(I hate my boss)
Grayson was taken aback, he was expecting something else but certainly not her using the bathroom to defecate. It was already embarrassing as it is and he could see her eyes glistening with tears,no one wants to be in her kind of situation so she was dismissed with the wave of a hand to make light of it.
Kathleen nipped on her bottom lip as she walked out of the office—the cowardly voice peered it's ugly head out urging her to quit, to walk away without paying her shame any glance but she was broke....she was out of groceries and hasn't had water in her apartment for a week. All she needed was a fat avaricious paycheck as compensation for her woes.
The hours went by quickly and she wasn't yelled at or called in by Mr Grayson, which was a miracle as she couldn't bear looking him in the eye after knowing she had clogged one of his toilets. Her work hours was finally over when she was called in, rolling her eyes she walked into the office and noticed he took his jacket off—his broad shoulders and beautiful biceps were clearly showing off as the reverie of those same hands tossing her around on the huge bed crossed her mind.
Why did shitty men have to be so handsome?? she pondered as she stood still with her hands behind her back waiting for his instructions even though she wasn't in her working hours any longer. Grayson sensed her presence anywhere, her Arabian nosegay couldn't be mistaken for someone else's—in all honesty he couldn't get it out of his head ever since that night.
‘Grab my car keys and come with me'. He said walking past her out the door.
She froze momentarily confused as to where they were going, then quickly grabbed the car keys to tag along. They reached the garage and her measly doubts were finally confirmed—it was the same car that took her to the hotel that night! he was Mathew Knowles and he knew her!!
She frowned deeply as she handed him the car keys and got into the car without question whatsoever, she felt insulted to the highest degree—even more than before knowing he knew they slept together and wouldn't even acknowledge that fact. It made her hate him even more.
An hour later they were right in front of his apartment. She didn't know what prompted her to come out of the car, the spirit that led her right into the elevator and up to the penthouse he called his home and now she was standing right in front of his door as he punched in the key codes to open it.
She gulped hard, not sure what she was to expect as this was happening all too fast. Was he trying to get her in his bed again? is he going to keep her hostage? are they going to have a wonderful time again? all these questions wavered in her little head until the door was finally opened and she followed him in.
The sound of the door closing behind them was startling as she felt herself jolt. It took a minute before she could finally admire the museum that was his home—compared to the sardine can she calls her apartment, his was vast in style and minimal to say the least...it was evident he didn't have his soul put into this and just hired an interior designer instead.
The furniture matched the floor as well as the walls, all beige and sparkling clean which was beautiful to say the least, the paintings on the wall was also soulless as well as the beautiful statue of a little angel above the fireplace—his home looked like one of those on the architectural digest magazines she would always read in her spare time, not one an actual human lived in.
‘If you're done moping around you can have this'. Grayson returned after ten minutes with a few suits still in their cases.
‘Sir??'
‘You've worked as a personal assistant before Miss Turner so I'm sure you know what this is'.
‘It's a couple of tuxedos sir'.
‘Yes. I need them to be freshly ironed before 10am tomorrow—by you Miss Turner....I need you to iron them and when I say I iron I mean—'
‘But sir i—'
‘That's all. You can take your leave now and remember...10am. If you're worried about working overtime trust me it's going to be handled in your paycheck'. With that he just turned around and walked away leaving her with a blank stare on her face.
She blinked twice, pinching herself to make sure she wasn't in some abstract state of immense delusion, that the man whom she called her boss didn't just ask her to iron out his suits. She so badly wanted to scream as she left the building, her eyes remained in a rapt state as she took the ride home, still shocked to the point of mute as she purchased a one dollar chicken pot pie with the last food stamp she had.
‘I hate him so much!!!'. She finally cried her heart out as she finally snapped out of her trance in Nana willow's house. Apparently the old lady was the only one in the building to own an ironing board and an iron.
‘We could sell' em', Nana Willow muttered looking down at the jacket Kathleen had on her board, ‘I know a five grand suit when I see one'.
‘Who spends five grand on a suit Nana??'. Emily rubbed her eyes as she woke up from her slumber on the couch.
