Chapter 8

Bella took all the ingredients out from the respective bags and placed them all on the kitchen counter for easy access.

She began to pick out ingredients for the tart base and pie base first, since they both need time for both preparation and resting time.

So she began to crack open the eggs in a large glass bowl. Then added the flour mix along with little sugar, salt, oil and added a small amount of yeast for rising of the flour. 

Then she began to knead the flour mixture into a nice dough and covered them with a wet cloth to retain the moisture and kept it aside for rising.

After that she started the microwave oven and set the temperature for preheating.

Then she moved on to Cookie mixture. She mixed all the ingredients into a large steel bowl and mixed them well, so as to avoid the lump forming. 

moving to next, She took a small portion of the cookie dough and added some chocolate chips for making the chocolate chip cookies recipe. 

When the flour was well mixed, she took the metal trays and scoped the mixture using a scoping utensil and placed the mixture in the trays.

When the trays were full, she placed them in to the preheated oven and set the timer for baking.

When she placed the first batch of cookies in to the oven, she moved onto the next recipe.

Next she made three other portions of different cookie doughs and made them ready to bake. 

First portion was mixed with sprinkler, second one was mixed with nuts like hazelnut, almonds and Cashewnuts and the third portion was filled with dried fruits like raisins and apricots.

During mixing the last batch of cookie dough, the timer set off indicating that the first batch of cookies were done baking.

She repeated the same process and scooped the dough mixture and placed them on the trays neatly.

First the dough mixture with dried fruits went in the microwave oven. Followed by the dough mixture with dried nuts and then the dough mixture with sprinklers.

Within an hour, she finished all the set of different cookies and set them on the counter for cooling off. 

The kitchen was full of heavenly smell due to those different baked cookies. She can’t control herself and picked up a chocolate chip cookie to have a taste.

When the cookie melted in her mouth like butter, she can’t help herself from moaning at the heavenly delight she called cookie. 

She was very much satisfied with the way the cookies have baked and they tasted heavenly.

When all the cookies were cooled off, she quickly sorted out them all and packed them in a different containers, so as to make more room for further baking process. 

When she finished packing the cookies, she placed them in the corner of the kitchen, away from the remaining raw ingredients.

After which, she moved on to the resting dough mixture she kept aside and inspected them. 

They were raised beautifully same as she wanted. She took a portion of the dough mixture and made the base for the tarts and pies. 

After setting the base for the tarts, she placed the trays in the microwave oven for the base to bake. 

Moving on she began to fill the pie bases with different ingredients like apples for apple pie and lemon custard for lemon custard pie and mixed fruits on another pie base. 

When she finished with these toppings of the pie, the timer went off indicating that the tart bases have been baked.

She removed them from the microwave oven and placed them on the kitchen counter for cooling.

They were baked nice and crisp with a beautiful golden brown colored outer appearance. Then she placed the pie mixture into the microwave oven for baking.

Within another hour she finished baking the pies and decorated the tarts with beautiful toppings.

Some tarts were filled with fresh fruits as toppings with fresh whipped creams.

Some were filled with home made jams and dried nuts as the toppings for them and fruits with whipped creams as toppings for another batch of pies.

When she finished with the toppings in both the tarts and pies, she again packed them carefully in separate containers , so that they won’t smudge together and make a mess. 

After careful packing, they also joined the cookies in the corner that were baked previously.

If someone saw her now, working like a spinning top, moving so elegantly, they would be amazed.

She was like a blooming flower which was swaging along with the gentle breeze.

She was like a fish gliding along the waves playfully diving and dancing in the sea waves.

Being in the kitchen, brings Bella a warm and happy feeling. It’s like the warm embrace of her mother. Because everything she knows about cooking, was taught by her mom.

While moving in the kitchen, Bella thought of one of the happy memories of her mom and her.

It was the first time for Bella to learn how to bake. Her mom told her to mix the flour and eggs in a big bowl.. 

During the mixing, due to her over excited nature, she dropped the bowl on the floor.

The flour mixture along with eggs were spattered everywhere,On her apron , her dress, on the kitchen counter and on the floor. It was a total mess.

When Bella’s mom, Sara came into the kitchen due to the noise coming from inside the kitchen, she was stunned first.

Seeing her daughter and the kitchen floor covered in the flour mix, it looked like a war zone. 

She didn’t know whether to laugh or cry at that moment, seeing her covered in flour mixture looking all messed up.

Contemplating for second, she burst out laughing. Bella who stood like a statue, looked at her mom, who was laughing, like an alien. 

Instead of scolding her, her mom was laughing like there was no tomorrow.

By the time, Sara managed to stop laughing, she was breathing heavily, like she ran miles for hours.

Her stomach was hurting like hell. After catching her breath, she turned to her daughter who was struck still in the same place, all these time.

“Oh..Honey… you are just like me. I made the same mess when I first did baking at the same age as yours. But when your grandmother saw the mess I made, she chased after me around the whole neighborhood with a spatula to beat the hell out of me”.

“ did u get caught? Did she thrashed you?” Questioned Bella curiously, blinking her big baby blue eyes. Her eyes showed a hint of curiosity and amusement.
