Catherine's POV
I took a shower, lay down beside Hedwig, closed my eyes, and went to sleep. Actually, I hadn't had those nightmares since I moved into Blake's villa. I didn't know why. But I did know that I was getting better and better. Time flew by, and another day passed. Today was Leo's birthday. It would be rude to show up empty-handed on someone's birthday. So, I decided to let the two kids prepare their gifts for Leo. We were sitting at the dinner table, having breakfast. "Mommy, can you give me some money? I will buy a bunch of flowers for Leo." Hedwig came up with a good idea. Noah mocked, "Leo is a man. Men do not like flowers. Mommy, I want to give Leo a super cool lighter. Is that OK?" "Smoking is harmful to our health. The teacher just taught us yesterday. Noah, do you want Leo to smoke every day?" Hedwig immediately retorted. Blake hurriedly said, "Noah, Hedwig, Leo is rich. He can buy anythCatherine's POV "It's my best work. This is Leo performing on stage. Many people are listening to you singing. You sing so well!" Finally, this Leo was a star. "Really? You haven't heard me sing yet, have you? My singing is awesome. I'll show you next time!" Leo smirked. "This is Leo climbing the mountain and is accidentally blown away by the wind. "This is Leo eating. Well... I don't know how to draw steak, so I drew some circles. Leo, what do you like to eat?" Leo looked desperate. When Hedwig finished introducing her drawings, Leo turned to Noah and said, "Noah, you didn't prepare so many surprises for me, did you?" Noah said proudly, "I'm not like stupid Hedwig! Leo, this is the car model I made for you. These two doors can even be opened!" "Thank you, Noah. I like it very much." Leo was moved. "Leo, what about mine?" Hedwig instantly raised her face, her crystal-like eyes filled with anticipation. "I like b
Catherine's POV I quickly hugged Hedwig and kissed her cheek. "Don't you have daddy with you?" "Daddy is not enough. I want both of you!" Hedwig said greedily. Noah snorted, "Stupid Hedwig. When can you learn to be independent? I've seen you eat every day, but I haven't seen you grow up." I couldn't help but chuckle as I saw Noah tease Hedwig again. Hedwig glared at Noah. "I miss mommy. What's wrong with that?" I turned to Noah and said, "Enough. Stop talking to Hedwig like that. Hedwig was sick the other day, and I wasn't there for her. I'm so sorry." Noah instantly grinned. "Mommy, you have no idea. When the doctor was treating Hedwig, she kept screaming, 'Daddy, it hurts!' She screamed so loudly!" I looked at Hedwig's face, which was still a bit pale, and my heart ached. "Mommy!" Hedwig immediately leaned into my arms. "Mommy, when you are done with your work, you have to accompany me more, OK?" I nodded. "Do
Catherine's POV I spent some time with the two kids for a while. Then I put Hedwig to sleep and went to take a bath. When I got out of the shower, I heard the sound of a car in the garden, and I knew it was Blake. I put on my pajamas and left the room to look for him. The moment I went to the balcony, I saw him standing there alone. With a cigarette in his hand, he seemed worried. I looked at the cigarette in his hand and asked, "Why are you still smoking this late at night? Is something bothering you?" There was a smile in his voice. "Do you care about me?" I was a little helpless. I said, "Yes. What happened to you?" "Nothing. I was just thinking about work." As he spoke, he pressed the cigarette against an ashtray aside. Since it was about work, my hands were tied, though I wanted to help him. "It's late. Go to bed!" I didn't know what else to say. "Cathy!" Blake suddenly stopped me. "Yeah?" I stopped
Catherine's POV After Emily left, I felt so upset that I suddenly didn't want to do anything. "Catherine, you're here! I've been looking for you everywhere. A lot of things are pending your supervision. Hurry!" When Melinda's assistant saw me, she was greatly relieved. I pulled myself together. I shouldn't waste my time thinking about Blake. I had to do my job. It was all I had. I had the urge to call Blake and confront him. But I didn't want to lose my self-esteem like this. I did not dare to question him, but I could avoid him. Yet I was obviously absent-minded for the following work. Melinda came over and asked me, "Cathy, what's wrong? You don't look well. Are you sick?" I quickly cheered myself up and said, "No. I'm just a little tired." "Why don't you go to the lounge next door and get some rest? I'll help you keep an eye on here." Melinda said with concern. I looked at Melinda with gratitude and said, "Tha
Catherine's POV The next day was the launch organized by the Chavez Group. It was a big event for showbiz. As the person in charge of the launch, I came to the venue early in the morning. Right now, in the main venue, the lights were bright, and there were countless celebrities. The reporters stood in a long line, and the line extended tens of meters from the entrance of the hall to the outside. The flashing lights kept exploding. One star after another walked across the red carpet toward the main venue. In front of the signature wall, the female stars competed with each other, showing their styles, which caused the reporters to be so excited. They kept pressing the shutters of their cameras. "Gina is here!" "Is it true that she is going to sing a love song with Leo this time? If so, it'll be something to behold." I heard the discussion and felt that it was what Gina wanted. Shortly after, Gina appeared on the red carpe