‘Rich people do Emily', Kathleen sighed deeply, ‘Can't believe I have to be a personal maid to some bastard who doesn't even have the decency to treat me like a normal human being!'.
She was bitter, she was bitter and she was angry, and most of all her chicken pot pie tasted rotten so she had to feed on some beef jerky sticks from Nana's fridge. She wanted to cry, she had a job with a good pay but she was wretched and she loathed being poor....if she wasn't poor then she wouldn't have to deal with evil men like Grayson Hunter—men who used women and treated them like a cheap commodity.
‘It's the price we have to pay to live my darling', Nana placed a reassuring hand on her shoulder, ‘Worked for a miser bastard myself in my old days...for a couple of pennies just to get by—but I knew I was working for a better life...i for sure didn't get rich but life did get better'.
Kathleen nodded and even though Nana's kind words made her feel a lot better, it still didn't change the fact that she hated her boss more than anything in the world.

Connor McKnight could feel the laugh incoming as his best friend narrated the most unbelievable story known to mankind, over a glass of whiskey in a small pub in the middle of the city, ‘So you're saying she works for you now?'.
‘Yeah she does'. Grayson responded with annoyance as he could sense the incessantly teasing that was to follow.
‘So are you seduced by her?? like does she give you a—'
‘Don't be a dickhead Connor', Grayson frowned, ‘She's a respectable woman. Don't talk about her like she's some cheap slut'.
Connor's brows rose in skepticism, ‘Don't you think you're being a little too hypocritical about this Mr Hunter? I mean for a respectable woman you sure don't treat her as one judging the way you are as a boss...and might I care to mention, you can't like you didn't recognize her after leaving her in a bed with two hundred bucks! even the darndest of prostitutes wouldn't take that amount!'.
Now that he thought of it, he felt like a jackass, ‘I know it's as bad as it sounds but what could I do?? She clearly needed the job and you know how I always keep personal matters out of the office Connor'.
‘So Kathleen is out of the question to get over Charisse huh?'. Connor asked and Grayson sighed.
‘She is definitely out of the question'
(Criminal)‘Hey you look tired'. Jacob walks up to Kathleen's desk the next morning with two cups of coffee in his hands.Stretching her arm as she was just interrupted from her open-eyed slumber, she yawned loudly, ‘Yeah I had a rough night'. By a rough night she meant having to iron out two extremely difficult suits, with so much tremble to not burn the delicate material that it was, go through a huge file case and was up until 3am having to figure out her outfit for work tomorrow..... yeah she had a rough night.‘Well you're in for a treat', Jacob smiled, ‘The coffee shop right across are having a party so I got us free coffee and a cream cheese bagel to go with it. Ophelia mentioned you've been eating bagels a lot'.Kathleen's cheese rose with color of embarrassment as it was the pure truth—she'd been eating bagels a lot for lunch as it was the only thing she could get, by that she meant the free box of bagels she in a dumpster near a Costco supermarket. It wasn't expired and unop
(Back to the roots)‘Hello Miss Turner'.Kathleen was puzzled, gobsmacked to say the least. Her boss was standing right in front of her! it wasn't a dream, nor a prank, neither a simulation of some sort which she prayed for it to be.... Grayson Hunter was standing right in front of her—in her apartment building—while she was wearing the most atrocious looking flip-flops worn out sweatshirt....he was standing in front of her!.I hope he didn't hear it, she thought as she blinked endlessly until she could muster up the courage to speak, ‘Wh... what brings you here sir?'.‘You', he responded, ‘I came here for you'.Now Kathleen wasn't sure by what he meant, coming here for her could mean a lot of things and she hoped it wasn't the latter she thought of, ‘Uhhh you came here for me??'.‘Yes', he nodded, ‘I need you to get dressed and meet me outside immediately. No questions asked Miss Turner'.‘I don't work outside work hours s—'‘I'll pay you extra so are you coming down or not??'.mHe
(What is wrong with Mr Grayson??)‘Mr Grayson!!!'. She screamed at the top of her lungs in sheer disbelief of what just transpired right in front of her.‘Fuck!'. The punched man got up after a few minutes of being disheveled, ‘You're gonna pay for that man!'.‘Maybe take your time and listen. Then you'll be able to hear the concept of consent when it happens...if a woman doesn't want you just move on'. Grayson said calmly and walked away grabbing Kathleen's hand along. She remained mute as they walked out of the building, dazed and torn between feelings as she couldn't understand why he would hit someone for her—this was the same man who treated her like crap for the last two weeks after denying her existence on the spot and now he's fighting for her like he was her boyfriend. She gulped hard when she got into his car, without his driver when they both drove off and could feel the tension brewing between the both of them, she had to tread lightly use her words with caution or else it
