Aiden’s POV

“Aiden, I—” Leah’s voice was barely a whisper, her hesitance thick in the air between us.

“Take them off,” I repeated, my tone as cold and unyielding as iron. “Now.”

Her hands trembled as they reached for the buttons of her dress. Her mismatched eyes—those unnatural, haunting eyes—watched me warily, filled with unease. Yet she obeyed.

One by one, the buttons came undone. Her breathing sped up with every inch of skin exposed.

The fabric slipped from her shoulders and pooled at her feet, revealing delicate white lace underneath. The sight should have meant nothing to me. Just bare skin, just another body. And yet—

Her scent hit me like a drug.

Jasmine. Honey. A hint of citrus. But beneath it all, something deeper. Something so primal, so irresistible.

It twisted through me like smoke, curling around my instincts, clouding my reason. It made my pulse quicken against my will, a familiar warmth pooling in my low abdomen.

I gritted my teeth.

No.

Leah’s POVThe icy water crashed over me like a relentless storm, stealing the breath from my lungs. My body trembled violently. But I clenched my teeth to keep my whimpers trapped behind my lips. I wouldn’t give Aiden the satisfaction. I wouldn’t let him see how much I was breaking. But Goddess, I was freezing. The cold seeped into my bones, making my limbs sluggish, my fingers numb. My dark hair clung to my skin in soaked tangles, and every inch of me shivered under the punishing cascade.“It’s still too strong,” Aiden muttered, his low voice barely audible over the streaming water. He stood just outside the shower, his broad frame shadowed against the dim light, watching me as if I were some weak, pathetic thing. His golden eyes gleamed with something cruel and dangerous. He reached into a pouch at his side and pulled out a handful of crushed herbs. The pungent scent filled the steam-laden air as he tossed them carelessly at me.“Rub these over yourself,” he ordered, his voice de

Leah’s POVI stayed in Aiden’s room for most of the day, wondering if he would come back. He didn’t.As the hours dragged on, my stomach twisted with hunger. But a deeper emptiness gnawed at me. My body still tingled from last night, yet Aiden had left without a word. By noon, my hunger overpowered my pride, and I awkwardly made my way downstairs, my bare feet silent against the cold marble floors. The grand dining room was luxurious, its chandeliers glimmering in the daylight. At the long table, Luna Ashley sat gracefully, her golden eyes lifting to meet mine. Aiden had inherited most of his father’s features—his dark hair, his sharp jaw—but those amber eyes? They were hers. She smiled, a touch of warmth in her gaze. “Hello, dear. You must be starving.”A soft chuckle escaped me. “You read my mind.”She gestured to a nearby maid. “Alice, please prepare a meal for Leah.”The maid, a petite girl with gentle features, curtsied. “Of course, Luna.”As Alice hurried off, Ashley folded he

Taking a deep breath, I forced myself to steady my nerves. After what felt like an eternity of his defiant silence, Aiden’s voice finally rang sharp through the grand hall. “The ceremony is concluded. There’s nothing else to say.”That was it. No speech, no acknowledgment, not even the barest attempt at pretense. Just those cold, clipped words that made it clear he was done playing along. The room fell into an uneasy silence, only broken by the whisper of shifting feet and the murmurs of those in attendance. I glanced at Alpha Mason and Luna Ashley. Their smiles remained, but their eyes were frigid. My arms trembled under the weight of my restraints as I was dragged through the village square. “Please, Goddess, don’t let them do this to me,” I whispered, looking up at the silent moon above. The scent of damp earth and burning torches filled the air, mixing with the sharp metallic tang of my own blood. Every step felt heavier. The weight of my impending death pressed against my chest like a silver vice.A murmur rippled through the gathered crowd, their whispers slithering like vipers in my ears. Traitor. Murderer. Witch. They had decided my fate long before the trial. The verdict was merely a formality.Suddenly, a voice I hadn't expected shattered the suffocating silence. "Please, spare her!" My father, Robert, stumbled forward, his face pale with desperation. His eyes were pleading as they darted between the guards and Alpha Mason. "I've already lost one daughter—

My breath came in shallow, measured gasps as I clutched the book tighter against my chest. Every step forward felt like a battle against fate itself. But I refused to stop. I had no choice—I had to leave this place. The village streets were eerily quiet, save for the distant murmurs of guards patrolling in search of me. I kept my head low, moving swiftly yet cautiously, my heart pounding violently against my ribs.“Just a little farther,” my wolf whispered. The gates loomed ahead, a beacon of freedom. But as I stepped out of the shadows, a familiar, cold voice rang through the night.“There! It’s her! Arrest her!”I turned on instinct.
