“She has high fever…” Hunter uttered worriedly – as he felt Leila shivering in his arms.
Uncle Bob told him about it – but he was in panic. He didn’t know what to do. He hugged her tighter – but to no avail.
Hunter let out a deep sigh – and removed his shirt.
Skin to skin – he could feel Leila’s warm body on him.
He swallowed the lump in his throat – as Leila moved closer to her. He was now extra sensitive – but no matter how much he wanted to push away the woman in his arms, he couldn’t. He had to stay there.
However, his hell worse
Chapter 38Safety***Leila woke up with her body aching. She immediately got up from the cold floor when she saw pair of eyes staring at her. She almost fell because her vision spun. And it was because of the fact that Hunter’s hawklike eyes were intently looking at her. That made her shocked. She swallowed the lump in her throat – as she felt Hunter’s strong arms wrapped into her. She didn’t know whether it was a good thing that his reflexes were quick – causing her not to fall from the cold floor. Her cheeks instantly blushed when their eyes met. Not to mention the electrifying sensation that was rushing through her veins when she had touched him – skin to skin. She wanted to push him instantly – but she was caught up with the moment. It was as if she didn’t want it to end.Leila couldn’t deny the memories that ran into her mind the moment she saw those deep blue ocean blue eyes. The way he cuddled her and…She instantly shook her head – as she stopped herself from thinking too muc
Chapter 39Train***Three days passed and Leila discovered that pretending that she almost failed the challenge seemed to do good to her.No one bothered her.Besides, only the Blacks knew about what truly happened. However, this was her first day of training.Hunter’s grandfather asked Hector, Hunter, and Myrtle to guide her.Well, it was a great thing to know that she could be assisted by them. However, thinking about it – it seemed like she couldn’t be at peace if she and Hunter were the only ones around. And it looked like Myrtle noticed it, too.“I can go with the two of you…” She suggested kindly.Leila smiled inwardly – and gave her a grateful look. But then, the two men immediately shook their heads at her.“No.” Hector quickly contradicted.“You are not in condition to do that, Myrtle.” Hunter also said – with concern laced in his voice.Leila swallowed hard – as she looked at the three. Then, her eyes moved to Hunter. Her forehead creased – as she also remembered something.
Chapter 40New***“Can you just smile and extend your patience at me?”For the nth time, Leila said – like a slip of the tongue.“Can you just focus on your training?” Hunter retorted back – as he leaned on the huge tree near him.Her left brow shot upwards.“If I have shifted to my inner wolf – would you smiled for me?” Leila smilingly inquired. There was hint of friskiness in her voice.Hunter swallowed hard and let out a deep sigh.“That might be the reason why your inner wolf wouldn’t come out. You are so out of focus.” Hunter commented harshly – causing her to be taken aback. It seemed like what she had been thinking was leading her to a painful way.She couldn’t believe that she was slowly being eaten by jealousy and agony inside her. It was as if for the first time in her life, she wanted to have the courage to let Hunter see how vulnerable she was right now.His harsh words were just too painful to accept. And it was rooting deeply inside her chest. Leila didn’t know what els
Chapter 41In Love***“What the hell!” Hunter uttered in furious way.Leila let out a deep sigh.“If there was nothing else to say, I will go now.” Leila said weakly – before turning her back at them. However, before she could even take a single step – a warm and huge hand already stopped her.Volts of electricity instantly attacked her senses – causing her to swallow hard.“Where do you think you’re going?” Hunter snapped at her – causing her forehead to crease. Her mouth slightly dropped – when she heard him say those words. Even though his eyes were directed to where his brother was, Leila could sense the emerging tension in the air.“Answer me, Hector. What is the meaning of that? I am Leila’s training partner.” Hunter said those words – dripping with annoyance and possessiveness. Her breathing hitched. She couldn’t believe that she could sense possessiveness in the way Hunter says those words.Or was she just hallucinating?Yes.There could be no way that Hunter would say those
Chapter 42Raw***Hunter didn’t know how long he had been standing in front of Leila’s door. All that he could think of was the fact that Leila’s words were still spinning inside his head.***“I love you, Hunter…”***Those words kept on running in his head – and it was clouding his mind right at that very moment. He couldn’t stop the happiness that was warming his heart. And it made him smile – then, he licked his lips. But then, the smile pasted on his lips was still visible. He couldn’t stop the fact that it was tickling his heart.“Damn it!” He murmured under his breath – as he ran his palm on his face. However, Leila’s next words resonated in his head.***“I love you, Hunter… But I think this is g-goodbye… Please don’t be my training partner anymore. For our goodness’ sake…”***But then, those words didn’t let his smile fade.“Let’s see… Leila… Let’s see…” Those were the only words that he could say – as he instantly mapped his plans inside his head.***“Darn it, Leila Merca

