Andrew’s Point of View

Andrew made his way to his office where two men were waiting for him. Upon entering the men made their way to their feet and straightened their jackets.

One of the men reached out his hand to shake Andrew’s, “Andrew nice to see you again, and thank you once again for meeting us. By the way, this is my son, Carlo.” Andrew shook his hand and greeted his son also with a handshake.

Andrew then nodded before speaking, “Gentlemen, welcome. It is my pleasure.” Andrew greeted then made his way around his table and sat down, then gestured the two men to sit as well. “For what do I owe for this lovely meeting?”

“Well, we here to submit a proposal.” The older man said while he crossed his left leg over his right.

“A proposal? What kind of proposal, John?” Andrew asked with concern, while he sat straight in his chair.

“A proposal for us to join forces. You and I both know that this would be the best decision going forward.” John said, then he placed his hands on his knees.

“John, we had this discussion a few months back. My answer is still the same.” Andrew said leaning back in his chair.

“Andrew, son please reconsider…” Before John could continue speaking Andrew interrupted him.

“As I had said months back, I am not interested in your proposal. This is my family; I am not going to bring in another set of family.” Andrew said with annoyance.

Chris jumped up and slammed his hands on Andrew’s desk, “Just take my father up on his proposal, he knows much more than…” Andrew just looked at him calmly, then John jumped in.

“Sit the fuck down!” John ordered his son.

“But father, this man clearly doesn’t know what he is…” Chris continued before Andrew took over the conversation.

“Better listen to your father. Like you said he knows much more than me.” Andrew said calmly, leaning back in his chair. “If you can’t control your son, I think it is best that you see yourself out.” He started to make his way to his feet, then John lifted his hand in the air making Andrew freeze in his motion.

“Chris, sit down now,” John said calmly, then Chris did as he was told. “Good, keep your mouth shut.” He looked at his son. Chris nodded in agreement.

“Should we continue or are we going to have any more interruptions?” Andrew asked with a slight smile.

“I apologize for my son’s behavior; thought I raised him better than that,” John said as he gave his son a glare.

“Me too John. You’re a respected man, but your own son doesn’t even respect you. Pity.” Andrew said tilting his head slightly to the right.

“Stay down,” John said glaring at his son once again. “Can we return to business?” John asked before taking a big breath.

“No, I believe we’re done here. And you have your son to thank.” Andrew stretched out his hand and pointed to Chris, with a sarcastic smile.

“Andrew, come on…” John said then Andrew interrupted him.

“Thank you, you can leave now I have work to do,” Andrew said then directed his attention to the papers on his desk.

“Chris let's go,” John ordered his son while making his way to his feet.

Chris followed his father; he turned around and looked at Andrew. Andrew looked up before Chris spoke, “You’ll regret this one day.”

“I bet I will,” Andrew said with sarcasm. Soon after they left Andrew fell back into his chair and let out a loud sigh.

Andrew wasn’t in the mood anymore to continue working. He turned his chair around and stared out of the window. He bites his bottom lip, tapping his right foot.

“Arrogant piece of shit.” He whispered to himself.

The office doors opened then Andrew sighed. “What? I’m not in the mood for anyone at this moment.”

“Is that the way to speak to your Grand Mommy?” She said with a shivering tone.

“Sorry Grams. Just had a rough day. How are you doing?” He asked with a true smile on his face.

“I am doing fine my nugget. Just a tad tired that’s all.” She said while walking slowly towards Andrew’s desk.

Andrew jumped out of his chair to help his grandma walk. “Grandma, why are you out of bed anyway?”

“I needed to get some fresh air. I was sick and tired of my bed.” She said shaking.

“Grams, please can you go back to your room? I don’t want you falling and maybe breaking something.” Andrew said with a concerning tone.

“Oh fine. I will go back. But it wouldn’t hurt you to come and chat with me once and a while.” She said, before sticking out her tongue.

Andrew laughed, “Fine Grams, I will come once or twice a day, how does that sound?”

“Splendid.” She replied, smiling.

“Please take her to her room,” Andrew ordered one of the men to escort her. The man nodded and walked with his grandma.

“I’m sorry Sir.” The other man standing guard said.

“Luckily she still remembers me,” Andrew said with sorrow.

Andrew looked at his grandma as she walked away, sadness started to fill his heart. Losing both his parents a few years back and was put in charge of running their entire organization. His grandma is all he has left, and he won’t hesitate to kill anyone who tries to hurt her.

He was still young when his parents died. Years ago, there was a hit put on his family. A hit that was supposed to have them all killed. He made it out, but unfortunately for his parents, they were shot with a machine gun. Multiple bullet wounds made them bleed out in an instant.

Luckily not their entire organization was killed. Most of them survived. Everyone had moved on from that disaster. But for Andrew, he would always live with the memory of his parents lying lifeless in his office, the office that was once his father's. Andrew could have chosen a different office in their house, but he stuck with this one. The office reminds him every day why he is doing this.

Andrew knew that he had to do everything in his power to keep his family safe. Even if it means that he could get killed at any moment in time.

Andrew walked towards the bookshelf where a photo frame was placed facing the wrong way. He always does this when he has guests. He picked up the frame and turned it around and stared at the picture.

His parents.

“One day I will make you proud. One day this empire will rule New York. Every single piece of it, and your killer brought to face justice.” He said to the photo frame. He kissed his index and middle finger and placed it on the photo. “To family.”
