View MoreWatching Lilith plead for her life was like witnessing a dark and twisted spectacle. It sent a wave of excitement coursing through my veins. Why hadn't I done this sooner?
"Please, spare me. I'll give you anything your heart desires. Just name it, and it's yours."
I pondered her desperate offer, savoring the power that lay in my hands.
"Anything?" I inquired with a twisted grin.
Her eyes lit up with hope, unknowingly sealing her fate.
"How about your own life? It's the one thing I crave above all else. It's the ultimate prize."
Her voice wavered as she tried to find the right words. Snot dripped from her nose, and her bloodshot eyes begged for reprieve. But I wasn't one to show mercy. Contrary to popular belief, I wasn't soft-hearted.
Since Lilith refused to surrender her life willingly, I decided to take matters into my own hands...literally.
"No, no, please! I'll do anything you ask, anything you demand!" she pleaded, desperation thick in her voice.
"You see, my dear, the irony is that I will do exactly that. I'll take what I want."
But before she could utter another word, the sound of a gunshot echoed through the room. Her lifeless body crumpled to the ground, crimson staining the floor.
Turning my attention to the rest of the onlookers, I couldn't help but revel in their horror. Their thoughts were written boldly on their faces, as if they were transparent to me.
"Monster."
"We need to get out of here, now!"
"She's completely deranged."
Ah, how amusing it was to hear their hushed whispers. I locked eyes with the one who had dared to call me crazy. Raising an eyebrow, I aimed my dagger at his throat and let it fly. Bullseye.
It thrilled me to my core, realizing just how much I enjoyed this newfound power. The rush of taking lives, one after another.
"Hehe," I chuckled, intoxicated by the chaos. "That was only the beginning. Who's next, I wonder?"

Where was I? The room was cold and sterile, illuminated by blinding white lights. I could hear hushed voices and murmurs in the distance. Confusion clouded my mind as I tried to make sense of my surroundings.
“You have to go Reina. I can't stay anymore,” a familiar voice echoed in my ears.
Ashlyn. What was she doing here? Why was she telling me to go? I felt even more bewildered as she retreated into the whiteness, leaving me with even more unanswered questions.
“Ashlynnn.”

Slowly, I forced my eyes open, immediately wincing as the bright lights assaulted my senses. Blinking away the haze, I realized I was in a hospital room. Panic and frustration surged through me. What had that bitch gotten herself into now? And why on earth was I in a hospital?
“She's dead,” a voice whispered.
“Poor thing. Being married to The Devil probably made her kill herself,” another voice chimed in.
Kill herself? What the fuck? I would never do something so stupid. Only Ashlyn would... Oh shit! What has she done? I was always the one in control, immune to poison. Ashlyn rarely let me take over for extended periods of time, but now... I felt a newfound stability and control.
With my eyes still closed, I relied on my other senses to assess the situation.
“Wheel her to the morgue. A hearse will be sent soon,” someone ordered.
“Tsk, tsk poor girl,” another person lamented.
What the hell? They were planning to keep a living person with the dead? That was just fucking creepy. I needed to put an end to this insanity.
Summoning my strength, I forced my eyes open and whispered in a barely audible voice, “Water.”
The doctors who had been observing me froze in shock, until I weakly raised my arm and tugged on one of their sleeves.
“Wate... r,” I managed to croak out.
“She's awake!” one of the doctors exclaimed, clearly taken aback.
“You've got to be kidding! She's dead! We even detached the life support machine!”
Thirst now taking over, I tugged harder on the doctor's clothes, desperate for water. What the hell was wrong with these people? Had they never seen a person who was pronounced dead come back to life? Sheesh.
“She said something. I didn't hear properly,” another doctor said.
This was becoming tiresome.
“Water, please,” I repeated, my voice growing more insistent.
“She wants water!” the doctor shouted.
Finally, someone rushed over and held a cup of warm water to my lips. I sighed inwardly, wishing I had asked for it cold. But beggars can't be choosers.
