I turn from the window at the sound of the door unlocking and two sets of heavy footsteps entering the chambers. I watch as two large male vampires enter and stop just inside the bedroom door, the slightly smaller one out of the two steps a little closer and holds something out toward me and says,

“John said to put this on and then accompany us down to the centre of town.”

I raise my eyebrows at him and say, “Do I get a say in this?”

“No… If you don’t put it on yourself then I get the honours of putting it on you and if you refuse to come down into the town, my friend here has the honours of picking you up, throwing you over his shoulder and carrying you down.”

“So you're saying that I don’t have a choice?”

“Yep. Now take this and put it on.”

I reluctantly step closer and take what he is holding out to me with one hand. I then use the other hand to hold it up and see what it is. I am surprised when I notice that it is similar to the cloak that I had on earlier. I want to argue, b
