Chapter 24

The atmosphere in the room was so dark that I found an excuse to go out to avoid Elias, but I didn't know he was still following me to the kitchen. I was drinking water to relieve the heat in my heart when Elias came over.

Seeing him almost choked on water, fortunately, I could hold it back.

I squinted at him. "You startle me. Can you make some noise?"
