“This makes absolutely no sense,” I muttered. Anyone else could have the same shoes, but thinking of motive, Trisha has a motive.

She probably hates me and hates that I’m happy. But, how did you get inside the restaurant? How did she have access to the keys?

I needed to have more information before telling Randall about what I found. So, I called Carl.

“Carl,” I called as soon as he answered the phone.

“Daci. I thought Randall would have deleted my phone number from your phone after last night.” He answered, and I chuckled.

“It’s not that bad, okay? And thank you for yesterday.”

“It’s okay. I saw your story. Congratulations. I guess he wasn’t too busy for you after all.”

“He was busy planning the big proposal. But let’s stop talking about that for a second. Have you seen Trisha lately?”

“Trisha? That’s weird. Should I be worried?”

“Worried? Why would you?”

“Because you’re asking about Trisha all of a sudden. That’s more than weird.”

“Carl, just answer the question.” I rolle