Read at your own risk.***Leila pursed her lips – as she smelled his addicting scent. Her eyes turned into a darker shade – and so, she tried so hard to push Hunter away from her. But she almost pulled her hands away when she felt the electrifying sensation that was rushing in her veins.Damn it!Even Silver could feel the tension inside her – causing her to groan in frustration. However, she was being clouded with so many emotions that she couldn’t comprehend now.And it was all because of Hunter! She closed her hands into balled fists – as she tried to stop herself from trembling. Her legs were also wobbling – as she tried so hard to create some distance between them.Leila swallowed hard.Especially when she felt Hunter held her hands. Her breathing became heavier – as she stared at him direct into his eyes. However, she felt like she was melting under his gaze – and she wanted to
Chapter 44Talk***Leila didn’t know how many times Hunter tried to call her from the other side of the door – but she couldn’t find the courage to face him.It slowly dawned on her.Hunter kissed her! Why?Why does he have to do that?‘Don’t be such a hypocrite! As if you didn’t enjoy every bit of it!’ A part of her mind naughtily commented – which made her groan.Leila let out a deep sigh. She didn’t want to feel such confusion. However, she couldn’t ignore the fact that she was becoming a bit scared. Everything about love and relationship was just… new to her.And she didn’t know how to respond. However, she knew that sooner or later she had to face it.She had to face Hunter. It was as if she was back in square one – but this time, she had to face her feelings, too. She thought that she had already fixed her mind to moving on – but the heck! Everything was a mess again. And it was because of Hunter!‘Is it really?’ She mentally thought.Leila let out another deep sigh – as she to
Chapter 45Moonlight***“You sounded like this conversation won’t turn out good.” Hunter commented – as he walked near her.She looked at him, amused – especially when he looked like he was already going to pout. But he looked away – causing my left brow to move upwards. It seemed like he was too embarrassed of his sudden childishness. However, that only made Leila’s smile grew wider. For a second, she felt like the wall built between them vanished into thin air.But the kiss suddenly flashed in her mind – causing her cheek to blush profusely.Hunter sat on the stair – just beside her.She felt his presence. But when he sat beside her, she felt his warmth – making her shiver in a good way. It was as if he was such a human jacket – although it was just only his presence.‘How

Reader’s discretion is advised. Thank you.***Leila didn’t know how to react. All that she knew that time was the fast beating of her heart – and it was something that she could already hear from her ears. The moment felt so surreal – but in a negative way.She could feel the sudden fear engulfing her entire being – something that she didn’t even feel a moment ago while fighting the rogues. The moment she saw blood dripping from Hunter’s body, she knew that she was scared – not for her own life but for him.‘Isn’t that what you wished for? Isn’t that what you meant to do when you discovered what happen to your father?’ A part of her mind reminded her.She gritted her teeth.Right now, she didn’t know anymore.“Damn it!” She whispered under her breath – as she watched Tamika tried to cure Hunter’s wound from a

