Chapter 4

"Why are you following me?"

"I'm not following you. We're just heading in the same direction."

"Whatever." I increased my pace but he still followed.

"Can we talk?"

"Why?"

"I just want to talk to you...about something."

"Look, I don't know why you keep acting like we're friends."

"Please, I need to talk to you."

"Fine. What is it?" We stopped at the busstop.

"Did he tell you?" I nodded. "I want to apologize first."

"For f*cking my friend then dumping me?"

"Uh, y-yes. I'm sorry."

"It's fine. I don't care anymore."

"Really?" The bus arrived. I immediately got on. He sat with me. "You're not mad?"

"I never said I'm not mad. I said I don't care."

"Oh. So can we be friends?"

"Why?"

"J-just. I don't want to be the cause of your friendship ending."

"It already ended when you decided to sleep with my friend."

"I didn't do it on purpose though. It just happened."

I chuckled. "Ha, it just happened." I put on my head phones. He took one out though and put it into his ear.

"Can I listen with you?" Why is he being annoying?!

Then I remembered Lupus. I should get some home monitors to keep an eye on him. I may not know anything about dogs or wolves but I know for sure some dogs go crazy when their owners are not home.

'Owners', I think I hate that word. I definitely don't own Lupus. I'd say we're roommates. More friends than owner and pet. I smiled to myself thinking about returning to Lupus after my classes.

"What are you thinking? You seem deep in thoughts and you're smiling."

"Why do you care? And why are you trying to be my friend? I really don't want to be around you."

"I totally get it. But I'm just trying to make things right."

"Then break up with Holland and get back with me."

"Okay. I'll do that."

"You're such a jerk." I got up and got off the bus. Someone tell me why I fell for a guy like him.

It didn't take long to get to class and as usual, I set in the middle. I don't like to be in the front and at the back I can't see clearly.

Holland came and sat next to me. "Hi."

"Yeah, hi. Can you tell your boyfriend to stop bothering me." I got up and went to the front.

I already can't wait to go home. I miss Lupus already. Even though he's a wolf he's such a diva. He always want to eat first and he made me get used to sitting on the floor with him when eating.

The biggest challenge is getting him to bath. He does NOT like soap but likes the bubbles. I always have to keep him from drinking the soapy water though.

Okay, I love him now.

Sigh, finally time to go home. It's already 5pm and Lupus hasn't eaten anything since morning when I left him breakfast. That reminds me; I have to get him some stuff like chewing toys or a bed. I'm pretty sure he won't use the bed if I buy it since he's used to sleeping with me.

I went to a nearby mall first. It's not as packed as I thought it would be. I hardly come to the mall since I don't need a lot of things.

I went to the pet shop then headed straight for the dog section. I'm definitely not buying him clothes. Wait, do I need a leash or chain for when we go on walks? I don't want to limit him though. Nah, I'm not getting it. I guess the only things I'm getting are toys. He's such a big boy you'd think he won't like these. I wonder how old he is.

After buying like 3 toys and an eating bowl I headed out. Then I saw something that made me super bothered. Holland is with Mike and they look all lovey-dovey. I hate it!

I decided to ignore it and walk away but they saw me. "Keylan?" Mike called out then jogged over to me.

"What now?"

"Woaw, I just wanted to say hi. Wait, you have a pet?" He asked while staring at my shopping bag that had the pet store logo.

"How many times should I tell you, I don't want to be around you and your boyfriend." Holland came too. I immediately marched away.

I took an uber since I wanted to get home immediately. I got home within 10 minutes.

"Alright, moment of truth." I spoke to myself right before opening the door.

Right after opening the door a little Lupus jumped onto me causing me to fall. "Hey buddy." I chuckled while he was licking my face nonstop. Then my smile immediately disappeared after seeing the mess he made.

The couch is completely destroyed, the floor is covered in toilet paper and feathers from the cushions, there's also water, don't know where that came from though, the kitchen is covered with a lot of sauces and condiments, and how the hell did he get the condiments that were in the upper cabinets?! I expected bad things but this, wow.

You know what, I blame myself for this. I sighed before sitting next to him. "You did this?" I looked at Lupus with an obviously disappointed face. "You promised me you'd be fine on your own, you know?" He licked my face again. "You know what, I'm not dealing with this now. I got you some things." I opened the bag and gave him the toys. He immediately got excited and started bitting the octopus or whatever it is.

"I'm glad you like it." I sat down on the feathery couch. I'm immediately buying monitors now. I ordered them online. "Lupus, you wanna go outside?"

"Woof!"

"Now that I think about it, you haven't been outside for two days now. Let's go to the back." We went to the yard and he got really excited again about going outside. He kept on running around chasing the butterflies that were on my roses. "Don't destroy my flowers, okay."

"Woof woof woof woof woof!"

I chuckled at how cute he is. Such a big boy but really a big baby. Then I remembered the bucket I had left outside for three days. Nasty! I took it back inside then poured the bloody water in the toilet.

I went back and sat at the pave looking at Lupus playing around. It still pains me that I can't take him on regular walks. Maybe we could go out at night when everyone is asleep.

"Lupus,"

"Woof!" He came running towards me.

"Do you want to go back to the woods tonight?" He started wincing again. "Not permanently, you big baby. Just for a night walk."

"Woof!"

"Okay, it's confirmed now. You definitely understand me."

"Woof!" He licked my cheek. I guess I'm used to him licking my face 'cause he does that at least 20 times a day. He must really love me too I guess.

I tidied up while he was outside. It took me about 3 hours. "At least I don't have classes tomorrow so I'm not leaving you."

"Woof!"

"Now, let's get to bed. I'm exhausted after cleaning up your mess." We went to bed after dinner.

The following morning he woke me up like usual, with a lick on the face. I have no plans today so I just washed my face, made us both breakfast then we sat on the couch. I still haven't replaced the TV he smashed so we're just staring at a black screen.

We both fell asleep on the couch not after long with his head on my lap as usual.

After a couple of hours, I presume, my eyes slowly slid open. My leg is now numb because of Lupus sleeping on me. Wait, it's not Lupus who's sleeping on my thigh. It's a guy, big guy. It's that guy from before.

I immediately panicked causing him to fall off the couch. "W-what the hell?!" He got up while rubbing his head where he hit the floor. "What are you doing back here?"

"Hmm?"

"W-where's Lupus?"

"Lupus is here." He spoke softly. Wow, this guy is tall. And he's naked.

"What?"

Suddenly his skin got hella hairy, he got down on all his fours and turned into...L-Lupus?

"Wait, what?!"

"Woof!"

I blacked out.
