After I suppressed my disgust, I said, “I saw Heather’s pregnancy report before, and it was real. If the child isn’t yours, then the hospital will have a record of the father. You should have a look. Maybe you’ll find some information there.”

The police also jumped into action. Two officers went to the security guard’s home by tracing the information he left on his employment contract. When they arrived, he was frantically packing his luggage.

He could not even form a full sentence out of fear.

The police officers had done the first round of questioning while they were on the way back to the police station.

However, he would not tell them about Heather’s whereabouts.

He did not know what was a financial crime, and he did not know he was breaking the law.

He only knew that he was earning money to treat his son.

The other team of police officers went to the maternity hospital.

They would have Heather’s maternity records.
