Ember's POV

"Are you okay with that portion my love?" Trent inquired as we sat down for dinner. I didn't know why he was acting all lovey-dovey. Oh, I think I understand now. He wanted his sister who sat opposite us to be very pained and I was very happy.

I smiled at him, playing along, "Great, I'm just thinking about how lucky I am to have you in my life. I mean no one would have imagined that we would be together to this point. I would have not believed it even." I said laughing heartily too.

"Good, I don't know what I'd do without you either."

Elise's gaze narrowed at me but I didn't spare her a single glance whatever she decided to do was her business. "Why aren't you marked yet?" She inquired and I stared at her. She shrugged. " For people who claim to be so in love with each other you sure do not have the sign."

"Oh, really?" He replied and she nodded.

"Well, my baby and I do not want the pain that comes with marking plus it's nobody's business whether we get marked or not."

Ember's POV"Get out of my house, I don't want to see you here, you had the guts to bring a bastard into my house?" Trent thundered and I winced. I knew the next thing that he was about to say so I quickly jumped into the conversation. It was one thing to scold someone. It was another thing to be vengeful while doing it. Elise stared at Sonia as if she was the worst sinner on earth. " I keep telling you all the time that certain people shouldn't be allowed into the premises because it's dangerous. How can you who know that you're a pauper, you have no one decide to fall pregnant?" She demanded."Can we be calm about the whole issue?" I butted in. This looked like sheer oppression but we weren't ready for this conversation. " I don't know what you are doing, can't we all see that the girl is exhausted?" Elise scoffed, " but she wasn't exhausted when she was raising her legs and moaning in pleasure." She snapped."That's too much information. We don't need that. Why are you acting lik

Xander's POVMy heart traveled to Ember as I wondered what she'd be doing right now. If she were here, she'd be helping me with these accounts but here was Ellie sleeping and snoring Well, I didn't blame her. Pregnancy was rumored to be very stressful. I was grateful that hers only made her demand unnecessary attention and sleep a lot. She was not a picky eater neither was she puking constantly. That would have been a bit hard for me to navigate so I guess I had to make do with what I got. "What are you thinking of?" Her voice cut into my thoughts and I turned. "You look stressed. Is it the accounts? You can call Grace to help you with it" she said all at once yawning at the end of her speech and I rolled my eyes."Yeah, thanks." "You've been acting moody for a while now. is there anything I can help you with?" She replied and I shook my head. She couldn't cure my problem. What I was feeling was greater than what she thought."I'm having issues with resolving this account but I don'

Ember's POVWhen we were heading back from the hospital, Trent and I were in utter silence. I stared at him occasionally to gauge his reaction but from what I saw I noticed that he was very furious and I didn't bother to say anything. His anger had to be assuaged when he wanted it to."Aren't you even in the least apologetic about the way you made me worry when there was actually nothing wrong with you?" He inquired and I stared at him softly. He was not going to let me live this down. When we arrived at the hospital the doctor confirmed that I was okay and just needed to take my medications causing him to be very wroth with me.I felt as though I got away with a lot of things because he kept considering that I was just a female who didn't know anything and I was happy about that. He didn't need to change it. "I'm sorry about that." "No, you're not sorry, you know what you did, so your apology is quite useless to me. Instead of me accepting your apology, I'd rather send her packing."

Ember's POVThe next few days began with me making sure that I was invested in pack affairs. Mainly because Elise was still around and I knew that she was going to run me mad. In the spirit of avoiding everyone that was destined to make me cranky, I went out everyday."Luna Ember, I didn't know that you visited this place." A woman said. She was at the spinning machine, weaving yarn while I watched her."Yes, I do." " Please come have a seat." She said while taking a glance at my now protruded stomach.I was interested in seeing how they wove materials, coming from where we bought most things. I loved the art that went in toward this. It made me feel happy that some people had this much love for art."Would you like some juice?" She offered but I wrinkled my nose. I wasn't really in the mood to drink anything because I feared that I might end up throwing up which wouldn't be too good considering the fact that the doctor told me to ease off any stress. She sighed and glanced at me surr

