Hide and Seek

Ember's POV

I jolted awake from my sleep and my hands flew directly to my neck expecting to feel pressure. My first shock was the fact that I was the only one in the room. Oh my goodness, that dream had felt so real that I almost thought that Trent was in here with me.

I squinted in the darkness and reached for my bedside lamp. I jumped when I saw Trent sitting at the corner of the room on a chair with his head resting against the wall and his legs crossed over each other.

My heart gave an unusual thump and I went still. I didn't want to believe that I had been in here all these while, yet didn't know that I was in potential danger.

Since he was asleep, I came down from the bed and tiptoed toward the door. I didn't want to take any chances. What if I said that he couldn't do anything and at the end of the day, he hurt me?

That dream was like a foretelling of what was to come and I'd be damned if I treated it as an ordinary dream. My heart raced when I finally walked past him yet he
