Chapter 05

When Alex was about to smother Aaron with a pillow. Suddenly he heard a voice talking and footsteps Mr. Spencer and Mrs. Aurora who seemed to be returning to the room.

Knowing that Alex quickly put Aaron's respirator back on. Until finally Mr. Spencer and Mrs. Aurora returned.

“Alex, we are not going to go out. We decided to stay here with Aaron. Our thoughts are constantly on him so that we don't feel hungry at all and want to stay here looking after Aaron,” said Mrs. Aurora.

“Thanks for the help, Alex. If you want to go home, you can go home now,” said Mr. Spencer.

“I hope you two can keep thinking positively that Aaron can recover,” said Alex with a smile. “I'm going home.”

“Be careful on the road,” said Mrs. Aurora.

They smiled at each other. Until then Alex stepped to go home.

“DAMN IT!”

Alex screamed in annoyance when he got in the car and hit the steering wheel because his plan to kill Aaron failed.

After a while he took a deep breath, trying to calm himself down.

He tried to think positively that Aaron wouldn't be able to wake up from his coma at this time. It must have taken a long time for Aaron to pass through his critical period.”

“It's okay, Alex, failure is normal. You can try again with another plan later. I better go home and rest now.”

After that, Alex decided to go home and rest.

Upon arrival home, he immediately lay down on the bed, right beside Adaline who had been asleep for a long time.

A few minutes later, Adaline woke up because her cell phone rang.

She then immediately picked up the phone which turned out to be a call from Mr. Antonio Blanco, a client who had just signed a cooperation agreement with her company last week.

Mr. Antonio informs that he wants to cancel their cooperation agreement because Adaline is unprofessional.

They have important business to take care of today, but Adaline can't be reached because she's grieving.

“Oh, my God! Why is there so much bad news today?” Adaline said very languidly after losing her important client.

She has already explained to Mr. Antonio and apologized, but Mr. Antonio does not want to cooperate with unprofessional people.

This made Adaline feel very sad and sorry for being unprofessional in handling personal and work matters.

“Honey, I overheard your conversation on the phone. Have you lost your client?”

“Honey, when are you coming?”

“I just came while you were sleeping.”

“That's right, honey. I have lost one of my important clients, Mr. Antonio. I and he agreed to take care of some work today. However, I didn't care about that because I chose to rest and didn't tell him.”

“There's no need to be so sad, honey. I can help you convince him again and continue to cooperate with Herbert Group companies.”

“How do you do it, honey?”

Alex has very great business skills. Convincing every client to cooperate with his company was easy for Alex.

So, he felt very confident that he would be able to convince Mr. Antonio to continue cooperating with the Adaline company.

He asked Mr. Spencer to meet and promised to solve the misunderstanding that Adaline had made.

Acting to show concern and love for Adaline has become a routine that Alex always does.

Alex and Adaline then went to meet Mr. Antonio at the Prince's Cafe.

“Good afternoon, Mr. Antonio. I am Alex William, Adaline's Husband. According to what I said on the phone, here I want to clear up the misunderstanding that my wife has done.

I understand you must feel very disappointed because my wife is unprofessional. However, I hope you can understand my wife's feelings as she is grieving deeply today.”

“I could understand Mrs. Adaline's feelings if she had at least informed me of her grief, but she has not given me any news at all. So I feel very disappointed.

I'm lazy to meet you two, but I feel a little sure about what Mr. Alex said on the phone. Your way of speaking sounds more professional than your wife's.”

Alex smiled at the words. He then explained the hotel development project that had been discussed by Adaline and Mr. Antonio previously.

Alex explained with a better explanation than Adaline. Of course, he understood the project.

Alex's intention in doing that was to convince Mr. Antonio that the project was very valuable.

It was predicted that the project would have such huge profits that it would make Mr. Antonio think twice about canceling the project.

“Your explanation is very good, Mr Alex. However, what if Mrs. Adaline returned to being unprofessional?”

After that, Alex promised that the misunderstanding about Adaline's unprofessional behavior would not be repeated.

He also promised if Adaline returns to being unprofessional, Mr. Antonio can contact Alex to replace Adaline's position in managing the project.

Alex's very good explanation finally succeeded in making Mr. Antonio decide to continue their cooperation.

It made Adaline feel very proud to have a husband who was always great in business matters.

“Thank you, honey. You are very great,” Adaline said with a smile then hugged and kissed Alex's cheek very gently.

Alex smiled too. “I feel very happy because I can see a beautiful smile on your face.”

Shortly after that, Adaline got a call from Mrs. Aurora.

“Adaline, God has given a miracle for Aaron. Aaron has woken up from the coma and doctors say his condition is recovering. Aaron has made it past his critical period.”

Adaline immediately smiled happily to hear that her best friend was getting better.

“Is it true? Thank you, God. I am very happy to hear that, Mrs. Aurora. Now I will go there to meet Aaron.” Adaline then ended the call with a happy smile.

“Honey, what was Mrs. Aurora talking about? Why can you smile happily like that?”

“Honey, I feel very happy because Aaron has passed his critical period and woke up from his coma. Thank you, God, for giving a miracle for my best friend.”

Alex was immediately shocked to hear the news. His eyes widened, his mouth opened wide, and his heart began to beat very fast because of the extraordinary panic he immediately felt.

“Gosh! How could it happen? Why Aaron can pass his critical period quickly like that? End my history now. Aaron will definitely reveal my identity soon and I will soon be in jail,” Alex said in his heart with a body that trembled because it was so panicked.