Catherine's POV "Catherine, stop standing there. Go out and see Hedwig and Noah," Melinda said. "Not now. I still have work to do." I didn't know how to face Blake. I chose to avoid him. "I'll help you with the rest. Catherine, get out of here. Go!" Melinda pushed me, and I went outside the curtains. Melinda smiled and said, "Catherine, they're so cute. They look like a princess and a prince." I looked at the man sitting in the front row stiffly. His temperament was extremely noble. He held Hedwig in his arms. Hedwig was dressed very beautifully by him. She was just like a princess. Noah sat beside Blake. Noah was still a kid, but he was intimidating enough. He was wearing a plaid suit with a golden vest underneath, and he had Blake's hair cut. I was so nervous that my palms were sweating. Shall I go over to them? Just as I was feeling uneasy, I suddenly heard a sweet and happy voice, shouting, "Mommy... Mommy, you're
Catherine's POV "Am I supposed to believe what you say? How do I know it's true?" My voice trembled, and it was no longer as imposing as it had been before. Ever since I met Emily, I felt that I had been thrown into a deep vortex. I had lost my reason, and my mind was completely blank. I had never thought of doubting Emily. Perhaps her tone was so positive that one had to believe her. But right now, Blake's tone was even more certain and convincing than Emily's. "How do I prove it? How about this?" As Blake spoke, he suddenly kissed me. His kiss was passionate, ruthless, and somehow punitive. He kissed my lips hard. I couldn't even make a sound, let alone talk back to him. After Blake let go of me, he stared at me and said, "Cathy, don't you ever believe in others' words readily again!" Then he got out of the car. I sat dumbstruck in the car, unable to recover for a long time. He dared to threaten me?! I was stu
Catherine's POV Meanwhile, Leo ran in and said angrily, "Jessica, what the hell? You fell on stage! Did you fall on purpose?" I stood up and explained, "Of course, she didn't. Stop blaming her." "Then why? You didn't have breakfast, and your legs went weak?" asked Leo, frowning. "Leo, don't yell at her. She did her best. Leave her alone for a while." I quickly pushed Leo away. But Jessica stood up suddenly. She pointed to Leo and shouted, "It's all you. Why do you have to drag me into every hype? You are my boss, that's true, but can you find a woman you like to hype up? Stop using me as your rumored girlfriend every time. Do you know why I still can't find a boyfriend? It's because of you." Leo pulled a long face. "Jessica, do you remember who you are talking to?" They quarreled. Seeing that, I quickly said, "Enough. Leo, stop arguing with her. She's very upset already. Just leave for now, OK?" "I know you're my boss.
Third Person's POVWhen Richard saw that Blake didn't want to bring up the past, he was slightly surprised. He had expected Blake to revisit old grievances and hold him accountable.Emerson, with a look of relief, praised Blake. "Blake, you have a generous heart. Let's not dwell on the past anymore. You are uncle and nephew, and you should support each other, not harbor resentment."Blake, mindful of Emerson's feelings, nodded. "We are family, and we shouldn't treat each other like enemies."Richard, however, felt uneasy. He realized that he was increasingly becoming an outsider in the Royal Pack. The affection and importance that Emerson and Patricia placed on Blake far surpassed what they had for him, their own son.He suspected that even his own son, Nick, might feel that he had lost his place in his grandparents' hearts."Richard, you and Emerson haven't seen each other in so long. You must have a lot to talk about. I'll leave you to it,
Third Person's POVCatherine thought for a moment and replied, "It's like the handsome guys you see in cartoons.""Okay! Can you draw it for me now, Mommy?" Hedwig was a girl of action. Once she got an idea, she had to see it through. It was unclear who she had inherited this trait from.Catherine picked up a blank sheet of paper and a pencil, glancing helplessly at the man beside her, who was smirking. He really knew how to give her extra work.Blake leaned down, his lips brushing her ear as he whispered, "Are you really going to draw me?""Mm-hmm, I'll draw a picture of you taking a shower," Catherine said, her smile tinged with mischief.Blake knew she was teasing him. He raised an eyebrow slightly. "Sure, but if you forget how I look, I can give you a live demonstration tonight."Catherine's face flushed instantly. She glared at him, her eyes narrowing.Meanwhile, Noah, who was practicing his writing nearby, overheard their
Third Person's POV"You and Noah came from my belly, not from a box.""Oh, then who put us in your belly? Was it the 'heaven' you mentioned earlier?" Hedwig asked, her big eyes wide with curiosity.Catherine was genuinely stumped this time. She touched her chin, pretending to think deeply. "Uh, well... you'll understand when you grow up. It's not something we can talk about now."She couldn't possibly say that Blake had "put them there." If she did, Hedwig's next question would undoubtedly be, "How did Daddy put us in your belly?" Catherine's head was already spinning at the thought.Patricia walked in carrying a plate of fruit. When she saw Hedwig's paint-smeared face, she burst out laughing. "Oh my, when did we get a little calico cat in the house?""Great-grandma, where's the cat? Can I see it?" Hedwig asked, her face lighting up at the mention of a cat."The little calico cat is you! Look at your face—it's covered in paint!"