(Work Husband)Kathleen returned twenty minutes later with the bottle of vinegar and frowned deeply catching her boss from the corner of her eye throwing it into the bin....there was absolutely no reason for him to send her on such a useless errand, it was all the more frustrating not knowing why he would do such a think in the first place. She sighed deeply returning back to work only for Jacob to return after a while and handed her a neck massager since she complained about how sore she was—he was a charming human, super sweet and really considerate but his gestures were just getting a little too much in her opinion, hence why Ophelia called him her work husband. It wasn't a secret about Jacob liking her and she wished she could reciprocate the feeling but her past relationships were nothing to write home about—her ex boyfriend was a married man, her one night stand happened to be her boss who didn't recognize her for some reason so there was no saying what could happen this time ar
(Work Husband part 2)‘I don't know why she would betray me like this'. Grayson said calmly as he returned to his seat in the restaurant after witnessing his ex girlfriend kiss her so proclaimed best friend in a car at the parking lot.He was hurt, hurt and his ego was even bruised the more. Not only did she break up with him, but she made it seem like it was his fault when she was the one going behind his back to cheat with her best friend!.The waiter arrived with the food they ordered and he just couldn't bring himself to chew any of it even though the lobster mousse looked amazing. He didn't love Charisse but he was comfortable with her, she was his woman for three years and even though their relationship wasn't moving forward—he still wanted to end things on his own terms.‘Well technically she's not yours anymore so...'. Connor murmured looking away to avoid Grayson's dirty glare.Grayson frowned, ‘She's not yours but she moved on quickly don't you—'‘You had a one night stand w
(The dinner from hell)She was beyond confused and shocked learning about the flowers placed on her desk by Jacob before she arrived at the office. Ophelia's disappointment went down the drain the moment the ignorance about the situation came to light—someone was playing foul, foul and was clearly against her relationship with Jacob moving further. Her brows furrowed as she brought out the rose gold dress which was way neater than she imagined, and wasn't in need of any ironing. All that was left was her hair and makeup, looking at the split ends she had it wasn't looking too promising—but she was determined to leave an impression on Mr Grayson's face, that even if she was a woman of low income she still had elegance.‘But who would do such a thing??'. She asked herself again just thinking about the flowers and a soft sigh left her, there was no explanation as to why anyone would do such a thing—the only person close to being a suspect was her boss and he certainly wasn't interested i
(The dinner from hell part 2)‘Good evening Mr Jacob. Meet my assistant Kathleen Hunter'.‘Oh she's more than just an assistant alright. It's a wonder she's able to last this long considering your strict work ethics'.‘She's very good at what she does sir'.Kathleen breathed a sigh of relief being introduced as Grayson's personal assistant and not just his woman of the night as she feared earlier. She took a deep breath again and used this opportunity to glance around the long buffet table where almost everyone was of high status and calibre, it definitely made her feel out of place.Grayson however conversed with the guests like it was a normal thing to do, these were his people—posh people, pristine people, eloquent and classy people and then there was her—an ex teen convict who lived in the slums of new York trying to make a name for herself. Her confidence went down the drain just seeing the people of luxury, knowing she couldn't be where they were no matter how she dreamt.Grayso