Ember’s POVI looked at Meg for a long time, squinting my eyes at her before I finally parted my lips, "What do you mean by that?" My voice was rather rash and cold.Meg was quiet for some time and I was already getting curious before she finally spoke, "I heard a rumor." She said ever so slowly and that piqued my interest a little bit. Rumor? I wondered what kind of rumor was that?"And?" I asked after I noticed that she didn't want to speak since she kept quiet."In one particular time, rumors flew around that the wife that Trent married before you separated from him due to..." She was quiet for some time again and I squinted my eyes at her again, trying to know what she was implying and I knew it, she parted her lips again and spoke, "They separated due to infertility, but don't worry, no one really knows the details and it isn't certain yet." I was scared for a while, it seemed like life and hope were drained away from me. Infertility? What was that about? I couldn't even wrap my

Ember’s POV“Let's talk through Facetime honey.” My father said and I nodded, before switching to it. My father stared at me for a moment, his eyes mostly filled with a confused glare. He opened his mouth to speak but paused and then turned towards his mirror and started to check himself out. “What is wrong with you?” He said with a sigh. I walked around and faced him again. “Nothing, I am perfectly fine,” I said with my gaze fixated on him. “I just want to know why you brought Trent here of all people to marry me?” I asked again. “Why the warrior?” My father cocked his head down, as he always does when he was fed up with a conversation. “I brought him here because I wanted to expand my business,” he said. “I asked Xander to, but he wasn't responsive…” he paused and looked at me. “Look, Xander wasn't interested in the business and I had to look for someone else. Someone willing to do what it takes, that's all it is about.” I looked at him, squinting my eyes, I now wore the former lo

Ember's POV“Keep quiet,” Trent said. “I have nothing to do with that woman again, bygones are bygones. The past is the past so please just ease off on that,” He said, shifting his weight and putting his hand in his pocket and bringing out a stopwatch. He flipped it open and glanced at it. At this moment something struck my mind. It seemed as if it was this wife that left him that Elise was talking about. I frowned and she spoke again. “Being divorced doesn't mean you need to hate her though,” Elise chuckled. “I mean, you can still be allies and all but you just don't need to be intimate is all.”Well, my guess was correct it was indeed the former wife that Elise was talking about. “No,” Trent said. “I don't want anything to do with that woman anymore. She is nothing but a liar and a betraying son of a…” he stopped talking and just sighed. “I just don't want anything to do with that woman anymore,” he replied. Ember squealed. "You're a naughty boy." She replied when Xander took her inside the shower. "We are too old to be having these sessions." She replied. Xander didn't think that anything was wrong with him wanting to have an alone time with his lovely wife so he smiled at her. Ember smiled at him. "I'm sorry, I was just kidding." She told him.His eyes crinkled with mirth. "I know, right. I don't even care about what you want to say but I believe that you will enjoy today's session. It promises to be mind-blowing." He bragged. She smiled at him while stroking his beards playfully. "Do you even know what this means?" She teased him.Xander peeled off the dress from her shoulders quietly and stared at her figure. "You look exquisite. I don't think I've seen anyone like you." He muttered softly while smacking his lips for effect. She rolled her eyes at his words. He would say anything just to have his way with her. "What do I expect? It's been almost twenty years." She complained.Xande

He looked up and saw his twin brother staring at him with a glare. "Take a shower instead, you'll feel calm." He said.Dennis went mute for a minute before throwing a punch at him but his brother was faster and had predicted the move so he ducked at the last minute."Get away from the fridge, both of you!" Ember yelled and they jumped apart. She saw that they were mad at each other which made her worried. "You too are supposed to have each other's backs not be a thorn in each other's flesh." She whispered. She was trying so much to raise children who were devoid of hate and malice. The Alpha position was an edgy one which she hoped that they didn't fight each other for but coexisted perfectly together. "Why do you feel the need to show your powers when you are supposed to be each other's best friends?" She demanded The

  • My Luna Hates Me: Winning Back His Luna's Heart    Battle Strategy

Ember's POV. A pang of headache hit me as I felt my eyes open, my legs shaking beneath my gown. Everywhere seemed black, but the sun rays through the barred hole on the door shone brightly. I strove to stand up, taking what felt like an eternity to raise a leg. Something that felt like shaped iron clashing against each other rang in my ear, and I felt compelled to know what was happening outside. I sprinted toward where the backdoor was, my legs shaking after every step, my heart racing faster with every step I took. The sound of crashing iron and steel and the rise of cries grew closer and thicker with every step I took. I had no idea what was happening outside, all I sought was to escape from this dungeon. Most of the guards were distracted by what was happening outside, none were looking my way. I guess it was lucky, and a chance for me to escape. I walked toward the exit door, but just as I reached there, the roar of a wicked smile halted me in my spot, and I was force

