper and dent his foul mood. He sighs, dragging a hand down his face as he corners me with a narrow stare. Ugh, I think I made him mad already. He doesn’t say anything at first and looks away, making my eyes trail after him and I gulp and instantly look away stiffly.“See? That’s what keeps you distracted, Heather. I don’t want to sound like some insufferable jealous boyfriend but…” His voice strains off from there and I tense with silent alarm.“…don’t you think you spend too much time with him?” I lift my head now to see him bo
