Chapter 27 Overflow of Fatherly Love

Mu Yu was shocked. “Your grandpa…”

The next second, Qin Jinhuan had sprung out of the dining room with Mu Yu hurriedly following behind him.

By the time she reached the living room, there were people already giving first aid help to Qin Xiaozhi, but she didn’t know any of them.

Qin Xiaozhi was now laying on the sofa with his face pale, completely silent. Although Mu Yu didn’t like Qin Xiaozhi, this scene made her break into a frightful sweat. Mu Yu quickly prayed for him to be alright. She was, after all, a kind girl.

“Janny, how is he?” Qin Jinhuan asked anxiously when he saw the person who was giving emergency treatment straightened slightly.

“Old Master Qin only fainted.” The person known as Janny was obviously relieved. She rushed to Qi Hao and Qi Han and said, “Bring Old Master Qin to his room to rest.”

“Yes.”

When Qi Hao and Qi Han both stepped forward, Janny turned to the Qin family doctor, Lei Zhi, and ordered, “Dr. Lei, go and take care of the Old Master for now, I have something to talk to Mr. Qin about.”

“Okay.” Lei Zhi responded. Along with the twins, he carefully helped Xiaozhi upstairs.

Qin Jinhuan followed behind them and stopped after a few steps.

Only then did Mu Yu realize that his expression was no better than Qin Xiaozhi's. Somehow, her heart ached for no reason. Of course, the questions in her heart were worse—he clearly cared about his grandpa, yet he always went against his sick grandpa.

“Is Grandpa really okay?”

Only when she heard Dong Wanqing ask the question through sobs did Mu Yu remember that she was still there. Since Qin Jinhuan was there, Mu Yu wanted to throw a provocative and defiant glance at her. However, once she turned around and saw Dong Wanqing's disheveled look, she couldn’t help it but laugh out loud.

Dong Wanqing didn’t understand why she was laughing and thought she was taking pleasure out of Qin Xiaozhi’s fainting. She was instantly annoyed and scolded, “Grandfather is already like this. How can you laugh out loud? Are you even human?”

After scolding, her gaze turned to Qin Jinhuan. She wanted to see Qin Jinhuan’s attitude toward what Mu Yu had done. She had seen with her own eyes and knew that Qin Jinhuan was anxious about his grandpa’s fainting.

However, Qin Jinhuan didn’t say anything. He only turned to Janny and said, “Let’s go to the study room.” Then, he pulled Mu Yu with him and walked toward his study room on the first floor.

Janny immediately followed him.

As soon as they reached the door of the study room, Mu Yu turned around and looked at Dong Wanqing, who looked confused and stayed where she was. Mu Yu then made a funny face at her and said, "You look like a wreck".

Dong Wanqing finally responded and let out a shrill scream. She covered her face and rushed to the bathroom, and Mu Yu heartily.

After they entered the study room, she heard Janny talk to Qin Jinhuan about all the relevant treatments for Qin Xiaozhi. Only then she realized that Janny was the expert that Qin Jinhuan had specially hired to cure his grandpa’s illness.

After that, Janny reminded him once again, “It’s fine when he’s normal, but when the Old Master is sick, you must calm his emotions! Or else, we’ll waste all the progress we’ve made.”

“I know.”

“In that case, I’ll go upstairs to see the Old Master.”

After Janny left, Mu Yu couldn’t help but lean toward Qin Jinhuan and said, “Hey, it’s obvious that you care about your grandpa, so why do you pretend like you can’t stand him?”

“Never ask this question again, do you hear me?”

Seeing that Qin Jinhuan was impatient, Mu Yu made an ‘oh’ sound and pouted her lips.

“Did you hear what Janny said?”

“I heard it.”

“Let’s go.”

“Where to?”

“The study room.”

Mu Yu laughed out loud and asked, “Are you crazy? Aren’t you in the study room?”

Qin Jinhuan glanced at her and said, “The study room upstairs.” Then, he dragged her out of the room.

“Hey! Slow down, my leg hurts!”

“What’s the matter?” Qin Jinhuan instantly stopped and looked at her legs.

Mu Yu pointed at her thigh with an upset look. “What else if not from you pinching me too hard last night? It hurt so much when I walked. I was even misunderstood and ridiculed by Dong Wanqing.”

“Misunderstood?”

“Yeah, she thought I couldn’t walk because we, erm... had something going on last night.” Mu Yu couldn’t continue any further.

Qin Jinhuan didn’t find her shy look funny. “Because we were being too intimate last night?”