“Thank you,” I managed to say, surprising the doctors with my gratitude. What was with these people?
One of the doctors held out their fingers and asked, “How many fingers am I holding up, ma'am?”
“Five of them,” I replied without missing a beat.
“It seems the poison didn't do any damage. Eye coordination and speech are intact. What's your name, ma'am?” the doctor inquired.
These people had no idea who I really was...
“Mrs. Ashlyn Alexander,” I coolly replied.
“Memory intact as well,” the doctor noted.
Another doctor stepped forward and asked, “Do you know me, ma'am?”
I stared at her face and smiled to myself . This lady was Ashlyn's only friend and she worked in this hospital.
“Hey, Isabella.”
Isabella gasped, covering her mouth as tears welled up in her eyes. Clearly, she was eternally grateful.
“I'm feeling a bit tired. What happened to me? Why am I in the hospital?” I questioned.
“Um...” Isabella hesitated, clearly unsure how to answer.
I almost chuckled at the doctor's hesitance and reluctance. Of course I knew what had happened to Ashlyn's body. She had been poisoned, but luckily, she had allowed me to take over. I was immune to poison, which worked in both our favors. Poor girl had suffered enough.
“You ingested something poisonous, Miss Ashlyn. That's why you are here. You were pronounced dead minutes ago. It's nothing short of a miracle that you're alive,” the doctor finally responded.
“Dead? Pfft, you know I'm not that easy to bring down... Izzy,” I scoffed.
Isabella paused, comprehending the situation. She now understood that it wasn't Ashlyn who was here, but me. Her alter ego had taken the reins.
“Well, I feel fine now, so... Am I going to be discharged or what?” I asked, nonchalantly.
“Oh yes, but we would really like to keep you here for observation and more tests,” the doctor insisted.
“Excuse me?” I raised an eyebrow.
“For observation reasons and tests. We want to make sure you're truly alright,” the doctor explained.
“Well, I do feel fine, and you can monitor me from home. Just assign Izzy to check in on me once in a while,” I suggested, not wanting to stay a moment longer in this damn hospital.
“Are you sure you aren't feeling dizzy or disoriented? Please, you have to make sure,” the doctor pressed.
“No and no. The only thing I'm feeling now is exhausted and uncomfortable here. I don't like hospitals.”
“Alright, we'll make some calls. You'll be picked up soon. Rest here for a while,” the doctor conceded.
“Thank you so much,” I replied with a genuine smile.
As the doctors made their exit, Isabella spoke up.
“I'd like to stay and monitor the patient,” she asserted.
“Alright, Doctor Isabella. Please report if you notice any strange symptoms,” the doctor instructed.
“Of course, Doctor Erin,” Isabella replied.
Once alone, Isabella turned her attention to me.
“Is it really you?” she questioned.
I smiled warmly. Isabella was one of the few people who knew about my condition. I was Ashlyn's alter ego, living within her. I rarely surfaced, only emerging in dire circumstances, and I never stayed for long. But for Ashlyn to relinquish control for this long, it seemed that I would be staying put for quite some time.
“Yes, Isabella. It's me, Reina,” I confirmed.
She sobbed and hugged me tightly, overwhelmed with emotion. Isabella was a soft-hearted soul, someone who both Ashlyn and I cherished. She stood by our side even when Ashlyn was diagnosed with dissociative identity disorder. Isabella was the best thing to happen to Ashlyn.
“It's so good to see you.”
Isabella's eyes sparkled with anticipation. She knew, just as I did, that I had returned with a vengeance. Ashlyn had left a mess behind, and it was my duty to clean it up. But I wouldn't stop there. Oh no, I had something grand in mind.
“Welcome back Reina. Can't wait to see the hell you unleash this time,” Isabella exclaimed, a mischievous grin spreading across her face.
I chuckled softly, the fire of determination burning within me. "You just sit back and enjoy the show, hun. You're going to love every second of it."
