As I reached a lonely part of the palace corridors, I released a breath I hadn't realized I was holding. My hand pressed against the cold wall as I tried to steady my racing heart.
“Fuck.” I sighed. I looked up and for a while, everything was blurry, I closed my eyes again.
"He's suspicious," I whispered to myself, the weight of his doubt pressing on me like a suffocating embrace. The plans that I had made out of desperation were now threatening to expose the truth I desperately tried to conceal.