And she wanted to blame herself for that.‘How the heck could they freaking conceal their presence?’ She asked herself – annoyed. She only noticed three rogue presences a while ago.But now…There might be a dozen rogues around them now.Damn it!She just couldn’t believe it.‘How the heck did that happen?’ She mentally asked herself once again – for she thought that she had already improved. That time, she just felt so annoyed and hopeless.“We are in the depths of the South, Leila. This is their territory. Don’t be hard on yourself.” Silver answered deliberately – as if she was trying to console her.She let out a deep sigh in
Chapter 77Strong***“I am a seer, Leila.”Her lips slightly parted ways – as she stared at her.Tammy’s expression didn’t even change, but she knew that she wouldn’t even joke about it. However, it was just so shocking to know.Leila took a deep breath – as she tried to process her thoughts.“I know that it is hard to believe… But I am… And I know what situation you are into…” Tammy stated seriously – as if she was completely trying to persuade her.But Leila slightly shook her head. She gave her an unbelievable look – it was as if she had her own thoughts, disagreeing with her.“You see the future… And you let them… You are just too kind, Tamika…” She uttered coldly. However, Tammy shook her head.“I can’t see my future, Leila… And all I can do is to be kind… There will never be wrong in being kind…” She contradicted – causing her to groan in annoyance. Then, she smirked at her.“There will never be wrong in being kind… That’s a ridiculous thinking, Tammy.” She said – emphasizing h
Chapter 76Seer***Leila smirked at Tammy sarcastically. She couldn’t believe that she could hear those words from a peculiar woman like her. It might be really true that looks could really be deceiving – and that odd words could come from someone you less expect to come from. Then, she shook her head as she smiled without humor.Leila looked at her with her cold and serious expression. Her dark brown eyes turned a bit darker – almost close to black. And right there and then, Tammy could feel the seething anger from her.“Kindness? Love? The old Leila?” She sardonically said those words – as if it was something so disappointing and disgusting. Then, she chuckled without humor – and shook her head once again. It was as if she couldn’t believe what she heard from her. It was as if she could hear something so ridiculous – but it was something that she could be annoyed for.“You must be joking, Tamika.” She uttered in pure irritation – as she gave emphasis to each and every word. This ti
Chapter 75Old***After those simple talks with Tamika, Leila didn’t know how to react. She didn’t even know how to face her the next day.She didn’t even know how to interact with her.***“Sometimes it is better to share things with stranger. That way the lesser the person knows who you are, the better. There would be lesser judgment. Don’t you think, Leila?”***Those were the words from Tamika before she finally left her in the kitchen.Leila felt like everything that she heard from Tamika – were all meant for her. It was as if even though she didn’t share anything to her, she already knew. And as if she was telling her that she was not there to judge her – but to understand her.It was one thing that she was hoping for.Someone that would hear her pain.Besides, she couldn’t tell all of those to her mother. She had no one beside her. She had no one whom she could lean on nor be her crying buddy. No one could even listen to her stories… her pains… her side. Not until she found he

Even though she knew that her wound was a bit deep and there was a lot of blood.“Don’t worry, this is just a small cut.” Tamika explained without any trace of emotion at all!Leila pursed her lips together – as she went towards her.“Just a small cut?! Look at your hand!” She uttered in pure disbelief. However, before she could even get closer to her – her feet stopped. She inwardly shook her head.‘No… I shouldn’t trust her… Not yet… Or simply…

It was as if she vanishe
Chapter 72Unanswered***“Who are you?”Regardless of how dry her throat was – and how her senses mess up with her, because an unknown and strange woman appeared in front of her, she managed to utter those words. And Leila wanted to clap at herself for that.Especially when it came as coldly and as bravely as she thought it could be.However, the woman’s expression didn’t change – even a bit – as she asked her that question. It was as if she was just looking at a mere object that she had seen her like forever. She was certainly – no, totally – weird. Then, in a matter of a few more seconds, she felt her body become weaker and weaker – making her swallow hard.“You are still weak. That’s understandable. You have fought death – you have to eat.” That was her answer instead. That made her forehead creased a bit more.It was as if she didn’t mind her words. It was as if she had her own world to deal with. And that she was just there for her to take care of.Well, that was what her guts w

And it was getting louder and louder. This time, she was sure. She could hear her father calling her name.“D-Dad…” She wanted to say out loud – but she couldn’t.Her lips seemed to be glued together – as if she couldn’t say anything even if she wanted to.“Leila!”There was it… again. For the nth time – she closed her eyes firmly. Then, she heard a loud and eerie growling sound – echoing in the depths of the forest.Leila shivered down her spine. Her legs started to tremble – as she felt palms turning cold. Bullet of sweat started to gather in her forehead – as she tried looking around for her father. She
