Aiden’s POV

As the soldiers dragged Leah away, an uncontrollable rage burned inside me. My hands clenched into fists at my sides, my nails digging into my palms.

"It all makes sense now," I seethed under my breath. "Everyone knew Amelia was meant to be my mate. But instead, it was that freak. Of course, she tampered with magic. She could never keep her eyes off me anyway."

A low growl echoed in my mind. "Careful, Aiden. The mating process is ancient law. It is not easily manipulated," my wolf cautioned, his tone laced with warning.

"Not easily, no," I muttered. "But there’s little dark magic can’t do."

My feet carried me home, but my mind remained trapped in the turmoil of unanswered questions.

Accusations warred with the uneasy pull of the bond I was determined to reject. I couldn’t accept Leah’s treachery—couldn’t stomach the thought that she had somehow forced this fate upon me.

It was a betrayal. A deception. A crime against the Moon Goddess herself.

And yet…

A part of me hesita

Leah’s POVToday was my birthday, but hey, who’s counting? Oh, right—me. Because for the past seventeen years, I’ve been the family’s go-to servant, and guess what? This year is no different. Leah, wolfless and worthless, still here, serving.I waved the spatula, stirring the stew with a sigh. Outside, the waxing moon hung low in the sky, a pale ghost of itself against the brilliant blue of the summer afternoon. Soon, it would reach its fullness.“Leah!” My father’s voice snapped from just outside the kitchen. “Do you think your birthday gives you the right to laze around? Your guests are waiting, and you’re here daydreaming like some useless dog. Move it!”I clenched my jaw so hard it ached, forcing myself to turn away from the window. “Coming right up!”The moment I stepped into the crowded living room, “Well, well, there’s our birthday girl! Are your parents still keeping you locked in the kitchen, huh? Even today?” A family member asked. I smiled demurely but didn’t respond, foc

I won’t.” His voice was sharp. “Amelia is the one I want. She’s everything you’re not.”I flinched, his words hitting me like a physical blow. “I don’t know what’s happening either,” I whispered, my voice trembling. “Of course you didn’t,” he snapped, his tone dripping with disdain. “Look at you. Do you really think I’d ever choose someone like you? You’re not even a fraction of what Amelia is. This is some cruel joke the Moon Goddess is playing on me.”Aiden’s boots scuffed against the floor as he closed the distance, his shadow swallowing me whole. His breath fanned over my face, warm and sharp, carrying the faint scent of cedar and something wild. My pulse spiked, my throat bobbing as I swallowed hard.“What are you doing?” My voice barely audible, my eyes darting to his.“What’s wrong, Leah?” he murmure

Horror flooded me as I stared at Amelia’s crumpled form. Her once-silver dress was marred by deep crimson where my claws had hit her. The shock brought me back to my senses. Back to myself. My breathing came in ragged gasps as I fell to my knees, trembling. The last remnants of my wolf form melted away. I was human again—weak, vulnerable.I wrapped my arms around my exposed body.“Cover yourself, freak,” Aiden growled, his voice icy. With a swift tug, he pulled down a velvet curtain and threw it over me. I wrapped it around my bare body. But Aiden wasn’t done with me.His strong hands wrapped around my throat, lifting me off the ground so that I was forced to meet his gaze. My father, my mother, Aiden and the healer all stared at me as if I were some kind of demon. And maybe I was. Blood stained my skin, dried in ugly streaks along my arms. The ripped curtain clung to my body like the rags of a ghost. My one red eye glowed eerily in the dim light.“No way.” Aiden’s voice was firm and final. His arms crossed over his broad chest, his amber eyes smoldering with anger. “We can’t put her life in your hands. You’re the one who nearly took it.”I flinched, but I didn’t back down. “That’s exactly why it must be me,” I countered, stepping forward. “I have to make this right.”“Go.”My father’s voice was sharp as a blade, cutting through any remaining discussion. “I don’t want to have to look at your disgusting face until you have Amelia’s cure.”I swallowed the lump in my throat, willing myself not to react. My mother sat at Amelia’s s

His stance was powerful, unwavering. His presence alone commanded silence. His sharp, weathered eyes bore into Aiden.“Father? Leah’s POV“I’m innocent! Let me go!” I cried out, my voice raw with desperation as rough hands dragged me through the heart of the village. My feet faltered over the uneven ground, the hem of my Luna dress dragging through the dirt, growing filthier with every step. My body jerked forward with each merciless pull. The werewolves who had just celebrated my coronation stood frozen, their gazes locked onto the shocking scene before them. I saw the disbelief in their eyes, the hushed whispers spreading like wildfire through the crowd. Their newly crowned Luna—paraded through the town in shackles.A deep, furious growl rumbled inside me. “They will regret this,” my wolf snarled, her rage barely contained. The soldiers said nothing, their grip unwavering. But I could feel the tension in the air. They weren’t unaffected. One of them hesitated before speaking in a voice laced with guilt.“Luna,” he murmured, glancing at me from the corner of his eye. “We’re just following orders. Please u