  • My Luna Hates Me: Winning Back His Luna's Heart   Battle Call

Xander's POV. I was seated in my palace when an emissary holding a sealed letter was brought before me by one of my pack guards. As the emissary approached, I could sense a mix of curiosity and unease from my pack members "Greetings, Alpha Xander. I bring a message from Trent's pack." He fretted going down by reclining his head onto his knees. I took the letter, breaking the seal. My eyes scanned the parchment, and my gut twisted with every word. Trent was declaring war on us. I called a gathering with my elders. We sat in a circle, the letter passed among us. "This is madness," One of them growled. "Trent knows we won't back down." "We need to prepare for battle," Another suggested, her voice steady. "Gather our strongest warriors, Xander. We'll show Trent the strength of our pack." "I'll start scouting for allies. We can't face Trent's pack alone." I looked at my elders, determination burning within me. "We'll defend our pack" The elders nodded in unison, and I k

  • My Luna Hates Me: Winning Back His Luna's Heart   Back to the past

Ember's POV I walked down the hallway slowly, this part of the house seemed to be more empty than the path I walked through once I reached the end of the house. I frowned wondering what wild goose chase Ellie sent me on. Xander wasn't here. Why would she send me here for no reason had she completely lost it? angry I turned to leave when I spotted Trent standing there with a wicked smile on his face, holding a sword. My stomach dropped knowing there was no way this was going to end well. “Trent! What are you doing here?” He smirked, the glint of the sword reflecting in the fading light. “Hello, Ember. Fancy meeting you here.” I took a step back, feeling panic rising. “Where’s Xander? He’s supposed to be here, did you do something to him?” Trent chuckled, his voice dripping with malice. “Oh, Xander isn’t coming. Ellie sent you her for me. I’m the one you’re dealing with.” Realization hit me like a punch to the gut. Ellie must have played me, setting me up for Trent. My instinc

  • My Luna Hates Me: Winning Back His Luna's Heart   Underestimated

Author's POV. Xander walked hurriedly towards the port. He had booked a safe passage through the tunnel for Ember. It had not been cheap, but he knew it was going to be worth it since he was sure she would appreciate his efforts in helping her get her complete freedom. He arrived at the spot they had both agreed that they would meet. The port was mostly deserted at this time of the day so it was going to be relatively safe and easy for her to wall around without being found by people who work for Trent. He stood around for the next ten minutes, stifling the anxiety that was quickly growing in his chest. After ten minutes, he started to call her name as he looked around the area. It could have been possible that she had missed her way and was staying at another spot instead of the one they had initially agreed to meet. She was supposed to have been here. They had agreed that they would meet at that spot and he had been exactly on time. If there had been any delay or anything t

Ember's POV. I wasn't moved by her words because I knew that I had a higher backing that would help me out when it was time. All she just needed was the go-ahead from me. Then I knew that she would be able to go ahead to focus on getting the answer. I chuckled softly and looked at her. "Did you want us to respect you, Ellie? You should accord yourself some respect." I told her and she looked at me. "Who the hell are you?!" She challenged me. Her eyes flared at me and I smiled at her. "Are you my husband's concubine?" She asked and I held myself from saying just like you were. That would be a big slap on her face which I didn't really mind though. I liked the fact that she was really struggling to make it work. I didn't care about her and all that she was doing. All I wanted to know is that there would be a need for us to just stay for a while and rest before finally talking about our past life. In just a few years she would be controlling the whole arena but if I stood up rig

Ember's POV. I couldn't help but feel very remorseful when he came close to me. I was a bit skeptical in the beginning but after a while I finally realized that there might be something missing which I wasn't taking into cognizance. Xander reclined into the seat as he stared at me but I maintained his glare. He wasn't going to unnerve me. So what if he didn't sleep with her? All of this was still his fault. If he had not taken those steps when he finished getting her pregnant, then maybe I wouldn't resent him this much. "You didn't defend me when I needed you the most, I don't think you remember that incident, or do you?" I asked him and he shook his head. "I don't think I do. Why would I purposely not want to talk to you? I was under an influence and believe me when I say that it's something that I regret till this day because of this now we are in deep shit.