(I have a date)Kathleen screamed the next morning waking up to a late alarm clock. It was spoiled and she forgot to change the batteries the night before, now she had overslept and an hour late for work.‘He's going to kill me...he's going to kill me'. She sang in frustration as she managed to put on an outfit without bothering to take a shower or brush her teeth—there was makeup wipes and mouthwash in her bathroom which was a quicker substitute, all this wouldn't spare her from the grave cause her boss was so going to bury her.‘Kathy!!'. She heard Mr Garrison's voice and banging on her door which made her scream silently as things were for sure not going to plan. She just had a week left, just a week left until she got a huge fat paycheck and now she was a at a risk of losing that same job .‘Hey Mr Gary'. She put on a wide grin as she opened the door fully dressed and ready to bolt as soon as she had the opportunity. He brought his hand forward, ‘Where's the money you owe me Kathy
(The Final End)Two weeks later and Kathleen could be seen at the block's cookout organized by everyone in the apartment building to celebrate Nana Willow's birthday, she was ill and in her final days, and instead of spending it in the hospital she wanted to be around the people she loved and cared about.Plates started to pass around until it got to her, the smell of the best cheese steak sandwich from Devante's wafted into her nostrils and she could feel her mouth water just looking at it. Next to her sat Joana and her adorable twelve year old, Wallace was trying to find an excuse to play with the other kids whilst his mother was busy getting enamoured by Bobo, the dog walker from next block.‘So how's life treating you huh?', Mr Garrison asked as he took a seat next to her, ‘You know we miss you around here'.Her brows arched, ‘Come on...almost a year ago you wanted to throw me out on the streets. Don't play favors now that I've leased my apartment now'.‘Well that friend of yours
(Stay away from my son part 2)‘No??'‘No'‘What do you mean No?!'.Kathleen sighed deeply, this was like a movie, ‘Look here Mrs Hunter—I am not what you think I am, a golddigger. I love Grayson and considering how he was the one who chased me until I became his girlfriend I think you have an idea on what it is'.Evangeline pursed her lips as she placed a blank cheque on the table, she slid it over to Kathleen's side of the table, ‘That's a blank cheque right there.... anything you need... whatever you want...it could be a million dollars, name your price. Name your price and I'll give you what it takes just to stay away from my son'.Kathleen stared down at the cheque feeling almost insulted, the least Evangeline could do was be original and try something else that wasn't from the obvious plot of a movie, she chuckled softly, ‘You know this would've been the offer of a lifetime but why would I choose to take what you're offering, knowing fully well that your son can give me double?'
(Stay away from my son)Grayson was trying to get rid of his house hunger by having almost a gallon of fruit loops and milk, he was tired and now unemployed. It felt strange having breakfast all by himself by this time of the day, when he heard someone stomping towards him from behind and turned around to Kathleen, she wasn't happy, he smiled.‘Morning babe'.‘You told me everything's okay?!!'. She cried out.He shrugged, ‘Everything is okay. You're back from work early'.She winced, ‘Cut the crap Gray! Of course I'm back from work early cause I fucking got fired! I got a promotion and in a week I loose my fucking job all because my boyfriend couldn't give me a heads up about him losing his position!'.Her eyes were turning red by the minute, he pursed his lips losing his appetite immediately as his cereal turned soggy, ‘I'm sorry and yes—i stepped down as CEO'She gasped, 'Why would you do that?! I thought you loved your job more than anything Gray....more than me!'.He frowned deepl
(The New CEO)November 31st, 10pm to be exact, Grayson Hunter stepped down from his position as the CEO of Hunter's Group. He worked half of his life to be here, missed out on the fun of being a young man, never spent Christmas or his birthday with anyone, almost developed a eating disorder with his constant lack of a balance meal and all for what? all for his father to throw it away with some stupid marriage proposal. He didn't care, even if he worked his butt off to become the CEO he didn't care and he would do the same all over again—throw it all away if it meant he couldn't be with Kathleen. He was successful enough on his own, he had his own money which meant he didn't need his father's inheritance, he was rich enough to take care of himself and take care of his woman. He wasn't leaving Kathleen for anything, not even the job he loved most. A sniffle escaped him as he could feel the tears brimming in his eyes, ‘Take me somewhere else'. He instructed the driver in a icy tone.‘Sir
