Chapter 1

Author: Just Q
"Miss Emily, your fate is bound to greatness."

The tribe's elder witch spoke, her voice like cracking ice, her cloudy eyes gleaming with an unsettling intensity.

"You were born with a sacred gift—the rare ability to bear powerful, pureblood wolf pups."

Her prophecy spread like wildfire the moment I entered the world, echoing far beyond our tribe, rippling across the entire North American continent. As I neared adulthood, werewolves from every pack came to court me, each hoping to mate with the legendary she-wolf who could grant them a bloodline of unmatched strength. Among them, Leon of the Silvermoon Pack emerged victorious. Ruthless, powerful, and backed by the might of his clan, he claimed me as his mate.

Another suitor from the Seurin Pack had also come to propose, but under Leon's crushing dominance, he yielded, instead taking my sister, Eve, as his bride.

No one could have foreseen what occured next. After ten long months of pregnancy, I gave birth... to an omega pup with dull gray fur and lifeless gray eyes. Three years later, on a night when the seven stars aligned in the sky, everything shifted again.

Eve delivered a golden-furred, golden-eyed pureblood pup. In an instant, Seurin became the frontrunner for the next President Alpha.

The news struck Leon.

"Emily!" he roared, his eyes bloodshot as he seized me by the scruff of my fur. Rage and despair poured from his every word.

"How could you disappoint me so utterly?!"

I thrashed in pain, desperate to escape his grip, but it was futile.

"Leon, please... just give me a little more time..." I begged, my voice trembling.

He was deaf to my pleas.

With a snarl, he slammed me to the ground and forced bitter wolfsbane blood down my throat. It burned, my vision became dizzy as my stomach churned.

"You useless bitch," he snarled.

Then came the flash of silver. The knife gleamed coldly in the moonlight as it sliced through me, igniting my nerves with unbearable pain. But the blade didn't stop with me.

In the next breath, it pierced my pup.

I watched, helpless, as my baby—my gray-furred pup—collapsed, lifeless. Blood soaked its downy coat, and its tiny eyes closed forever. The child I carried for ten months... slaughtered by its father's hand.

I let out a soul-shattering howl as my life faded away, each heartbeat slower than the last.

"Leon," I gasped through the agony. "Even in death, I'll make you pay. You'll suffer. I swear it."

He only looked down at me with a twisted smile.

"You'll never get that chance."

His voice was as cold as the steel that killed me—final, merciless, a death knell from the depths of hell. But in that moment, between life and death, I heard her. The Moon Goddess. Her voice was soft, mournful, like the wind brushing against a tombstone.

"Eve used magic to steal your gift. She deceived everyone."

Magic? Eve?

No wonder she could bear a pureblood pup. That was supposed to be my gift—my destiny. I wasn't ready to let go. Not like this.

"Emily," the Moon Goddess whispered. "You lost your child... were betrayed and killed by your own mate. I will grant you a second chance."

Before I could even offer thanks, I opened my eyes again—gasping, alive.

I was back. Back to the day when the werewolves came to seek my hand in mating. The pack grounds were filled with noise and pride, males displaying their strength and power, each seeking for my attention. But Leon didn't choose me this time. His eyes lingered on my sister, Eve.

And then, he spoke the words that changed everything:

"I've made my decision. I'll take Eve as my mate."

His voice was steady and sharp—like thunder cracking beside my ear.

I stood frozen. Fear crawled up my back.

Leon... chose Eve?

That's when I knew.

He remembers too. Leon had been reborn—just like me. He remembered the gray pup I gave him. The "failure." The blood. The shame. He knew my sister could bear a pureblood, and I... could not. Or so he thought. But this time, I know the truth.

And this time, I'll ensure he never gets what he desires.

The other werewolves from various packs snickered, finding the couple's not understanding the sarcasm utterly foolish. After the engagement banquet came the mate bond ceremony. As Seurin and I entered the grand hall, Leon, already present, caught sight of me, a quick flash of surprise in his eyes. But when he turned to Eve, that amazement turned into disgust.“Eve, your face… why is it so pale?”Eve paused, then playfully replied, “Leon, that’s just because you don’t understand makeup.”Leon frowned slightly but still scooped her into his arms, faking a caring smile. Everyone glanced at Eve’s exaggerated makeup and couldn’t help but chuckle. Seurin took my hand and led me into the hall. He smiled gently and pulled a delicate wolf fang necklace from his pocket, carefully placing it around my neck.“Emily, this is the highest honor of a warrior from the Black Wind Pack. I’m giving it to you now.”His deep, steady voice, struck a chord in me that rang in my heart. I was stunned, staring a