Third Person's POVBlake sneered, his voice laced with sarcasm. "Do you really think someone who could kill his own brother has any conscience left? He's always resented Grandpa for favoring Dad. If he finds out about Grandpa's condition, the first thing he'll do is fight for Grandpa's shares."Leo's expression darkened. He realized he had been naive to think Richard might have a change of heart."Blake, then we absolutely can't let him know about Grandpa's condition. If he finds out, he won't care about Grandpa's life at all!" Leo said, his voice filled with anger."He's arriving tonight. Do you want to come and see him?" Blake asked coldly.Leo shook his head. "I don't want to see him. I'm afraid I might lose control and kill him.""You need to stay calm. He's a dog, but you're not. You don't bite randomly," Blake said, lecturing Leo.Leo knew he wouldn't actually kill anyone, but his temper was fiery. If he saw Richard, he might no
Third Person's POV"I found out not long ago. Before that, I also asked the doctor about Grandpa's condition every day, and he always told me Grandpa was doing well," Blake explained, his voice strained with grief."That quack! How dare he lie to us? Does he think we're fools? He should be ashamed of himself!" Leo shouted, his anger boiling over."Yelling at him won't help. Grandpa and Grandma made this decision together," Blake said calmly."Grandpa is so stubborn. How could he keep something like this from us? Does he want us to feel guilty for the rest of our lives?" Leo's anger shifted to his grandfather."Grandpa just doesn't want us to grieve for him. I think any parent would want to spare their children that pain," Blake said.Leo realized there was no one left to blame. He sighed, his eyes filled with despair. "Then what can we do now? Blake, tell me."Blake looked at him steadily, then sighed. "At least, while Grandpa is stil
Third Person's POVSunny had obtained Olivia's recording, yet she hadn't handed it over to him immediately. She was still protecting Olivia. It seemed that in the face of love and family bonds, there was still a distinction in importance.Clearly, her feelings for him were far less significant than the familial ties she had with Olivia.Or perhaps, there was no comparison to be made at all.Leo's heart was like a chaotic storm, agitated and bewildered, searching for a reason to calm down.Upon reaching the base of the Imperial Building, Leo strode straight in and marched towards Blake's private elevator. As the second son of the Royal Pack, Leo had never concealed his identity. Thus, as he strode through the lobby, he attracted only envious glances from women.Even though Leo's expression was cold, his fervent female fans still pursued him relentlessly.Perhaps it was Leo's taut expression, coupled with the band-aids on his fac
Third Person's POVSunny let out a bitter laugh. "You really think too highly of me. Actually, I've already broken up with him, and I don't plan to be a star anymore. You can go back now.""Sunny, aren't you really considering your future? You're already famous now. Once you become well-known, it's hard to go back to your simple life. No matter where you go, people will pay attention to you. Instead of being ridiculed, why not hold your head high and be your own queen? You have the potential. You're very beautiful!" Melissa kept persuading her.Sunny's mind went blank. Where was her future? She really hadn't thought about it at all.She used to simply want to earn more money to improve her quality of life, travel when she had time, and treat herself to delicious food for her hard work. But now? She didn't dare to think about anything."A single romance has beaten you down like this. You don't seem like the Sunny I know. You used to be so brave and
Third Person's POVAt that moment, Sunny's smile had vanished, as if she had been abandoned by the entire world. The hurt and grievance she had suffered were evident to Moira. The words Leo had spoken in front of the camera were truly devastating.Once, their love had been passionate and fearless, disregarding the opinions and evaluations of others. Now, the abandonment was decisive and ruthless, without any mercy. For a young girl who had not experienced major setbacks, being suddenly forced to break up was something no one could accept."I'll be fine." Sunny whispered."Why don't you move back home? I'll only feel relieved if I can see you," Moira suggested.Sunny shook her head quickly, "No, I won't move back!"Upon hearing this, Moira immediately said, "Is it still about what your stepfather mentioned last time? Don't worry, if he dares to marry you off to someone else, I'll divorce him."Sunny shuddered at the thought of the cond
Emily's face turned pale with fear, and she managed to suppress her curiosity. However, the thought that Blake's father might have been killed by Richard made her realize that everything was far more serious than she had imagined. This was a fight to the death, a gamble with lives at stake, even though there were no visible signs of battle.Emily was filled with regret. She had initially come up with the bad idea to impress and prove herself, but now it felt like she had dropped a stone on her own foot.Sunny had been in a daze at home for almost two days, not eating anything except for a few sips of water. If it weren't for Moira showing up with a bag full of food and snacks, she might have starved herself to death."Look at you! Hiding in the corner, living in a daze. This isn't like my daughter at all," Moira exclaimed as she entered the dimly lit room and quickly pulled open the curtains, letting the bright light stream in.Sunny instinc
