Ezra's POV

“What did you just say?”

I gulped.

Ryler’s tone is calm, yet his voice is low and dangerous.

I already know this behavior. This is the kind of behavior that no one wants to see.

I straightened my back and faced Ryler. He is only sitting beside me so it is easy for me to calm him down.

He did acknowledge me as his mate, but I am still not sure if I have the power over him.

His eyes are all on Clement. I reach for his hand resting on the table and gently squeeze it. I am not certain if it will work, but I hope it will.

I do not want to be the reason why this meeting will end up in chaos.

The stern look on Ryler’s face was replaced by a calmer expression. His furrowed brows went at ease, the thin horizontal lines on his forehead were now gone, and his twitching eyes were now calm.
