Chapter 5

Isabella's pov

"How dare you! Let Ruth go!" I gave Amanda a cold glare, only to get a sneer from her.

"Where did you get the courage to shout at me? Do you think with Joseph Parker supporting you, I would be afraid of you?

“This is the Watson's Manson, and I am the Luna of the Watson Pack!

“You're not welcome here! Get out of here!

“As for Ruth, you won't know where she is!"

After that, she gestured for the guards to throw me out of Watson's Mansion.

The door was tightly closed in front of me, and there was no shelter nearby from the rain. 

Soon, I was soaked through.

I walked aimlessly along the street, my heart filled with anger and sadness.

I didn't find Ruth's whereabouts and ended up getting kicked out by Amanda. 

In the vast New York, I found myself nowhere to go.

Just as I was feeling terrible about myself, the sound of the car horn behind me pulled back my thoughts. 

A black Bentley pulled over next to me, and a man leaned out of the window.

"Ms. Watson, I'm Luke Cliff, Mr. Joseph’s beta in training. He said you could be here and sent me over."

On the way, I learned from Luke that, after I left, Jenna called Joseph. 

Busy with pack affairs, Joseph couldn’t leave. So he asked Luke to wait for me at the Watson's Mansion's gate.

"Buzz~"

As my phone vibrated, an anonymous text message caught my attention.

"Stay at Green Bay and wait for me there."

I pursed my lips and added his number to my contacts.

Luke and I kept silent all the way until the car stopped at Green Bay.

As soon as I entered the living room, I met Jenna with a worried look.

"Oh, my Moon Goddess! Ms. Watson, what happened? Why are you all wet? Take off your wet clothes and go take a shower, or you will catch a cold!"

I nodded, forced a smile to her, and went to the guest room on the second floor.

After taking a shower and get changed, I lay on the bed and then sent a message to Joseph.

"Thank you."

I held my phone and waited for a long time, but didn't receive his reply. 

When I was giving up on the last hope, his reply came.

"Wait for me at home. Have dinner with me tonight."

I sat restless all afternoon after receiving his message.

Joseph and I didn’t talk much yesterday before he left for work.

Now I felt a little nervous at the thought of having dinner with him tonight.

As the time approached 7:30pm, I became even more restless.

Looking at Jenna busy in the kitchen, I walked up and offered, "May I help you, Jenna?"

Not good at cooking, I only prepared a dish of Boeuf Bourguignon.

Then I went to sit at the dining table, waiting. 

Driven by extreme anxiety, I decided to go to get a glass of water.

As soon as I turned around after getting the water, I bumped into someone and almost fell.

A big hand wrapped around my waist, and I fell into solid arms.

I didn't fall on the ground, but the water in the glass spilled all over my shirt.

"Sorry for freaking you out. Are you all right?" A familiar voice came from above my head.

I looked up and met Joseph's worried gaze.

I got up from his arms immediately, lowered my head, and tugged at my shirt, feeling embarrassed.

The white shirt on me was soaked through, and my bra was visible.

"Oh, my Moon Goddess! This is so embarrassing!" I let out a scream in my mind, lowering my head with a blush.

As his breathing became increasingly heavy, he took two steps forward, trapping me between him and the wall, whispering in my ear, "Bella, have I ever told you that you're charming?"

His hot breath sprayed on my neck, and an increasingly strong cedar scent emanated from him.

As my face got burning red, I lifted my head and stared blankly at the handsome face getting closer to me.

The next moment before I knew it, a hot kiss fell on my lips.

His kiss was domineering and powerful. I quickly became weak all over. 

He held one hand around my waist and the other reached into my shirt to grope.

I clearly felt that he had an erection.

His hand slid over my skin, causing me to tremble.

Just as his hand was about to reach into my bra, I grabbed his wrist, panting heavily and shaking my head. "No!"

He didn't continue, but lowered his head and lightly bit my shoulder.

"I won't let you go next time!" His voice was hoarse.

"Ms. Watson, where are you? It's time for dinner." Jenna's voice rescued me.

I hurriedly pushed Joseph away and escaped from his embrace.

"I’m coming! I accidentally got my clothes dirty. I'm going to get changed now."

I tidied up my clothes, pursed my lips, and hurried upstairs.

When I arrived at the guest room and closed the door, I patted my cheeks, took a few deep breaths, and looked at myself in the mirror.

In the mirror, my cheeks turned red and my lips were swollen red, as if I had just experienced intense sex.

The shirt on my body was soaked through and tightly sticking to me. The buttons were unbuckled, and there was a clear mark on my right shoulder.

I covered my face and let out a sigh.

"Why can't I resist him at all? Is this the attraction between fated mates?"

When the heat on my face decreased and my lips became less red, I quickly changed my clothes and went downstairs.

After getting to the dining room, I saw Joseph sitting in the main seat.

So I quickly sat down, lowered my head and dared not look at him again.

The atmosphere was awkward until Jenna spoke out, "Mr. Parker, try it. The Boeuf Bourguignon is prepared by Ms. Watson."

"Really? Looks nice!" With that, he tried the dish gently.

I quietly looked up and happened to meet Joseph's gaze. 

He picked up a handkerchief and wiped his mouth with a smile, his gaze fixing on me.

“Delicious!” He said with a meaningful smile.

Under his hot gaze, I felt like a deer stared at by a hungry lion, not sure whether he was talking about food or me.

At the thought of this, I blushed again.