(Don't marry your assistant)It took a lot of contemplation but with enough pressure from Kathleen he finally managed to get into the car, dressed in a simple royal blue shirt with two buttons down and casual pants. Royal blue was his mother's least favorite color, she usually said the color reminded her of commoners in the most disdainfully way possible and he loved to piss her off.The drive lasted an hour before he got to his father's mansion. The Hunter family house, a sigh left his lips as he got out of the car, standing in front of the white mansion and feeling a dreaded sense of loneliness just looking at it. He hadn't been here in almost two years, he hated it, the two pillars that held the porch together up to the main door, the long bushes of carnellas that led up to the backyard which he was mildly allergic to but no one cared—he hated every single one of it, the stupid bright chandelier that once fell on his leg and his father had to tell him to act like a man and stop wai
(Wallace)Grayson frowned deeply seeing the list of potential candidates for the position of his new assistant—Incompetent they all were, unimpressive and most of all they weren't Kathleen. She'd done such a good job being his assistant that a replacement just felt like a let down, trying to fill up a void space. He flipped through the pages of each personal information when Theresa suddenly walked into his office with a stack of files, placing it on his table even though he didn't instruct her to. His brows arched as he looked up at her, ‘Pardon??'.‘These are the breakdowns you asked for sir'. She muttered in the most stoic way possible that it almost felt like a mocking sarcasm, ‘Unfortunately the assistant supervisor isn't here to bring these herself'.It subtly sounded like she was trying to insult his work ethic, and he knew Kathleen wasn't one to slack on the job, ‘It isn't the assistant's job. It's your job'.‘Sorry sir'. She nodded. He was already annoyed, he hated the blatan
(Babysitting Wallace)Grayson woke up the next morning before Kathleen to get ready for work. It was her day off which meant she had all the time in the world to rest, a smile crossed his lips as he walked out of the closet minutes later all dressed up after taking a shower to still see her clearly asleep with her curls sprawled over the pillow. He felt like a married man, she felt like his wife. He wanted their relationship to be like this forever, smirking as he adjusted the cufflinks on his sleeve. Kathleen rolled on and about the bed to the edge, he sat down and brushed a strand off her face before leaning down to kiss her cheek. Her eyes opened slowly, ‘Good morning'.‘Mmmh', he kissed her lips next, ‘I'll be back soon okay??'.‘I'll miss you'. She murmured still hazy.'I know', he replied kissing her again, ‘Don't forget you have your babysitting job today'.It finally clicked and she jerked up to her feet in a mode of panic, ‘Oh shit I forgot!! I need to go...oh it's not until
(The babysitter)Evangeline took a sip of champagne as Helena Watson joined her in the restaurant. A sharp brow lifted seeing as Helena had on the same faux coat as hers, she hated that, she hated duplicates of her and Helena Watson wasn't short of a dupe.‘Fancy seeing you here Eva', Helena drawled as she took a seat, ‘I haven't seen you in a while'.Evangeline frowned, ‘You've only met me once at The Le oud's art show. To what do I owe this meeting Helena? I was told it's beneficial'.‘It's about our kids', Helena delved straight into the point, ‘I'm proposing an arranged marriage'.Charming, Evangeline thought as she took another sip of her drink, ‘I'm listening....'*********Kathleen let out a moan as she felt his fingers in-between the walls of her special place. She playfully slapped his shoulder which made him laugh and finally back off as they were just having a wonderful time in the bathtub, her hair was wrapped up in a large bun with curly strands escaping at the front and
(Mommy issues Part 2)Kathleen wasn't sure how it happened but before she knew it she was on his bed, stark naked with his mouth on the side of her neck placing soft kisses.‘You were good today babe'. He whispered before kissing her so hard on the mouth that it took her breath away. She smiled as he broke away, ‘I'm never letting you do that again'.‘Do what??'.‘Seduce me', she stroked the undercut of his hair, ‘I'm worried about you Gray'.‘Can we not talk about me right now?', he kissed the corner of her mouth, ‘I feel like we should go another—' He was interrupted by the sudden ringing of his phone, ‘Ignore it'.He tried to kiss again and the phone wouldn't stop, she laughed softly pushing him away from her with gentleness, ‘You should answer that. I'm going to make coffee'.‘Stay', he demanded, ‘I'll be back in a minute'.She watched him leave not before he lightly tapped her buttocks in a playful manner, making a mental note to get her shots immediately to avoid conception.