Seeing the mockery behind his smile, Mu Yu was very annoyed. “How dare you smile after being the culprit behind all these?”

“Isn’t this the result we want?” Qin Jinhuan's mood became better at once. He held her hand again and walked out of the door, but at a much slower pace this time.

Although his words made sense, Mu Yu still couldn’t help but curse him under her breath.

After they went upstairs, she discovered that Qin Jinhuan and Qin Xiaozhi each had a study room on both floors. When she saw the study room and noted that it was even bigger than her own house, she couldn’t help but exclaim at the willfulness of the rich.

After they entered the study room, Qin Jinhuan let go of her hand and ignored her. He sat down at his desk, opened his laptop, and got busy on his own.

Mu Yu looked at her watch and saw that it was already 11 o’clock in the morning. She gave up on making it to work and felt bored again. She took out her phone to play some games, but then her phone was out of battery and had turned off. She went back to her room to get her charger to charge her phone. After that, she turned on the TV and settled on a variety show. She retrieved a packet of sunflower seeds from her bag to snack on, and ate them while watching TV.

She was curious about the arguments among the Qin family members, but the main reason she was here in the Qin manor was to help cure Qin Xiaozhi’s illness. Everything else was none of her business, so she was too lazy to think about it.

“The weather is so good today. Why don’t you go shopping?”

Mu Yu jumped in shock when she heard Qin Xiaozhi's voice. She quickly turned around and looked at him.

“Has your money run out?” Qin Xiaozhi stepped forward and gently held her hand. “If you have finished your money, why didn’t you tell Daddy? Tell me your bank account number and I’ll transfer it to you now.”

“What?” Seeing that Qin Xiaozhi was a totally different person from the fierce and angry man he was, Mu Yu was stunned. She then responded timidly, “I’ve lost my bank card and haven’t gotten a replacement yet.”

After the lesson she learned last time, she dared not accept Qin Xiaozhi’s money anymore.

Mu Yu knew he loved eating sunflower seeds and quickly pushed the whole bag of seeds in front of him. Although she knew that he was ill again, her lack of understanding toward him, in addition to his previous scary and fierce look, left her clueless as to what to say to him. So, she could only pretend to be engrossed by the television.

“Yes?” When Mu Yu turned her head, she saw Qin Xiaozhi push a small dish toward her in a flattering manner.

The plate was filled with peeled sunflower seeds!

Qin Xiaozhi was surprised to see that she wasn’t moving. He asked, puzzled, “Why aren’t you eating? Don’t you really like it when Daddy peel sunflower seeds for you to eat?”

When he said this, his expression suddenly dimmed. “Are you still angry with Daddy?”

“N-No.” Thinking of Janny’s advice, Mu Yu quickly thought of an excuse to coax him with.

“I’m not angry with you. I just can’t bear to eat them.”

“Silly girl, I will peel more for you after you finish eating them.” Qin Xiaozhi laughed happily and put a small spoon in her hand. His voice and gaze were as gentle as a lake. “I love seeing you eat.”

Seeing Qin Xiaozhi’s overbearing and fatherly love, Mu Yu couldn’t help but soften her heart. When she started playing the role of little missy, she could feel Qin Xiaozhi’s love for his daughter. However, she didn’t expect him to spoil his daughter like this.

The difference between when he was and wasn’t ill was like fire and ice to her.

As he pushed the dish in front of her while staring at her, she felt like he looked particularly like a kid who had done his homework and was waiting for the praise of an adult. Mu Yu became more relaxed and touched, and no longer minded. She took the dish, scooped the sunflower seeds with the spoon, and put them into her mouth, one after another.

Qin Xiaozhi laughed open-heartedly. Then, he lowered his head and continued to peel the sunflower seeds.

Because the sound from the TV was a little too loud and the sofa’s back was facing the room door, the both of them didn’t notice three men standing at the door.

“Alright, let’s not disturb them. We’ll go to the study room.” Qin Jinhuan pulled Wen Zeyu, who was already halfway into the room, and gently closed the door.

Wen Zeyu and Rong Jian were his childhood best friends.

As Wen Zeyu followed him into the study room with an excited look on his face, he laughed at Qin Jinhuan and said, “Bro, where did you find such a gentle, beautiful, and understanding nurse? Introduce her to me after this, I fancy her.”

The internet was always full of Qin Jinhuan’s scandals. As his buddies, they were usually too lazy to read them.

“Do you want me to fetch the marriage certificate for you to see?”

“I’ll let you see it later.” After seeing Mu Yu spend time with his sick grandpa, Qin Jinhuan’s mood had improved.
