Chapter 5

Bella lives in a two storey house in the downtown of the city with her dad Isaac Williams, elder brother Oliver and Mary, her brother’s wife.

Their mom Sara died due to heart disease when she was at the age of 15. Her dad loved her mom more than anything else in the world.

Their family of four was the world to him. Her dad was very devoted to her mom, which was both admired and envied in their neighborhood. 

Sara was the ideal wife, every man wishes to have in their life. Bella was apple of their family. 

She was her dad’s cute little princess and her brother Oliver’s gorgeous little Tinkerbell. Bella brought happiness to everyone in her family. 

But all that came crashing down when her mom died of a heart disease. Due to their mom's death, her dad was terribly affected.

A year after their mom’s death, their dad was diagnosed with depression and was bedridden. 

That was 2 years back. Since then she has been taking care of her father in their home. 

Her elder brother Oliver is working in a construction company. Though the salary is not ample, its enough to feed everyone. 

He would go for work for days without coming back home, for extra salary. Her sister in law Mary was a greedy woman and was not satisfied with the way her husband was living. 

She considered Bella and her dad as burden. Mary thought that they would live a happy and comfortable life, If they lived alone.

But when she talked to her husband Oliver about moving out and living separately , Oliver straight out refused. Because Oliver loved his family.

He loved Mary thinking that she was an understanding and loving girl. Its not Oliver’s fault that he failed to see the original face of Mary. 

Because she hid it well from him. Mary loved Oliver too. But she loved his family status a little more than him. 

When they were dating, their mom Sara was alive and her health condition was well. 

So Oliver’s financial status was steady and they had quite a some sort of luxury.

Actually Mary was a caretaker in the hospital, in which Oliver’s mom used to take treatment. Oliver first saw her in the hospital. 

Believing the kind and humble acting of Mary, he started dating her and soon introduced her to his family. 

His family members were too fooled by Mary’s pretense and agreed to Oliver’s marriage proposal to Mary.

They married in the church in Oliver’s neighborhood with a small reception party for friends and family.

Everything was going fine for the time being. Isaac’s printing business was doing fine, Oliver helped his dad in his business.

Mary resigned her job in the name of taking care of Sara and Bella had a normal happy teenage life. 

But everything came crashing down, after 6 months of Oliver’s marriage, which took their mom from them. 

Eventually, everything went downhill from then on. 

Oliver knows how Bella took care of their dad single-handedly and also continued her studies on the other hand. The only thing he can do now is to support them financially. 

Oliver didn’t have a permanent job. He used to do multiple jobs at a time to earn enough money. He didn’t even had enough time to go home certain days to see his family. 

Luckily he got a contract job on a construction company, which made his life a little easy-going.

He didn’t have to worry about searching jobs frequently for the time being.

Oliver refused to move out to live alone with Mary. This made Mary frustrated which eventually turned into needless hatred.

Since she can't do anything to change Oliver's mind, her hatred for his family grew ten fold.

So Mary’s anger was directed on Bella. She made Bella to do all the house hold chores from cooking to doing laundry.

Even that didn’t satisfy Mary’s anger. Truth to be told, She was jealous of Bella’s beauty and kind nature. 

Even though she was treated unfairly, Bella never complained to her brother. She knows how hard her brother was working to meet their financial ends. 

Bella never allowed the negativity to reach her. She believed that if she created a happy environment for her dad, he would recover soon.

Her only wish was to see her dad in full healthy condition. So she would always smile, even when there are millions reasons to cry, she would push them out and try to smile for her family. 

But this didn’t stop Mary from taunting Bella and her dad every chance she gets, mostly when Oliver was not at home. 

So to reduce to financial problems, Bella took special teaching classes to neighborhood children and baby sat toddlers to earn more money to buy meds for her father.

Since she cannot leave her dad alone for long hours, she didn’t go out often. 

The only time she would leave her dad alone was when she would go to church on Sunday mornings and when going for groceries shopping or for buying meds for her dad. 

Bella quickly finished the breakfast. Her mom was a great cook. She taught Bella everything about cooking. 

The breakfast consists of toasts, milk , scrambled eggs and bacon with hash brown.

She called Mary to have her breakfast and again went inside to prepare breakfast for her dad. 

Soon Mary came and ate her breakfast. After she was done, she didn’t even put her utensils in the kitchen basin.

She just kept everything on the dining table and went back to her room while cursing Bella for no reason. It became her habit to curse and taunt at Bella to satisfy her anger.
