"Hey" I looked up to see Preston leaning against the door frame of my office and pushed back from my seat and patted my lap making him walk over and sit down, his head tucked under my chin as my arms wrapped around him

"How are you feeling?" I asked and he shrugged his shoulders as he played with the strings of my hoody. It's been over a month since Princeton's passing and I know it's been hard on him. The day after the funeral he moved in with me stating that being at his house hurt because he'd wake up in the mornings expecting to see his father at the island laughing along with his older siblings but when he'd walk in the island would be empty or filled with silence as he and his siblings ate. It'll take time for him to get back to his old self and until then, I'll be here to hold him and whisper words of encouragement.
