Before the time to execute Jonathan, I went into Agatha’s room to see how she was faring. As soon as I got in, everyone that was in there with her, consoling her, headed out, leaving only both of us.

Looking at her face, she seemed to have calmed down compared to this morning at the funeral.

“How are you?” I put on a faint smile, walking to the couch she sat on.

“What do you think, Your Majesty?” She sniffed, causing me to let out a loud sigh. I sat next to her and let her rest her head on my chest.

“Losing the baby wasn’t supposed to happen if you hadn’t heard about what happened to Randall and Daciana. But, there’s a good chance that we can try again, and this time, we’ll get it right and our child will be alive.”

“I know we can try again, but I hate that I had to lose our first child with you. That was our first child!”