"Lana, please calm down," I begged, growing tired of her restless pacing and nail-biting.She remained silent, continuing to walk back and forth across the room, consumed by her anxiety. I couldn't bear it any longer."Lana! Just stop!" I exploded, my frustration boiling over. Enough was enough. Big sis Reina had already made her feelings clear. How could Lana not understand?"She knows, Amber! I only wanted to protect her and keep her close to me," Lana finally confessed, her voice trembling. I grabbed her by the shoulders, shaking her violently, desperate for her to snap out of it."Listen, Lana. Big sis Reina doesn't want you as a lover. She sees you as a sister and she needs a sister who will be there for her whenever she needs support. You can fulfill that role, but being her romantic partner just isn't realistic," I explained firmly."But why can't I be both, Amber? After waiting all these years, why does she choose Axel and ignore my love? It's not fair!" Lana protested bitterl
My heart sank as I pondered how to explain this to Axel. What on earth could I say to cover up this stab wound?“Ashlyn!”I took a deep breath, trying to collect my thoughts. "Hold your horses, Axel, and yes, this is indeed a stab injury."His eyes widened in shock. "How did this happen?"Deciding it was best to be honest, at least to some extent, I began to explain. "It was in Country X. Father had Amber and Kyle to keep himself entertained. I had to rescue them before anything catastrophic occurred."He leaned in, intrigued. "By 'catastrophic,' do you mean...?""Before he killed them or...well, had them mutilated. Father has a variety of sick hobbies, and his favorite pastime is inflicting pain on his own children.""Please, go on," Axel urged, a mix of concern and curiosity evident in his voice.I winced in pain as Axel continued to clean my wound, causing him to ease up and show a tinge of gentleness. "After retrieving Amber and Kyle, father insisted on inviting us to dinner. And
I could feel the rumble in Axel's chest, a deep and hearty chuckle that reverberated through his body. His laughter was infectious, and I couldn't help but be drawn into the amusing scene that was unfolding right in front of me."Are you okay, Ashlyn?" Axel's concerned voice broke through his laughter, and I couldn't help but be amazed at his acting skills. If only he had pursued a career in entertainment, he would have been a star."What in the world are you doing, Axel? Put that woman down right now," Lilith demanded, her frustration evident in her voice."Shut the fuck up, Lilith. And what are you doing here anyway? Did I invite you over?" Axel retorted, his tone sharp and dismissive."N... no, but we had plans for today. We made the reservation over a month ago," She stammered, feeling a sense of disappointment welling up inside her and displaying itself all over her face."I remember canceling that. Didn't the restaurant inform you? I even asked Liam to let you know that I wouldn
"I pay him more than enough for all the stress he goes through," Axel stated with a sigh and a feeling of sympathy rose in my chest.Axel's secretary , Liam, looked worn down and exhausted as he tirelessly worked to handle the burdens of his job. "Still, poor Liam," I thought to myself, feeling a pang of guilt.Unable to withstand the tension any longer, Axel decided to confront the situation head-on. "Are we going to keep dancing around the main question here, or are you finally going to give me the answer?" he asked, his voice filled with impatience.I smirked mischievously, apparently finding his frustration amusing. "Dancing seems fun. How about we waltz?" I jokingly replied. He scowled at my attempt to lighten the mood. "Not funny, Ashlyn . What. The. Fuck. Happened?" He demanded, my voice laced with anger.I held up my hand, gesturing for him to calm down. "No need to emphasize every word, Axel. I'll tell you, alright? But first, could you get me my phone? I should be getting a c