Leah’s POVI shook my head, my fingers tightening around the book in my grasp. My pulse hammered against my skin, my body thrumming with an energy I didn’t understand. The weight of the lunar crown on my head and the ancient book in my hands sent a strange pulse of power rippling through me. As if the two artifacts recognized each other, weaving their power together in ways I couldn’t yet comprehend.“I—I don’t know,” I stammered. My voice was raw with the weight of unspoken words. With all the pent up feelings from the past few days. My throat tightened as I forced myself to meet Aiden’s gaze. But he didn’t see confusion in my expression—he saw guilt.“You don’t know, huh?” His voice was sharp as a blade, slicing through the tension-laden air. His amber eyes darkened, scrutinizing me with suspicion so thick it was suffocating. “I don’t believe you, Leah.”His grip on my chin tightened for a moment before he shoved away from me like I had scorched him. He began pacing, his body tens

  • My Mate Can’t Forgive Me for My Sister   Chapter 15 - Crown the Luna

Leah’s POVNot now, wolf. I couldn't afford to shift in public again—let alone attack the future Alpha. Taking a deep breath, I forced myself to steady my nerves. After what felt like an eternity of his defiant silence, Aiden’s voice finally rang sharp through the grand hall. “The ceremony is concluded. There’s nothing else to say.”That was it. No speech, no acknowledgment, not even the barest attempt at pretense. Just those cold, clipped words that made it clear he was done playing along. The room fell into an uneasy silence, only broken by the whisper of shifting feet and the murmurs of those in attendance. I glanced at Alpha Mason and Luna Ashley. Their smiles remained, but their eyes were frigid. Ashley’s lips twitched slightly, as if to suppress her disappointment, while Mason looked at his son with barely veiled contempt.Aiden, however, was unfazed. With a flicker of something unreadable—resentment, anger, defiance—he finally lifted the crown and placed it atop my head. The

Leah’s POV“What kind of book?” Aiden asked in a hushed, clipped tone. His beta glanced around before leaning in slightly, his voice careful. “We’re not sure, Alpha. When we tried to approach it, something—some force—repelled us. It was like… an invisible wall, pushing us away. None of us could get close.”Aiden’s eyes darkened with suspicion, his head tilting slightly as if trying to process this new mystery. His jaw ticked, and I could almost see the gears turning in his mind.A cold tendril of dread slithered through me, twisting around my ribs. A force? What force? I hadn’t been repelled by the book when I touched it.“No time to dwell on it now,” a voice whispered through my consciousness.I stiffened. My wolf.“Go on, Leah. Go claim that crown you deserve.” There was something proud in her voice. Something that made my spine straighten on instinct.Taking a deep breath, I forced the tension from my shoulders, smoothing down the jeweled gown cascading around me. My fingers trembl

Leah’s POVI stayed in Aiden’s room for most of the day, wondering if he would come back. He didn’t.As the hours dragged on, my stomach twisted with hunger. But a deeper emptiness gnawed at me. My body still tingled from last night, yet Aiden had left without a word. By noon, my hunger overpowered my pride, and I awkwardly made my way downstairs, my bare feet silent against the cold marble floors. The grand dining room was luxurious, its chandeliers glimmering in the daylight. At the long table, Luna Ashley sat gracefully, her golden eyes lifting to meet mine. Aiden had inherited most of his father’s features—his dark hair, his sharp jaw—but those amber eyes? They were hers. She smiled, a touch of warmth in her gaze. “Hello, dear. You must be starving.”A soft chuckle escaped me. “You read my mind.”She gestured to a nearby maid. “Alice, please prepare a meal for Leah.”The maid, a petite girl with gentle features, curtsied. “Of course, Luna.”As Alice hurried off, Ashley folded he

Aiden’s POVI stormed out of my bedroom, still panting. My skin was damp with sweat, my pulse erratic.“What the hell is wrong with me?” I muttered under my breath. The moment my body separated from Leah’s, a surge of conflicting emotions had hit me like a tidal wave. Hatred, fury, shame. And instead of the usual release that came with satisfying my desires, an insatiable, intoxicating hunger had taken hold of me—demanding more, refusing to be quenched.I clenched my fists, digging my fingernails into my palm. As if physical pain could drown out the memory of her body beneath mine. Her scent was laced with an intoxicating sweetness that had ensnared me in ways I despised. My attempts to erase her scent had been utterly futile. The moment her legs parted beneath me, the warmth of her body beckoning me in, it had surged back—stronger, more intoxicating than before. It was maddening. No amount of cold water, herbs or stubborn resistance could drown out the way she smelled, the way she f