"Pfft. You silly little thing," I scoffed, unable to hide my amusement. "I could never hate you, man. You're my brother and favorite person right after Reina."The room was heavy with tension as everyone turned to look at me. "Ok, ok, ok! No one is going all soft and emotional here," I proclaimed, trying to diffuse the seriousness. "I can't stand those. Lana? Do you have something to say to these two?"Lana hesitated for a moment before she mustered up the courage to speak. "I--I'm so sorry for jumping to conclusions without asking you what was going on first, Amber," she admitted, her voice filled with remorse. "On the other hand, I'm not sorry for hitting you, Kyle. You should have controlled yourself more.""Lana!" Reina interjected, her face filled with anger. "You broke his teeth and gave him two black eyes. He deserves that apology.""Fine!" Lana responded, her irritation evident in her voice. "Sheesh, Reina. I don't know why you're standing with him in this case, but I guess I'l
Reina's icy demeanor held the room captive, transfixed by her growing aura of intensity. Everyone couldn't help but be drawn to her. "Bi–big sis?" "Rei? I understand you're angry, but please, gather yourself... Your presence is frightening everyone here." "Kyle, get away from Amber this instant, and Amber, come sit next to me." Amber hesitated, hardly recognizing the person before her as her sister. "Amber!" "O-okay." "Good. Now, Kyle, can you explain exactly what happened?" Kyle nervously glanced at the women in the room until he was interrupted by a stranger's voice. "Kyle beat Amber mercilessly and raped her. All under the orders of Maximus Don." Shocked, everyone turned to face the stranger, her words hanging in the air. "And who might you be to accuse my brother of such a horrendous act?" "Oh, excuse me, my name is Donna, ma'am." "Ah, so you're Kyle's ex, I presume?" "Yes, and I sincerely apologize for everything you all went through. It was entirely my fault." "Is
“What expression?” I inquired, curiosity piqued.Axel promptly rose from his seat at the table, a mischievous grin playing on his lips.“I'll tell you someday, my love. But right now, I'm afraid I must rush off to a meeting or risk being embarrassingly late.”I scoffed, knowing well that Axel despised tardiness. “Oh please, you could never be late. It's simply not in your nature.”A smirk danced across his face. “Ah, but you see, my darling, I intentionally delayed to spend a few precious moments with you.”My eyebrows furrowed in confusion. “Pardon me? What was that? Have you gone all Shakespeare on me? He leaned closer, planting a tender kiss upon my hair before exiting the dining room. I remained seated, stunned by his words, struggling to process the unexpected encounter. It was then that I noticed Tina and Amber exchanging gleeful looks. What on earth were they so delighted about?"Reina, I believe you require a mirror," Tina teased, snapping me out of my embarrassed stupor. The
"Well, that was... Something," Amber said with a hint of sarcasm in her voice."Spill it, Amber," I demanded, rolling my eyes. "Okay, was it just me or did one of the most feared girls in the Organization just declare peace with her so-called 'biggest enemy'?" Amber questioned."First things first, Axel is anything but my biggest enemy. He's more like a minor annoyance that I unfortunately have to deal with, and trust me, I really need that bastard," I explained."Mhm," Amber replied, clearly amused by my choice of words.I noticed her phone buzzing incessantly and pointed it out to her. "Your phone has been going off since we left the dining room. Aren't you going to answer that?""Oh yeah, it's Lana," Amber remembered. "Pick up, you silly thing," I encouraged her.Amber pressed the speakerphone button as she answered Lana's call. "Hey big sis. What's up?""Hey baby girl. I tried calling Rei but couldn't reach her, so I had to bother you.""No probs. She's here with me, so you can s
I couldn't believe my eyes as I observed this eccentric woman going out of her way to save some random stranger, all with the sole intention of getting under my skin. "Fine, I'll give her to you," I finally conceded, unable to resist her antics any longer. Her initial amusement quickly transformed into surprise upon hearing my unexpected response. "Really?! Wait... What do you want in return?" she questioned, suspicion evident in her eyes."Nothing," I assured her, hoping to alleviate her doubts. She shook her head, a look of disbelief on her face. "Axel... I refuse," she stated firmly."And why is that?" I inquired, genuinely curious about her reasoning."You want to have sex with me, don't you?" she bluntly asked, catching me off guard with her boldness.I hesitated for a moment, caught between the truth and the desire to maintain some sense of decorum. "While I must admit that I do enjoy being intimate with Lilith, engaging in a sexual encounter with you would undoubtedly be equal
